This does not belong here, it goes in the "Chatterbox"!!
Does this sound famillar? it does. it reminds me of Final Fantasy VII Guild ALL Over again...v_v..how long you been Gaia since when? 2007-2008?
I'm not bashing no one but I hate people bashing over people's topics. If they misplaced a topic in certin forum for instantance the GCD, then let mods did their job,not you. it's not your job in first place to tell what goes.
If you want to be a MOD, you need to go here.
This is an old quote to remember you not to do that:
Ushigami
Recently, well...
Actually, it's rather sad, but us mods have only taken note of it recently, so I'm guessing it's been going on for a long time now, and it's a really big problem. For the guild, it's members, and prospective members alike. It's probably not one that any of you have taken note of, or have even thought to be a problem, but it IS a problem, and now it's being addressed, finally.
What is it, since I now have your attention? Why, it's quite simple.
Tell me what's wrong with this following conversation.
----------
Person A: Hi lol I jus wanted 2 now how evrybody is doing. I lik eFinal Fantsy X! xd
Person B: WTF, man, shut up and go away, freakin' noob. Read the f**king rules why don't ya.
Person C: Oh my GAWD, not another retard. >.< When's a mod gonna come over and lock this?
Person D: One word: N00B.
Person E: Bump.
----------
What's wrong? It's the ATTITUDE of the members as they respond to the new and inexperienced member.
THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE.
Yeah, folks who type like that are a problem, and they can be annoying. But telling them that they are a retarded noob will NOT solve the problem. You'll hurt somebody's feelings, the person will leave without learning how to properly post a thread or what the rules of the guild are, and the guild ends up looking like a pit of jerks.
Just because someone doesn't know what they are doing doesn't mean that you can beat them down like that. It is unjust, unfair, and even humiliating to the person that is recieving the verbal beating. If the person was warned countless times and supplied with the proper information by a moderator, then let the MOD deal with it. It is the job of not only the moderators, but the WHOLE GUILD, to make new members feel welcome, and if they do end up breaking rules, to guide them into the right direction. Name calling does not teach new members how to type coherently, or how to make a proper on topic thread.
Think about it, if you were in their shoes, while you were in, let's say, the fourth grade or so. You still can't type well, but you can understand well enough what others are saying. It's your first time in a 'guild,' and you're excited about making your first thread/post/whatever. You make this new thread, talking about something you like, wanting to see if others like the same thing. Instead of being treated to other's opinion on the topic of the thread (which is off topic in the guild where it was made), you've got at least five or so people telling you how stupid, retarded, n00bish, and utterly horrible you are for making this thread.
How would you feel if someone did that to you, at that age? I know I would have broken down into tears and never gone to the website, or near a computer, for a very, very long time.
If you cannot post in any thread with anything constructive to people who accidentally break the rules, then do NOT POST ANYTHING AT ALL. If you MUST post something, you have to be polite and considerate about it, and NOT BE A JERK. We get a lot of new, rather YOUNG members who've recently played the game, or who just think the characters look cool.
I do also realize that some people who are older, heck, even around my age, will type like that, and disregard the rules even when they are pointed in the correct direction or supplied with a link to them. As I've said previously, a MODERATOR will deal with them, not the members. If you are not a moderator, then just leave it be until a moderator gets to it, or PM a mod with a link so that they can get to it on the double.
Whatever you do, do NOT beat down on a fellow member because they did something wrong. And if you see a moderator doing the same, whether it't to another member or yourself, PM another moderator or myself about it, and include the name of all parties involved, mod and member alike. We will then deal with it promptly to the best of our ability.
I do not want new folks coming into this guild only to quit it after a day or so because they were treated like crap by the members OR moderators. It reflects poorly not only on the guild or Gaia, but on us as humans. People come here to safely and happily discuss all matters pertaining to Final Fantasy VII, not to be told how 'retarded' or 'n00bish' they are.
It's disrespectful, it's counter-productive, and it's just plain STUPID.

So,next time you want to bash someone on certin thread, let the mods do thier job not you.it's not your job in the first place.
