A sleepy dreamy tealblood entered the conversation, placing her hands on Mahmud's shoulders from behind as if to keep him trapped. Her hands were soft and gentle but held him firmly so he wouldn't run off. The sirens were slowly starting to surround the orangeblood like a pack of sharks. Flydra had been watching her girls interact with the lowblood and finally decided to join in. What a strange boy.
"Everyone joins the army. Once you hit adulthood. Are you planning to run away and live in the woods?" She smiled, letting go of his shoulders and toying with a lock of hair from one of her pigtails. She did not move from her position flanking him with the other girls.
"I suppose you could die before you reach adulthood to avoid military service. Especially with that non-violent mindset. That self defense bullshit is just another way of saying you're afraid of getting hurt." She glanced slightly to the side, watching as Scorpa wrapped up another game, likely on her way to join them soon.
"But there are things worth fighting for. Things worth suffering for. We're going to shape you up into a troll that finds Alternia to be one of those things unlike these traitorous criminals. You don't want to be like them, do you?" Flydra's eyes locked on to the poor quivering boy and did not blink for a long time.

I imagine this begins to play as the sirens close in around him...
With his newfound confidence, Wallas wanted to give that one physically demanding booth with the beautiful and dangerous women another shot. His first stop was the Watermelon Chaos section. He gripped the bat tightly, and...
He wasn't even doing that bad! It wasn't a perfect run, but he did significantly better than his first run. The tall yellowblood seemed to approve of his progress, and when she praised him, his face might have gone a little red.
Even with his newfound inner fire, Wallas was still quite nervous about approaching any game run by a seadweller. Would messing up get him culled? Were the water balloons secretly explosives? Maybe he had to be a bit daring...
He didn't do too bad, he guessed. Not amazingly (goodness that water balloon water was cold!), but not awfully. The seadweller lady was rather nice about his attempt, however, and he was shown a set of bobbleheads to pick from. When he looked at them, he swallowed nervously. What business did a redblood like him have with a prop of a bikini-clad higher-blood? Someone could accuse him of being a pervert, or trying too hard to reach beyond his station. With a shaking hand, he took the yellowblood's bobblehead. Yellow was close enough to red, right...? He was going to have to hide this.

Okay. This final stop, the Wimpy Wipeout, threatened to shut down Wallas's buzz. He remembered the look of disdain on the greenblood's face when he flopped it the first time. Sucking in a deep breath, he made another attempt...
His quad steps went a bit lumpy, but he managed to make it through (the greenblood's remarks stung a bit though). The wind chimes went amazingly though! Shocking! Unfortunately, the bouncing balls were his downfall. So close, but so far! Yet closer than he had ever been.
Thypion had almost barred him from going to participate in the watermelon smash game again after his terrible failure the night before. He just wasn't well rested enough to adequately smash - or even dodge - watermelons. This time he'd done a little better, but it still wasn't satisfactory for him. If only he had a regular sleep schedule... he was sure he'd be smashing melons right and left!

Why he even bothered to do this, Dei was not sure. He couldn't get past the quads, utterly failed the chimes, and still hadn't made it past the bouncing balls. Those stupid things... he'd be having daymares about them for weeks, he was sure of it. Briefly he wondered if it was possible to pop them, but quickly decided that was a dumb idea. The course attendant looked like a loose cannon.
It was a good thing that it was pretty warm out, or Dei was certain he'd be freezing. Regardless, he was going to bundle himself up in a towel after this... He simply nodded with whatever Lorata was saying - it was the same old stuff every time, or near about - then wandered off toward the death obstacle course.

After a quiet night, attendance is up again! Determined to prove themselves, or perhaps just bored, trolls returned to the pits of watermelon, water balloons, extreme blow dries, and ice buckets! Why do you do this to yourselves?! Oh yeah that's right! Because YOU will be the best! Show us the fruits of your training tomorrow!
