The Four Friends
Axel sat next to Rixa's bed, having inmediately looked for her when he heard what had happened while he, Roxas and Xion were gone.He had an argument with Saix when he ran into him moments earlier, saying that Rixa did nothing to be punished the way Saix had done.Saix scoffed and left him alone, leaving to tend to his injuries.
"Oh Rixa, I'm sorry I left.None of this would have happened if I had stayed."
Rixa wouldn't open her eyes, her only movement being her slow breathing.Roxas and Xion were close to the door, staring at the floor without looking up.They felt bad as well knowing this had happened, and that they were unable to stop it.There was only one question in all their minds:Why had Saix been so rough on Rixa, using too much unnecessary force on her, almost killing her in the process?Axel knew Saix had a tendency to go berzerk when he fought, but this was unlike anything he'd ever seen from him.
"Dammit Saix, why her?What is it about her that makes you look at her differently from the rest of us?"
"Axel, it wasn't your fault.", Xion whispered, "We had no way of knowing Saix was planning to attack and nearly kill her while we were gone."
"And at least she's alve.Rixa's a tough girl.", Roxas added, stepping away from the door and patting Axel on his back, "She wouldn't get herself killed easily."
Rixa let out a whimper, making Axel grab her hand to try to comfort her.
"Look at us.Hovering over her like we actually feel.", Axel joked, "Xemnas and Saix would laugh if they saw us like this."
"Who cares what they think?", Roxas yelled, "They're not any better than us.We're supposed to be the same yet they act so superior to us."
"Xemnas is our Superior, Roxas.And Saix is his right-hand man.Of course they act superior to us.", Axel said, "It's only natural..."
"It still isn't right, you guys.", Xion whispered, "We haven't done anything to be treated like lowly servants to them."
They all stayed quiet for a moment, pondering on Xion's last sentence.She was right, they had no right to act high and mighty, but still...Xemnas WAS The Superior for a reason.
"Axel...is that...you?"
They looked up and saw that Rixa had opened her eyes and was staring directly at them.Her bandages were bleeding slightly, but it was under control.
"Sorry if you feel cold.", Axel said, "We had to take the coat off to tend to your wounds, so we put your old clothes back on."
Rixa looked at her clothing, not recognizable to her eyes, but suddenly remembered the dark night when she had wandered around in The City That Never Was.
"That day was when Xemnas found me...", she whispered while clinging to her knees.
The other three joined in a group hug, trying to keep her warm while showing their concern for her.Rixa smiled at them, happy that she had such good friends in them.
"What would I do without you guys?", Rixa said.
"Probably kill Saix without a second thought.", Roxas joked.
"Roxas!", Xion yelled, "What kind of thing is that to say?"
"He's right, you know.", Axel laughed, "Little Rixa's a hot air balloon when it comes to her temper."
Rixa glared at Axel and grabbed him, tackling him to the floor and tickling him.Roxas and Xion laughed as they watched Axel try to wrestle Rixa off.
