Have you ever seen a movie about armageddon? One where the sky the world is in flames, the sky is covered in smoke, and the sun is dim and red? That's the view out my window today. Living in California has its downsides. The latest two fires are big- the smoke is covering about half the sky. Most of it is just brown and unhealthy looking, but one area looks like a really red sunset. Which is strange, because it's two in the afternoon, and the sun doesnt set in the east. There's one low band that's a dark, bruise red color, it's rather disturbing. It seems to be spreading, there's less brown and more burgundy. And of course the sun looks red, too, and the light is red. All the birds are going crazy, flying everywhere. There's ash in the air, I can't go outside without breathing in a ton. This is what I'd imagine the sky in hell looks like. I'm safe, but it is still frightening, even if it's all familiar. My parents are a lot closer, and my aunt's house is only a mile away from the Yorba Linda fire. It would be horrible if they lost their house. I don't like worrying. I can't wait for winter.
