Secrets
I'm currently writing a story. Hope you like it
Secrets pt 4

The center of the underground laboratory was made of steel and thick glass. You could see every single room and even the floors beneath us. The only thing I could see supporting the center of the underground lab was steel supports that you could see running through the thick glass. The only walls that weren’t glass were at the far ends of the lab.

“Why is the core of this place glass?” I asked.

“It makes it much easier to monitor our scientists. If anything goes wrong we can see a few floors down at a time. Plus it looks neat.” Adam replied

“Fabulous…weirdo.” I whispered the last part to myself.

Adam then began to drag me down a hallway when on the left I saw a door. I looked at it and knew it was not a place I wanted to go.

“That is where you will be going in a bit Miss Jamie.” Adam said looking down at me.

“Why what’s in there?”

“After we analyze and inject the right amount of serum into you, we will place you into one of the holding compartments in there.

…good God…

I heard a door open behind us. One of the people that was with us on the jet had appeared. With the man was a petit woman standing behind him.

The woman spoke in a shrill voice, “The case is here Adam, which room do you want it in?”

“Put it in room 5. That is where this girl will be going soon.” Adam replied darkly not glancing at me this time.

“Is that the last batch the professor is making for us for awhile?” the woman asked.

“Possibly, the University is getting suspicious. We will eventually bring him here but we just have to lay low right now, especially since Dave I terminated Dave around that area and that idiot Francis stole that armored truck right across the street from the University. I told him to wait until it was out of that perimeter! I don’t want the authorities around the area sniffin’ around.” Adam replied to the woman then turned to me, “Jamie, feel free to wander around for a little bit. You have nowhere to go and if you do anything stupid there will be severe consequences.” He stared at me long and hard to make sure it was engraved in my brain.

I had three pairs of eyes staring at me now. “Yeah whatever.” I was trying to hide my terrified feeling but my voice cracked so that didn’t work. I then walked away quickly wanting to get away from the people who wanted to experiment on me. I came to a hallway with another door that creeped me out. There seemed to be slight dents in it that came from the other side.

…I don’t want to know what’s in there…

I looked farther down the hall to see another door, but this was made of wood.

…yay not steel…

I pushed the door open and found out it was a lounge. “At least they have a normal room, geeze…” I said to myself.

I decided to sit at the bar and pour myself a drink. As I sat there with my Scotch I wondered if there was SOME way out of this place. It was an island though so where could I go? Was the jet still here? I don’t know how to fly a damn jet. Is there a boat? I don’t even know where I am…Ugh this is hopeless. I finished off the third glass of Scotch and suddenly felt drained even with that seven hour nap I had on the jet. I saw a wrap-around couch at the far end of the room that practically called my name. I dragged myself to the couch and passed out. As I was dreaming I heard random voices in my head.

“…now. Not…time….wake up…”

“Which….use?”

“…batch. They…..improved.” Then they faded.

“Holy crap I think my head is going to explode.” I mumble to myself as I start to get up from the couch, but my arms wouldn’t move. “The hell…” I begin to wake up more fully and notice I wasn’t on the couch anymore. I was on a rolling bed with my arms, legs, and head strapped down. I begin to panic and my breathing becomes heavy and fast; the walls begin to close in on me. Just then a woman in a lab coat enters my room and sees that I have no idea what is going on. She gives me a sympathetic look, “I’m sorry sweetie.”

“Don’t you say sorry to me! You’re injecting s**t into me that I don’t want!” I yell at her. I begin to struggle.

“Stop struggling, it’s not like you’re going to get out.” She told me as she opened up an air-locked case. I tried to look over but could only see her back. “You have already been injected with starter chemical to awaken the chromosome. This,” she said as she turned to me holding a large syringe with a light purple colored liquid inside, “is the chemical with a strand of proteins that will aid in fully activating the chromosome.”

She began to walk toward me. “I’m not going to lie to you. This is going to hurt.”

The woman then jammed the needle into my arm. I didn’t feel anything besides the pressure of the needle. Then, the pain hit me like a freight train. An intense burning in my arm and I could feel it creep across my chest and into my head as it began to flow through my veins quickly. I tried to flail my arms and legs or grab at something but I couldn’t move. I started to see black spots because of the severe pain. It felt like someone was stabbing me with thousands of needles from the inside. I so desperately wanted to curl up into a ball and claw at my skin to get this wretched thing out of me. I suddenly felt enraged, wanting to break free and destroy whatever and whoever was in my way. The nurse began to scramble in a drawer for a sedative to calm me down. She found one and ran over to me about to stick me again but then…

RRIIIPP!! I had torn one of my hands free from the restraints and smacked the needle away. I then grabbed the woman by the shoulder and puller her close to my face.

“Try that again and you die.” I growled and threw her against the wall. I didn’t feel like myself, I felt better…like I could do anything. I used my free arm to untie myself and leapt to the door. As I slammed the door open, a large group of people that looked like a S.W.A.T. team stood before me. They were holding tranquilizer guns with their little lasers pointing all over my body.

“Fire!”

I looked down and saw myself covered in small needles. I began to feel dizzy and collapsed to my knees.

“Stay back she is still dangerous!” one of the men shouted.

I lashed out in the air, trying to get those bastards that shot me. I got more and more tired and lay on the floor and passed out.
