the world is blind
it does not see
the pain
that we grieve

we hide behind
fake smiles and laughs
and pretend
thats everything is okay

then one day
we will crack
hidden emotions will flood out
anger
frustration
longing
depression
unimaginable pain
will flood from
our dark black souls

they will choke the life
from out lungs
as we drown in our sorrows
but till that day comes
we wear our painted smiles
