This is my favourite series Tanemura-san has made. : D I was (Kinda sorta) a fan of Fullmoon wo Sagashite, but I started reading The Gentlemen's Alliance + because I love the movie 'League of Extrodinary Gentlemen' and for a moment, I was like ' HOMG, no wai. A manga for that movie!' X3 As I started to read it, I instantly became obsessed. Niwa got the poster though. -Sad- I bought mine in U.S, where it had been out for a while... Only Canada still had the first edition.
So now I have volumes 1-3 of the 4 that are currently out! Now, for the real reason I made this entry.
SHIZUMASA-TAKANARI

Tanemura-san made me feel so horrid for hating Shizumasa. D; I didn't really care that he was sick and all (By the way, for anyone who's wondering, I'm guessing he has pumonary tuberculosis (TB), which is why he coughs blood in the lastest chapter.), I just was so dissapointed that the Shizumasa I really enjoyed reading about was a total d**k. I mean, seriously, it was so adorable watching him be all nice to Haine, and then, at the end of book 2, it's like;
WHAM!
Especially in book 3 on. He's an a**. It's like watching your favourite singer turn out to be a fraud. (Still likes Ashley Simpson, even if she's a fake. -o- ) So, as I read more and more, and Takanari-san turned nicer and nicer, I started to like him more, despite all his aggrivating attempts at a pass for Haine... Too much like KyoTohru (Hate).
Then I started liking Takari more and more, though inwardly, the bitchy Shizumasa was rather striking to me. <3 Then... -Hic- Then...
TOYA!!! DEAR GOD WHY!?
Toya, Toya, Toya... He was the only character I could count on to be the same... Why is he the worst of all!? He only wants revenge on his parents, and despite the back-story from volume... I forget, but it was called 'One Who Walks in the Moonlight'. And it was all about how Takanari had saved Toya, and how they were best friends... He was so evil, but so adorable! And now he's all evil! I wish Toya would come back...
And so, back on track. I read how it was decided who would be the heir to the Toguu family, and I admit, for the most part, Shizumasa's reasoning made a lot of sense, but then he frigged up. He found the pair of stones first and grabbed his, but scared that Takanari wasn't far behind, and that he might have to 'die', he hid Takanari's in the rocks on a cliff above a rocky river. Hiding in the bushes, Shizumasa waited because he felt guilty. Takanari found his despite it being hidden, but fell over the side of the cliff, arms bloodied and clinging to the rock for dear life. It seemed that the cliff was eroded, because the cliff was like this:

So, as my badly done diagram depics, Takanari had nothing to hold onto but the rocks above him. Crying for his brother's help, Shizumasa came out of the bushes, but instead of helping him, he left him and ran to return his rock to his grandfather. Takanari then fell into the water, to be hospitalized, and become his brother's shadow. And so Takanari hates Shizumasa. And Shizumasa hates Shizumasa...
This is where I feel bad. Shizumasa feels an insane ammount of regret for leaving his brother, and because he thinks he is going to die soon, he wants Takanari to kill him for all the things he has done to him. I don't understand where Haine fits into all of this, considering Takanari was the one who always loved Haine, but apparently when he dies, he wants two people to be there with him; Takanari and Haine. -Cry cry-
Now I don't mind ShizumasaxHaine engagement as much as I once did. I REALLY want Shizumasa to be happy, he's lived his whole life sickly, and the cage he feared so much is not the one he thought it would be. At first, he didn't want to be locked away from the world at the heir's shadow... Now he's caged by his own grief. It's truely depressing. Tanemura-san is a master of manipulating emotions! D; I want to continue reading this series forever. I have anumber of demands though:
1.Happy ending for Haine, Shizumasa (Especially), and Takanari.
2. Touya to be nice again.
3. More MaoraxMaguri. (Is it just me, or is Maora 'the man' in that pair!? O___o )
4. SenrixUsshio.
5. Kusame to tell Haine how he feels, and more plot for him and Komaki.
6. Tsukasa air-time. <3
That's it! Not much, right!? XD
