Why is porn so appealing?

I was wondering has anyone ever been drawn to porn. And if the answer is yes I was also wondering how you get over the urge to look at it. Is there such thing as a presence making contact with a human and when I say contact I mean physical contact. Because for the past four years I don't know if its a spirit, ghost, or some kind of demon thing but it makes physical contact with me everynight and even during the day when I am awake. Does anyone have any advice for me at all?

My friend, I've been there. I was an addict for 2 years b4 I got saved. It's simply appealing because it's a natural, yet sinful, desire of the flesh. The human body is the most beautiful thing God created. What Satan does is he takes beautiful things God created and twist it into some sick perversion. The only method I know that is powerful enough against such an addiction is pure prayer. If you really want to be freed from it, pray about it constantly, because believe it or not, the enemy is actually afraid of you. You just have to speak up in boldness and let him know who's boss. I'll pray for you too, because I know what that kind of bondage is like.

Our physical bodies are part of nature and their natural instincts are to have sex.

I personally do not find porn appealing (my sig is not porn so quit PMing me).

To answer your first question: Yes, you can get over your urge by reading the Bible. I recommend reading Romans 8:20, "Salvation from Sin, Death, and Suffering." You will know what 'carnally' means when you look it up in the dictionary.

Because the human desire to procreate is one of the most basic drives. And because of positive re-enforcement. Every time you do it, the mind is flooded with a huge dose of pleasure hormones. These set up a positive feedback loop, making it an appealing thing to do.

Yes I have been, since I was 10 years old... I know I was a overachiever little heathen. I have bean struggling with it until...yesterday! I had gotten a Jesse Duplantis dvd "what you bind you should never loose." And He quoted 2 Corinthians 10:5

See there is a demon spirit for porn, lust, perversion, whatever you want. And the thoughts of porn or to look at porn isn't your thought. Its a fiery dart put in your mind. Which is against The Word of GOD,(see above scripture) so you would need to cast it down and put into captivity in The Name of Jesus. We have power over the devils and the darkness, we don't have to take there mess. Next time satan (that limp-wristed snake in the grass... inside joke) tries to get you to sin shut him down with The Word! The same Power that raised Jesus from the dead is inside YOU!

what God's fault for giving us free will? and with that Gift we decided to spit back in his face by living in the way that he didn't intend us to live? oh yes...of course its God's fault.

no....when Adam and Eve fell they brought into us the Sinful nature that has separated us from God. even from birth we are sinful and separated from him. it is natural for us to sin b/c we are sinful beings can we work to keep from sinning? yes but only with the help of the Holy Spirit, without him we just keeping on sinning....just like the energizer bunny, we keep going and going and going....

this is an advice thread, can we not turn it into a debate thread?

As for porn, well, I've had some experience with it. It's attractive simply because people do have a drive to procreate, and some of us were curious or had another reason. It's completely and totally wrong though - I felt aweful every time I gave in to it. You get over it by praying and reading your bible. Sometimes it's just one of those things you have to give to God each day.

As for this 'prescence' that's touching you, you can overcome that. God gave us authority over things like these. The next time it comes against you, pray, or sing worship songs. Praise is a weapon, and Satan's scared of you - why else would he bother you? I would also ask for the help and advice of your youth pastor or pastor. or if you don't feel comfortable talking to them, find an adult whom you trust who is also a strong Christian. It helps having someone like that pray for you, trust me.

Blasphemy! My God is a righteous and holy God who is perfect in all things. He is everything. Though he can't be sin/evil, for then he wouldn't be God. Humans were given a temptation and we as a race failed it, not God. Nature can't tell you a thing. Last time I checked, I wasn't guided by a shrubery or a blade of grass. Instead, I listen to an almighty and forgiving God. Please don't point the finger at people you probably don't even know that well. scream
