May once again, reached into her canvas bag and prepared for the worst, reaching for some select herbs and chalk that could make a binding circle in a pinch.
She grabbed a stray stick that seemed to be dragged in by workers and movers and started to poke around the stack of boxes from which the noise originated.
After a few moments of poking, a small, feathered brown ball with angry yellow eyes sqwaked a loud KWEH sound and proceeded to peck her in revenge. After a few pecks, it stood there and flitted, seemingly unable to fly.
May took out a few seeds she had in her bag used for some select spells and shared her treat with the little baby bird. The bird hesitantly picked at the seeds, debating whether or not she was genuine or not in her offering. After a few more moements, he allowed her to pick him up and place him right on top of her knit yellow hat.
so, looks like we're roomates she said with a smile, to which the little bird replied Kweeeh! loudly still, but more pleased in tone. Since he seemed to only be able to make that one sound, she decided to call him by it, Kweh
And as long as the little guy didn't mind her unpleasant smoking habit, she didn't mind him being a permanent part of her new home.
After all
Nobody likes to be alone.
And so May in the same day, established residence in her new home and found a new loyal companion
What more could a girl ask for in life?
