For those that do not know, DHL is a shipping company. The guys with the bright yellow trucks and red DHL on them.
This is my ordeal: A good friend moved out of the country, DHL picked up his boxes and he flew out the next day. A few days later the DHL driver came back, telling me that the incorrect paperwork was filled out and that the boxes were sitting at the main place and proceeded to give me the address and the name of whom I should talk to. So I go down to DHL to make sure that they have all of the boxes. One box is broken.
I am able to ship off 4 boxes that day but I have to go grab a car and take the rest home since one of them needs a fancy complicated government SED form >< And the other needs reboxing. That form is the devil.
In the end me and my friend decide that the package is worth 2500, not 6,000 and avoid the SED form entirely.
I go back to DHL, drop off the last three packages, one being a brand new 30in monitor and ship them out of the country. I also ship one server to Texas(so far I think that one went well)
Two days pass and my good friend IMs me asking what kind of tape I used. I told him clear packing tape, the one that the movers left.
My dear friend informs me that the tape on the bottom of the monitor box is now DHL tape and the monitor did not arrive.
WTF?
I had put a blanket in the bottom of that box and retaped it. So it arrives with the blanket, all the foam and the cables... and no screen.
Currently: I have gotten a call from the man who will be handling this investigation. So far nice guy and hopefully he can hunt down what happened. No company wants to think that they have a thief. He mentioned that its possible the bottom broke and a DHL worker put everything back in that they found... I'm sure he will soon realize that I'm never going to buy a story about how the heavy expensive item in the middle of the box ran astray from the rest of the contents and a worker decided "oh, guess all this foam and cables was to keep this blanky company"
neutral
Yeah... I think I prefer my friendly UPS lady over DHL any day for the rest of my life.
