The years have gone by,
the seasons change.
The wind has turned it's course,
but all still remains.

I told you I loved you once,
and I still do.
Time has left me on the outside though,
but it's okay if it's for you.

You see I never stopped caring,
don't think I ever will.
So remember that for me,
forever and until.

But my friend,
there is something I must share.
Meant to be a treasure, should be treated better?
I think that's only fair.

Your soft skin, gentle warmth,
it makes me sad to see it so.
You say it's love, but if it is,
that's not how it should go.

One should be treasured,
and taken at the utmost care.
I can't help but think it such a waste,
to find it far from there.

But it's your choice,
not one of mine.
I'll be on your side,
for now and for all time.

Either way I just know,
where I'm going won't be far.
