Well, wouldn't you know it, I took another vacation and left you all wondering if I'm dead.
Truth be told, Thanks to caffine, I'm still alive.
I flew in to Oakland at 1:30 this morning from seattle. So I'm a little tired.
Let me recount what happened on my trip to Seattle:
1.Flew in a few weeks ago. Spent the day hanging around Pike's Market, then headed off on a ferry to Bainbridge island. On Bainbridge, we went to the people house who we made a houseswap with, named Len and Stell. They were there for the first couple days, which made it easier to do all the stuff nessasary to keep their dog from going insane or dying.
2.Let me clarify-these are a retired couple who have no children in the house(And what a house-3 beds, 2 1/2 baths, 6 STORIES, 7 tv's(one is like half again as big as Nate's), sattalite TV with over 1000 channels, ect) and so treat their Cavalier King Charles Spaniel(said with a comical british accent) like a, well, king. It refuses to go to sleep at night unless it's on it's special pillow on their bed with someone there(meant I got their huge bed though) Needs special dog chow 3 times a day, needs dog treats, attention, combing, bathing, shampoo, and likes carrots.(???) I got stuck with the job as dog caretaker, but it wasn't as bad as I make it sound.
3.Went to gardens and generic tourist traps and Indian stuff.
4.Took a ferry to Victoria for 2 days. It wasn't too great, it rained most of the time.
5.Took the ferry back. Delays, blah blah blah. Got to Port Angles, about a 2 hour drive from Bainbridge, where we'd take another ferry to seattle, spend the afternoon hanging out there, then fly back to Oakland.
This is where it begins to break down.
First, we got off the ferry, and tried to get on the highway. There was a big accident blocking the road, so we took a detour. The detour was in COMPLETE GRIDLOCK. After an hour of sittting in our car, moving at approximately 0mph, we found out some guy in an RV had gone off the road, blocking both lanes. So not only was the highway blocked, the detour was too!
After another 2 hours, they cleared the highway. We turned around, got on that and zoomed off. We almost missed our ferry to Seattle.
By this time, we were almost going to be late for our flight. So we grabbed dinner, shooped to the airport, dumped our rental, and got our asses into the airport.
But then the plane was delayed an hour and a half, forcing us to mope around in the terminal.
But eventually we got on the plane. they then told us that a piece had come loose on the EMERGENCY EXIT DOOR. confused Doesn't sound too safe to me. When they fixed that, we took off, a half hour later.
Turns out, I got my seat assignment next to Ms. Gibson, our schools A-C counselor. Freaky, no?
Okay, I'm tired of talking now. Enjoy yourself.

*sighs and stares at the ground* at least leave a retarded message on my phone once in a while. you know, even psychos' like me also get lonely and miss friends. expecially if they've known them for how long? 5, 6 years?
