A screen capture depicts him with an Emeraldback Lion at night in Durem in the 11 o'clock position with a strength (+) rod cast with a maximum power throw. I suggest you take a look at what he posted. Here is a little of what he had to say about the Emeraldback Lions.

The Strength rod has more space near the shoreline, making it the best rod for reeling in the currently available fish.

1: Fish at Durem
2: Fish at night
3: Fish between the 10 and 11 o'clock positions.
4: Try using bait-A
I caught two of them that way. If spots really have anything to do with catches, I circled where I got my best fish, the upper left area being where I caught the Emeraldbacks.

Ever since Raijin Z posted this, word has spread across Gaia about his catches. In this thread in the International Gaia Fishing Association, people really start telling the fish tales about others who may have caught Lions. Greqrg is probably talking about Raijin Z here.

yea i got 3 lionfish, 2 were diamondbacks and one was a rubyback, in 3 different games and all 3 times i got errors, and the email doesnt work so i cant do anything about it.

Yeah my girlfriend got a one, on her first time fishing using the basic rod and grade f bait. It was the first fish she caught too. She spent two more hours trying to fish and then lost when she tried to save she lost it due to an error.

don't try to catch one my sister and boyfriend both caught them and there is a glitch on them which makes it not save your bucket due to an error so you lose everything you caught the same thing goes with the whales T.T

I caught an Emeraldback a couple days ago, but lost it to an error. I can offer a tip though: they pull very hard when they zig-zag. In other words, if you find that something you hooked is spending a lot of time at each turn it makes, then it's probably an Emeraldback Lion.

I think the image says alot! But i tried to save right away and got an error. This was earlier in the day. So instead of going to the store, i posted in the lost fish thread and signed off. I had to go to work. Now i come home and decide i'm going to buy some more bait and go fishing again. And quess what's there? My Lionfish is in my inventory!

is there a hint to knowing when you caught a rare fish. how can you tell if it is one. i can tell the difference between fish and junk at durem but i havnt caught a lion fish. so is there some thing it does when its on the line
Don't let the fish go even if you think it's a junk. I've caught two daimondback lions before which I thought were tires!X_x

You don't neccessarily need to upgrade your rod, I caught an emeraldback lion with a strength rod, before I upgraded the rod.

Not a ruby, but I got an emeraldback, and I coulda swore it was junk as I reeled it in... I dunno, I been usin D bait for awhile and I havn't caught a single rare... read somewhere they might be turned off completely...

They're not turned off. ^^;
And the gembacks use almost three seconds before they turn and move the other way. They're also very fast/strong.

No, you don't need an upgraded rod, but it helps.
And the best position to catch any of the gembacks is: anywhere.
Oh, and rubybacks are only catchable during the dusk/dawn period wink
Day will give you a diamondback, and night will give you emeraldback.

The one I caught was very slow. This may have changed, however. Dunno. I remember reading something from a mod about how now you wouldn't even know you hooked a rare until you reeled it all the way in.
