Bathed In Moonlight
Bathed in moonlight;
some see it as such a taboo.
They say it casts a chill of fright,
but, what else is it that we look to
in the dead of night?
The stars above shine dim in our world,
though they hold peace of mind for other worlds at distance.
But their shimmering luminescent gusto is only unfurled
to those lodged in the presence of their radiance.
What else is there for us to look to here in dark times? What to behold?
We will fail in the light
as the night comes affright.
I find no better cure
than to bathe in the moonlight;
to let the dim grey light wisps caress you with bitter kindness,
and lift you into the sky
to see what is awry,
so you will see what you must be
to become you so pure.
yes, to bathe in the moonlight
is to see in the night
even if the light to view
vanishes with a new moon.
