Stories by an imaginary girl
What does a girl that doesn't exist write about? Wouldn't your a** like to know? Probably yo mama
(WKC1) Pale Incorruptus Chronicles
The first part of my big White Knight Chronicles fan-fiction thing I wrote a long-a** time ago. It's about a girl named Kiera Jinx, who just happens to look and act exactly like me, Kiera Jinx. Please note that this is one of the first stories I ever wrote, so it is quite sloppy. It would also help if you have played White Knight Chronicles before, but if you haven't nobody blames you.
Minor edits were made from the original drafts, including condensing 22 parts into one big part, fixing many spelling and grammatical errors, and adding notes to clarify certain parts that weren't so clear the first time around. This is not, however, a rewrite. So all the bad amateur writing is still in tact, it's just neater to look at. And remember, Author's notes are in purple.

I come from a tribe that used to live in the Lagnish Desert. Apparently they got wiped out by a large beastie when I was still a baby. I was raised by a pair of cockney frogs in the nearby city of Albana, and they're the ones who told me all this. When I grew up, I decided to leave the city and do some exploring. Unfortunately I had forgotten that weapons cost money, which I had none of. Somehow, I made my way over to the Rappacci Winery, and begged Rappacci to give me a job. After only a half hour of pestering, Rappacci gave in and hired me. He sent me and a boy named Leonard out to deliver some wine for a party. Things went pretty well. I met a girl named Yulie, and I got to kill a troll. We had so much fun killing that troll that we were totally late for the party. When we finally got to the party, a circus attacked the city, and I had a strange sense of deja vu... probably nothing. Anyways, Leonard ran off with the Princess, leaving me and Yulie to fight off the circus with the Knights of Balandor, and then an elderly man named Eldore saved us. Eventually, Leonard burst through the floor in the form of the Pale Incorruptus, and punched a large cannon in the face, all the while not paying attention to the Princess. So now Leonard is going on a quest to save the Princess, and I only had to pester him for 10 seconds to let me join with him. For some reason, Yulie's coming with us too. Eldore assigned me the chronicler of our adventure. It shall be a tale to be remembered! The Pale Incorruptus Chronicles!

And so we've set off! Eldore told us about his mind reading owls (Bigelows) that would help us locate the Princess. I told him that owls who can read minds are creepy, and he promptly ignored me. I "borrowed" some money from Leonard and bought myself a nice spear and some armor, and we headed off to Greydall Plain. I got to kill many a troll. Like five. At least five. Anyway, I should probably stop writing now, as I think I hear Leonard being eaten by something...

As I was pondering on why boars were howling, we were attacked by a great white beast who ruled over the Greydall Plains. Leonard thought the Magi sent it. Leonard clearly doesn't know too much about animal behavior. He immediately transformed into the Pale Incorruptus. I get so jealous when I see it. Eldore says Leonard can use it because he is one of the worthy. That's ridiculous, what makes him more worthy than I? His obsession with the Princess? His fondness of bad jokes? I could get obsessed with a princess if I wanted to, and I love making bad jokes!
Erhm, I'm getting distracted. So after dispatching the beast, Leonard got really sad. Then I reminded him that we killed a village worth of trolls, and he got even more sad. Seriously, how is he more worthy than me?! We reached the entrance to a cave, which apparently leads to the Lagnish Desert, where the Monoship carrying the Princess is supposedly heading. So, I'll be returning home. Wonder if my froggy parents miss me. Eldore's psychic owl came to us in the night, which he keeps reminding me is called a Bigelow, to which I respond, "That makes them even more creepy."
The Bigelow somehow summoned up an image of the Princess for us to communicate with. Did I mention these birds are creepy?
Anyways, tomorrow morning, we head into the cave. Should be... really cold.

We entered the Nordia Tunnels. It was absolutely freezing in there, but nobody really seemed to notice. Must be because I'm from the desert. We fought through hordes of spiders, which shot cold sticky webs at us (only exacerbating things) and some lizards. I came across a strange monster that didn't attack. Warmth emanated from its body. It was so nice...
As we made it further and further through the caves, I started to ponder on my relationship with these people. None of them seemed to care very much about me, simply pointing me towards a beast in our way and having me kill it. Nobody really talked to me... except Yulie.
That's strange, for some reason I just pictured a white snake singing and playing some sort of stringed instrument. Eldore's telling me we're about half-way through the cave, so I should probably continue on now.

As we neared the end of the cave, we started encountering soldiers of the Magi. I didn't pay them much mind, as it was too cold for me to think straight. Then, as the end of the cave was in sight, and I could feel the warm breeze of the outside air, the Black Knight appeared before us, and he transformed into a Black Knight! The irony made my nose numb, or maybe that was the cold.
Leonard transformed into the Pale Incorruptus and fought against the Black Knight. In all honesty, the Black Knight was much better than Leonard, and the only reason we survived was because of my incredible support tactics. The tactic of stabbing the Black Knight in the back of the neck while he's busy fighting someone his own size.
We defeated the Black Knight, and he retreated. We set up camp outside the cave and...
and later that night, I think I saw Leonard and the Princess dancing on the surface of water. Either I'm getting some weird dreams from that cave-spider poison, or these Bigelows are even creepier than I originally imagined.

And so is Leonard.

Ah home, the Lagnish Desert. The giant ravenous scorpions, the large sweaty men wearing nothing but a loincloth, the soft sand beneath your feet. The desert is a great place to be... unless your names are Leonard and Yulie.
The entire time we were there, all they did was complain about the heat. I didn't mention once how cold I was in that cave, or how green Parma was, and how it reminded me of puke and boogers, yet they won't stop talking about how miserable they are in this wondrous place. Ah well, I'm sure everything will be better when we get to Albana.

Take me down to the Albana city, where the grass is non-existent and the girls are pretty.

Now I'm home, yeayeah!

As soon as we got to Albana, I immediately ran home to hug my parents. Eldore then asked them if they had seen the Monoship. They hadn't. So, we went to the next best place to get information, the pub. And speaking of pretty girls, we bet a lovely lady named Kara, and kicked her a**.
Actually, there was a little more to it than that. She tried to kill us, so we killed her goons, then she transformed into a legendary monster called the Gigas. Leonard was about to transform into the Pale Incorruptus, but I stopped him and told him that I had a plan.
I pulled a bright red gem-stone out of my pocket, held it close to my chest, and shouted "Verto!"
Then, I chucked my spear into its skull, and it changed back into Kara. Everyone looked in awe at me, in pure disbelief at what had just happened. Now, I ask again, how is Leonard more worthy than me?

We took Kara to an inn, and waited at her bedside until she woke. She told us that the Magi forced her to try to kill us, threatening to kill her sister Lena if she didn't cooperate. The innkeeper told us that the Monoship was at the ruins to the south, and we prepared to head off.

Funny thing is, I don't remember ever seeing Kara or her sister Lena around here before. They must be out-of-towners.

In order to get to the ruins, we would need to take the south gate out of Albana, and in order to get through the south gate, we would need to get a gate pass from Don Phibbianacci. Phibbianacci had always been good to my family, so I didn't have too much to worry about there. He had us deliver a love letter to his mistress out in the Oasis. Not much to say about that, other than Leonard seeming genuinely surprised that in a town run by frogs, the Don's mistress would also be a frog.

I tried to ask Kara what she was doing in Albana in the first place, but she ignored me. She must really be worried about Lena.

Anyways, Don Phibbianacci gave us a free membership to his weapon binding club, as thanks for the favor.

The gates were opened, and we were ready to go to the ruins to save the Princess, as well as Kara's sister, Lena. When we got there, however, the short man (Belcitane) was prepared. He had three of his soldiers turn into Gigantes, and we had a hell of a fight on our hands. My sneaky tactics wouldn't work on 3 Gigantes, so it seemed mostly up to the brute strength of Leonard's Pale Incorruptus. Just as he had them beat, however, the short man brought out Lena, bound and gagged. He used her as a sacrifice to fuse the Gigantes into a bigger, far more powerful, far more headed Gigas. We charged at it! I grabbed onto its leg, trying to climb up to stab at its big head, but it quickly kicked me off. Leonard slashed at one of the little heads, and actually cut it off, but he left himself open, and the beast blew him away with a powerful strike. Just as hope seemed lost, the Princess chanted some spell, and Leonard gained a giant shield to go with the Pale Incorruptus. There must be great power within that shield, because once Leonard got it, he defeated the Gigas with ease. But before we could do our victory dance, the short man informed us that dancing is forbidden, and took the Princess away.

Apparently, they're headed for the Bunker Lode Caverns. Sounds exciting, but I do have to wonder, why would you gag your hostage if you're hiding out in a secluded area?

I said my goodbyes to my parents, and we headed off towards the Flandar Trail. As we made our way through the desert, I decided to give Kara a welcoming gift. I gave her the Fire Shard I had used to distract her when we fought in Albana. She seemed surprised, but grateful for the gift.

When we finally got to the entrance to the Flandar Trails, we immediately set up camp. Probably for the better, we have been walking for a long time. Later that night, the Bigelow came with a message from the Princess. Apparently, the Black Knight hasn't been keeping watch on her lately. Suspicious, but he's probably just looking for the next Ark. Apparently a dragon holds one of them.

This could be my opportunity...

And so, we climbed the Flandar mountain to get to the Free City of Greede. Among its notable qualities are valuable ore deposits, and dragons. To be honest, this was the first time I had seen a dragon. They're magnificent beasts, indeed. Beautiful and strong. I was twitching in excitement every time we encountered one.

One particular dragon was especially powerful. I had a strong suspicion that this was the dragon who held the Ark I so desperately wanted. Apparently, I wasn't the only one, as shortly after we engaged in battle, the Black Knight showed up to fight it as well. The dragon was too powerful for us, so we backed off and let Leonard and the Black Knight deal with it. With Leonard's help, the Black Knight slew the dragon. Unfortunately, it didn't have the Ark. Apparently, in the midst of the fight, Kara was knocked unconscious, though I don't recall seeing that...

Eventually, we arrived at the flying gondolas to Greede. As I looked upon this incredible sight, I couldn't help but think: What kind of mad-man sees this majestic creature and decides to build a city on top of it? It's an extraordinarily bad idea in so many ways.

Well, I guess we'll find out, as speaking with him's the only way we can get to the Bunker Lode Caverns.

In order to meet Count Drisdall, the ruler of Greede, we needed to get the Goddess of Lepanne, and in order to get the Goddess of Lepanne, we needed to get a Firestone from a fire lizard. It was said that the fire lizard was a dangerous and ferocious beast. It was a lie. I created a new technique justfor killing the beast, too. It was a cold variant on my signature attack, SLikL, in a very literal way. I called it the aiSLikL. The fire lizard went down after only one use of my aiSLikL technique. Truly the most disappointing fight I've been in since this journey began.

Anyway, we used the Firestone to repair the Goddess of Lepanne, and brought it to Count Drisdall's mansion. Theguards didn't believe we had it, but luckily the count's son, Caesar, let us in to examine the statue personally. It turns outthat Caesar had made a Fake Goddess of Lepanne for his father, but since we went through all the effort of finding and repairing the real one, he was going to go tell his dad the truth. The count was fairly annoyed at his son for this, but he agreed to help us, regardless. I like this Caesar. He's got a certain charisma to him. I can only imagine what it was like being raised by a nutbar who puts cities on top of animals, though.

Thankfully, we left the mansion before the count had a chance to build a dog-house on my back. Caesar decided to come with us, which made me feel a lot better about our next objective. We were to travel under the city with an alcoholic papitaur (Amir) to reach the Demithor's head, so we could get it to take us to the Bunker Lode Caverns. The thought of being directly between that much steel and that much monster made me quite uneasy...

You ever get the feeling a group of jackasses are roaming through your homeland completely unprepared?

So, we traveled underneath the City to talk to the Demithor. Despite how long it took, there really wasn't much of interest. While down there, we encountered some giant spiders, but they went down pretty easily, we didn't even have to call on Leonard for the Pale Incorruptus. Eventually, we made it to the Demithor's head, and Amir told it, through a series of odd noises, to go to the Bunker Lode Caverns.

Finally, we had arrived at our destination, and the Ark lie close. I could feel it! Those damn Bigelows must be rubbing off on me. There were many ferocious enemies in our way, including several dragons, and Magi Mages! I can't believe this is the first time we're encountering those. You'd think a group called "The Magi" would be a bit more magical.

When we reached the end of the cave, we saw the little fat man (Belcitane) and the Princess. The little fat man sent out two Gigantes at us, but me and Caesar took care of them without a sweat. Then an armored talking dragon flew into the cave and began attacking. It took all of our strength, but we managed to defeat it. The little fat man then turned into a Gigas and pushed the dragon into a deathtrap.

In its final moments, it granted the Dragon's Ark to Caesar. Strangely, I didn't feel mad about this. Caesar deserved the Dragon's Ark. Caesar transformed into the Dragon Knight, and defeated the little fat man's Gigas. After that, a Farian in green armor (Shapur) finished off the little fat man, and disappeared with the Princess.

We returned to Greede to discover count Drisdall had passed while we were gone. Poor Caesar. The count had left Caesar a letter informing us of a man in Balandor, named Medius, who left Caesar for him when Caesar was still a child. So, we're headed back to Balandor to meet this man, in hopes that he could have some information to help us on our journey.

Apparently, the Bigelows lost the trail. I think it's more likely they're toying with us.

We returned to Balandor only to discover that Medius had died last year, but we did discover that his son, Setti, was out at the caves out in the Balastor plains. When we got there, we saw he was being attacked by trolls! Caesar and Leonard were about to transform, when suddenly, the Black Knight saved Setti's life, and killed all the trolls. Leonard transformed and began to fight with the Black Knight, and after a brief explanation, Caesar helped, too.

Leonard and Caesar won the fight, and the Black Knight retreated. Setti invited us back to his place to explain things. Apparently the Incorrupti were created for a war long ago, but they couldn't fight on their own, so they used infants to run the Incorrupti, so as to avoid a rebellion. More answers lie in a place called Sinca Village, our next destination.

Call me crazy, but I don't trust Setti.

That night, we waited for Setti at the gate, like he said, then we heard from one of the townsfolk that there was a fire. We all feared for the worst. When we got there, Setti's house was burning down, with Setti dead inside. Then we saw a Bigelow watching over the burning building. Aha, I knew it!

Actually, the Bigelow was sent by the leader of the Magi. His name is Grazel, and he wants to meet us in the Frass Chasm to negotiate handing over the Princess in exchange for our Arks.

Clearly it's a trap, but what other choice do we have but to spring it?

We traveled to Frass Chasm via flying gondola from Greede. Caesar tells me that Frass means insect. I wish I had known that a bit earlier, it would've been a lot less shocking on my system had I known how many giant spiders were here.

Eventually, a large creature called a "greaver" (maybe it's totally not a lion) passed us by. I'd say it gave me a similar feeling as when I first encountered a dragon, but in all honesty, the sight of this beast just disgusted me. The greaver released a gas that made it dangerous to continue onward, so we set up camp. I had an odd dream that night. I dreamt that all of us lived in a village, and the village was attacked by giant Bigelows. One after another, they swooped down and swallowed each of us. First Leonard, then Eldore, then Kara, then Yulie, then Caesar, until all that was left was just me.

Then I woke up in the middle of the night drenched in sweat. I could faintly hear Caesar and Kara talking about something, but I was too distraught over my nightmare to care. Yulie looked worried. "Bad dream?" she asked me. "No, it was horrid," I responded.

That morning, Caesar asked me if I had suffered any trauma when I was younger. I told him that when I was a baby, my tribe had been wiped out by gigantic beasts, but I couldn't actually remember it. He said that his dragonsight showed him that I had some deep seeded fear of giant animals.

That's ridiculous, I make sure to kill at least 8 giant beasts every day... oh... he's good.

As we continued along our path through Frass Chasm, we encountered manya giant spider. Gianter than the giant spiders we were already encountering, that is. Eventually, we came upon a papitaurtryingto fix his flying thingy, and then he got attacked by a small greaver. Leonard and Caesar transformed into the Incorrupti and fought the beast. I would've helped too but... it just looked so disgusting.

That's a pathetic excuse, I'll be sure to give the next one a sound beating. Just as they knocked it down into the chasm and reverted back to their human forms, the greaver's tongues grabbed onto Caesar and pulled him down with it. And then the Black Knight saved him! The Black Knight flew off before we could question him.

The papitaur, whose name was Rocco, thanked us and went home, then we continued on with our journey. Eventually, we came upon a village full of angry papitaurs (Baccea), Eldore told us to turn around, but itwas too late, and the papitaurs captured us. They tied us up to poles, and said they were going to blow us up with a big ol' bomb. Just as I was starting to wonder if I was tough enough to survive the explosion, they detonated a bomb off in the distance to show me, "No, no you aren't," and right before they detonated the bomb, Rocco showed up and stopped them!

Rocco told them the story of how we saved him, and they kindly untied us and gave us access to their shops. How easily swayed they are. So, now we're going to find a troll-sword to help us fight the other Incorrupti.

We continued our journey through the Frass Chasm, and we encountered a lot of beasts along the way. Eventually, we came upon 2 baby greavers, and Leonard and Caesar didn't have the energy to transform. I had to overcome this. The greavers charged us, and knocked Kara and Eldore aside. Caesar attacked one, but it tackled him, and trapped him underfoot. Leonard attacked the one on top of Caesar, and meanwhile the other one was looking at me and Yulie with hungry eyes.

I quickly came up with what is most likely my dumbest, most epic strategy ever. The greaver came running at us, and so I ran towards it as well. It opened its mouth wide, ready to chomp, and I dove inside! I couldn't breath, as there was a powerful stench inside its belly. I immediately regretted this decision, but it was too late to quit now. I took my spear out, and started wildly stabbing, until I made a hole through and could see light. I reached my hands through the hole and pulled it open further. I kept pulling it open until I could fit my torso through. Yulie shrieked when she saw me rise from the greaver's back. I pulled my spear out from the hole, and stabbed at its brain until it fell.

It seemed that while I was busy doing that, Leonard and Caesar took care of the other one. Based on how clean their clothes were, I think it's safe to assume they did it in a much more sane way. So, after that little distraction, we continued on our journey, and Yulie never looked at me the same way again. Hell, I'll never look at me the same way again. Looking back on it, I can't tell if it was more stupid, or bad-a**.

Eventually, we made it to the meeting point. They used a fake princess to try to kill Leonard, and it almost worked, had it not been for Caesar shouting out to Leonard the obvious trap. Then Kara revealed herself to be the Black Knight! I suppose she did kinda put all the warning signs out.

The fake princess then turned into a Gigas. Leonard solved an odd riddle involving desecrating an old statue. Leonard got the troll-sword. Kara backed out of the fight, and Leonard and Caesar killed the Gigas.

Kara flew away with Grazel in the Monoship. I saw that Kara had left behind the fire shard I gave her.

We returned to Baccea to discover that Setti was waiting for us, very much not dead. I'd be lying if I told you I was happy to see him.

We had to travel through the Van Haven Waste to get to Sinca Village. There were many great beasts scattered throughout the wastes, and they all received my usual treatment. There were also a lot of cold caves that we had to travel through to reach our destination, but I didn't mind as much, as I recently learned some fire spells, and they kept me war.

Setti came with us, and he used a bow, which made me very uneasy. Not quite as uneasy as being directly between the City of Greed and the giant Demithor, but it was still a great uneasiness. I couldn't understand why everyone trusted him so easily

Then again, maybe I'm not one to talk. When we reached Sinca Village, Setti told us that Leonard, Caesar, Kara, and Grazel were 4 of 5 children chosen to be pactmakers for the Incorrupti in the old ages of the Dogma Wars. I wonder who the fifth is. It could be that guy in green, or Yulie, or maybe even me. Or maybe it's someone we don't know at all, but based on how things have been going, I really don't think that's it.

He then insinuated that Eldore wanted to use the Incorrupti to take over the world. I was just about to get up and kick Setti in the face, when suddenly Leonard pointed his sword at Eldore. Could Leonard seriously not see through Setti?

Then Eldore... teleported...

I think Setti knows I don't trust him. Just as Eldore teleported away, he gave be this look. It sent a chill down my spine.

And so we traveled along a path to the Dogma Rift, and I felt extraordinarily uncomfortable with Setti around, and Eldore not. Once we reached the entrance to the Dogma Rift, we set up camp. Yulie told me to stay quiet in the tent. We saw Setti working with the Magi to have them surround us. Then Leonard and Caesar popped out of their tent to reveal that they knew about Setti the entire time, and they never distrusted Eldore. Then Eldore teleported back! I'm going to have to ask him how he does that, later. They said they knew that he was Grazel, and Setti revealed that he was indeed Grazel. I really wish these guys would keep me in the loop on their plans. This is probably because of the time I chucked a spear at the Gigas. No wait, Caesar wasn't here yet then.

Grazel dropped us in a pit with a slightly stronger version of the cannon beast that Leonard had fought when he first acquired the Pale incorruptus. It slowed us down for about 2 minutes, but after that, we got out pretty easily. When we entered the Dogma Rift, we decided to split into 2 parties. Leonard, Yulie, and Eldore were to head directly for the end, whilst Caesar and I were to take the long way around to take down any ambushes that may lie in wait.

"I'm sorry we didn't tell you about our plan," Caesar said as we made our way through the dungeon, "but you gotta admit, we were pretty convincing." He continued. "I'm surprised Leonard didn't mess everything up," I responded. "I know this sounds crazy, but Leonards a lot smarter than he seems," Caesar said. I gave him a confused look.

We met back up with the rest of the group after cleaning up the Magi roaming about. Before we continued, we asked Eldore to explain everything. He said that he traveled through time to protect the princess, and that travelling through time turned him into an old man.

Aging 30 years is a small price to pay for travelling 1000 years into the future, if you ask me. Not that I would ever do that. So, we made our way to Grazel, who had already acquired the Sun Knight. For all the hype it was given, however, it went down pretty quickly. Turns out the Princess was using sealing magic, and that's why. Grazel had to retreat, and Kara took over for him. After a long fight, we defeated Kara, and Caesar convinced her to come back to our side. Unfortunately for her, the Farian in green (Shapur) didn't care for that, and he stabbed her in the back.

What he did next was most intriguing. He placed his hand over Kara's, and chanted the Black Knight's chant, and he transformed into a horribly mutated version of the Black Knight. Try as I might, I couldn't do any damage to this beautiful abomination, and it was all up to Caesar and Leonard to defeat it. After we defeated it, the man in green held the Black Knight's Ark. Very intriguing indeed...

Kara had died from the fatal stab wound through her back side, and the ruins began to collapse. The Princess summoned up somekind of... air-ship thing (Shahgna), and we flew off into safety. We returned to Balandor, happily ever after...

After reading my chroniclings of our adventure, Eldore deemed it utter garbage, and demanded I throw it away and try to write it up correctly. Obviously, if you're reading this, you know that I did no such thing

Last night I had a dream. The strangest I had ever seen.

I was riding on a great dragon, and I was fighting against the Pale Incorruptus, who was riding on a giant Bigelow. A fantastic battle ensued, and in the end I killed the Pale Incorruptus. I stood above Leonard's corpse in victory, and I took his ark and chanted,
"O Wizel, White Warrior, Weilder of the ancient sword, grant me your power! Verto!"

Yulie cried as she watched me turn into the horrible monstrosity vaguely resembling the Pale Incorruptus. Then the Bigelow swallowed her up.

The dream really made me think: Could I really do that to Leonard?

Could I really do that to Yulie?

Could I really resist the temptation?

FIND OUT NEXT TIME ON DRAGON BA-... I MEAN, PALE INCORRUPTUS CHRONICLES!

And that's the end of the first part of my WKC fan-fiction thing. Don't worry, it get's much better after this point.
