Headed off to the Science Museum tomorrow, there’s a whole Pompeii collection I’ll get to see. I’ve been fascinated with Pompeii for a long, long time. In fact, it was one of the reasons that I wanted to become a Vulcanologist for a while. It’s still kind of a cool what-if-my-entire-life-were-different career choice. Although it’s slightly disturbing that I find such a destructive force of Nature fascinating, but I suppose there are weirder things. Like those people that chase tornadoes. I find tornadoes as cool as the next guy, but would you see me chasing them? Hell no! My a** would be running the other way to watch the cool footage on the news that some other fool recorded. Oh yeah, and the eastern and southern coasts can keep the hurricanes. I don’t want anything to do with those. Ditto to earthquakes and tsunami’s. What can I say, I’m landlocked so all I have to look forward to are severe thunderstorms, tornadoes and reading about all the other natural catastrophes in the newspaper.
