“Ouch! Raidon, aim for the net not my head.” Tomo called out to his brother who was on the soccer field. He was sitting in the bleachers drawing him practicing. People would think it’s a self-portrait, but he didn’t care. They were twins after all. Tomo looked down at his drawing. It was all most done.

“Tomo heads up.” Raidon yelled. Tomo set the sketch beside him, closed his eyes, and caught the ball. He opened his and dropped the ball, amazed at what he saw. He was sitting Indian style, in a field, in front of a black grand piano. At the piano sat a girl with black hair and eyes of blue. She was playing something he had heard but didn’t know where. Suddenly the girl stopped in the middle of the song. It seemed to Tomo that she didn’t know what the next part was. He got up and walked over to the bench where the girl was seated. “Need some help?” offered Tomo. The girl slid over to make room for him. Tomo had never played the piano in his life, but, not knowing why, he knew how to play the song. He placed his fingers on the piano keys and commenced where the girl, who had easily captured his attention, paused.

After finishing the song for her, Tomo turned to girl that sat beside him, looking into her eyes. There was something about them that drew him in. He leaned in. She did the same. Just as their lips were to meet a cry of a fierce bird was heard. It was so fearsome both jumped up, knocking over the black bench, on which they were seated. Tomo looked around wondering where the loud shriek had originated. Tomo directed his focus back to the girl. She looked at him with awe. “Who are you,” he asked the black haired beauty.

“My name is Ayane.” She replied. Use another word

“I’m Tomo.” The alarming bellow rang again. Ayane sighed. “What’s wrong?”

“It’s time for us to go.” Ayane answered. She turned to the piano and started to play the same song. The bird’s cry was yet again. Soon after the song was complete a giant shadow shrouded the meadow in darkness. A strong gust of wind followed. Debris flew everywhere. Tomo sheltered his eyes from the fragments of the ground. All of a sudden the rapid wind ceased. Tomo opened his eyes again. Standing about 10 yards away stood a massive bird with crimson feathers.

“What is that?” He asked starring at the bird.

“Uncle Zen.”

“That thing is your uncle?!”

“No silly. Just get on and I can explain when we get to my sister’s house.” Tomo reluctantly followed Ayane and hoped on the giant birds back. Soon they were flying in the clouds.
