Well, I suppose it's been a while since I last gave an update on my life. Brief synopsis: Nothing real eventual up until March, when I went to visit a good friend that lives in Virgina. Over the course of my stay, it occurred to me that I'm on a hamster wheel in my life. Running fast, but going nowhere. So I decided to stay with this friend. Thus breaking up with current boyfriend as I had no idea when I would be returning. Since I moved here a little over a month ago, I've lost at least 13 pounds, got my driver's permit and been working on saving up for a car or a place to move into so I'm not living in my friend's parents' basement. Need car first so that I don't have to rely on my friend or his folks to take me to work and back. The walmart up here is not much better than the one I worked at in GA. The management is actually worse. Been looking for a new job with better pay and better hours. Maybe try getting a county position or something. Anyway, Also since I moved here I had a stomach flu, a few weeks later I have Strep Throat on top of a Sinus Infection. Much joy in that.
Anyway, since moving here I went to the Museum of Fine Art in Richmond. There are some interesting pieces of history in there. Wandered the African gallery first and learned a few things about the culture and history. Saw some wonderful pieces and some that were just silly. There was also a section for South Asian art, went in there, mostly from India, Buddhist and Hindu art. Some pieces so detailed that it made me blush. Forgot to take camera so no pictures from there.
Also went on a visit to Jamestown, the historical Jamestown, with Pocahontas and John Smith and all that. Found that the original landing site was a few hundred feet from shore since the river had eroded a lot since then. Oh well. Was still interesting. Went into an area where several bodies were found in the foundation. It was weird to be walking over the foundations of one of the first buildings ever built by the Settlers. Got creeped out by the old church and gaveyard on the site. The place felt chilly and oppressive when i went in there. Sadly no orbs on the photos I did manage to take with my electronic paperweight. the chuch inside the church more of the inside some graves outside the church another grave Some mural thing I have some other pictures but I was too lazy to upload them all.
Also went to a place called Maymont Park in Richmond. Went there twice so far since moving here. Forgot camera on second go though. The place is beautiful. It's a free park that has animals and gardens. There's a Japanese garden that has a waterfall and sakura trees. They weren't in bloom the first time we went, well not all of them anyway. We joked that the only thing in bloom at the time was the algae. There is a Koi pond, but sadly nothing to feed the koi. Maybe next time will remember to bring some bread or something. there's also an Italian Garden area that has roses, tulips and some kind of hanging flower that smells so good. Again it wasn't in bloom the first time we went when I had an something to take pictures with. The place is so beautiful. I could spend all day in there just walking amongst the trees and flowers. I hope to be able to go again some time soon. There is also a children's Farm where they have a kind of petting zoo. most of the animals were put away though since the times that we came it was really cold out.
One of the trees that was actually in bloom some flowers that are trying to bloom A kind of waterfall thing, not the one in the Japanese Garden. Just one randomly. and the gray fox
Some kittens were born on the property a few weeks ago. Two black and white ones and two tabbies. I adopted one of the black and white ones, naming him Satoshi. Isn't he cute? Anyway, that pretty much wraps up my life. Feel free to leave a comment if you like or send a PM. Which ever. I don't come onto Gaia that often anymore so who knows. Much love, ~Kit
