[PRP] Forging a Friendship (Shin and Wolfheart)

Shinkuriyuu couldn't help but let out a chuckle at the banter between the stallion and his wolf companion. Honestly, he thought the two of them were a perfect match, they balanced one another. Also, they both had hearts of gold, helping anyone they could. He was glad Wolfheart had asked him if he had a herd, it would be nice to have a place to call home. One that helped a family of ferrets definitely sounded like a place he would be honored to be part of. When asked about his mate, he began to talk about his lady, the love in hie voice was obvious.

"I hope I have given you enough about her, without going overboard. I tend to get a bit carried away when I talk about her, so I hope you didn't mind too much. Do you have a mate as well?"he asked.

“Not at all! Not at all!” Wolfheart chortled, shaking his head. “I have found that oftentimes the ones we hold most dear tend to have such affects on us. Indeed, if you hadn’t talked so fondly and so long of her then I might have been tempted to think you more friends than mates.” His blue eyes gleamed impishly. “Honestly, Wolfheart,” Mangekyō rolled his eyes at his bonded. “You are hopeless.” “What?” The stallion feigned indignance. “You know I speak the truth. Take for example a certain young maiden you know…” His wolf companion shook his head. “That is not of any concern here. She and I have separate priorities. We agreed some time ago what that meant for us.” Wolfheart bobbed his head, humming, “Hmm, yes. But there is a difference in how you speak of her. There is no doubt you are fond of one another, though you certainly have not spoken of her as Shin spoke of his mate. Be that as it may, however,” he decided not to tease his friend too much on the matter. There was no shame in having passing relations with others. Nor did he wish to give the impression he thought as much. Indeed, he himself once had such desires to sow his wild oats. Yet that all ceased when he happened upon his mate. Returning his gaze to Shin, Wolfheart dipped his head, “I do indeed have a mate. Her name is Chocolat Chaud and she is as dark as the confection from which part of her name derives. Gentle and sweet, she is as soothing to my soul as aloe to a burn. She is not to be trifled with, however, for she has quite the temper when tested.” He chuckled jovially once more, picturing the enraged features of the mare when put out. Her wispy hair billowed about her, adding an extra fierceness to her already withering glower. “A force to be reckoned with to be sure…and I would not have it any other way.”

Shinkuriyuu nodded, those you were closest to tended to get you excited to talk about them. He laughed lightly when Wolfheart mentioned that he would have not thought he had been talking about his mate if he didn't talk the way he had. This stallion was someone who loved his mate very much, he wanted the world to know how much. He listened to the friends discuss things a little again, it seemed Mangekyō had someone he had a relationship with, though didn't sound as serious. Yes, people could be busy, but from what little he was gathering, seemed they weren't really mate level. Would they ever be, he didn't know, maybe. Then Wolfheart began speaking about his own mate, which caused him to smile softly.

"Sounds like you have quite a mare as a mate, Wolfheart. I would love to meet her one day, considering how highly you speak of her. And Mangekyō, perhaps you will figure things out for yourself,"he spoke. He looked behind him, to make sure the mice we doing well.

The purple and tan stallion smiled warmly, bobbing his head in agreement. “I certainly do. Sometimes I still find myself wondering how I came to be so lucky.” “I often wonder the same myself,” his wolf companion chimed in. Wolfheart turned to gaze at his friend whose expression was unreadable as ever, save for the faintest curl at the corners of his mouth which revealed a smile. “Ohho! Your snark has returned in full now that the weather has abated I see,” he laughed heartily. The two friends certainly enjoyed teasing one another. All in good fun, of course. “I merely speak the truth is all.” Mangekyō replied loftily, though his tone held clear amusement. He might have even shrugged his shoulders to aid in the effect, if not for the mice riding upon his back. His thoughts turning to the small family, the wolf began to wonder if they had not passed by their intended location by accident. He felt certain they should have arrived by now. “Shin,” he cast a cursory glance over his shoulder at the small ones before continuing. “The place you spoke of earlier…shouldn’t we have come upon it? Our friends grow weary.” Wolfheart hesitated for a moment. Drawing to a halt, he furrowed his brows and cast about for any sign of the colony of mice. “He is right. The rain did cause a delay, but we have walked for quite some time. You do not think the others have moved on, do you? Or perhaps they have just taken shelter?” The stallion knew very little of this area and, so, relied heavily on his counterpart’s familiarity. Hopefully, it would not be long before they could allow the mice to settle in their new abode.

Shinkuriyuu laughed lightly at the banter, he was quite enjoying the company of the two. He was just about to comment on it, when he heard the question about being in the right location by now. He had been so lost in the story, he had almost forgotten where they were going. Looking around, he noticed the tree he had seen before. He nodded his head, scanning the ground, for any sign of the mice he had noticed earlier.

"Excuse me, sir, maybe I can help,"a little voice spoke up politely. Shin looked around to see one of the mice he had been helping closer to his head. She looked like the night sky and had stunningly blue eyes. He motioned to Wolfheart and Mangekyō to come closer, before turning his attention to the small one.

"Yes, go ahead, little one. I know we are in the place I saw other mice earlier, but I don't see any,"he replied, making sure to answer his new friends as well.

"That is because when the weather is bad, they go under the big tree for shelter. I think that is where all those you saw before are,"the little mouse spoke softly.

"Well, looks like we are headed for the big tree over there,"Shin told the other two.

Wolfheart was uncertain of their location. He did hope they were in the right place. The tiny mice were in need of proper rest and tending to, which could not be done until they located the others Shin knew of. Glancing down, he noticed the same concern filtering into the usually impassive expression of his bonded. Even Mangekyō knew they could no press on much further without the need to stop. Fortunately, one of the little ones drew their attention with a squeak. Both drew nearer to her as she relayed her knowledge of where the mice would have gone. “Ah, that does make sense,” the purple and tan stallion nodded his head. “It would have been foolish to remain outside in a tumult such as that. It’s pleasing to know too that there is a place of safety for them.” The wolf inclined his head, “Agreed. It is also good that we are that much closer. I fear infection might set in if the one’s injury is not taken care of soon.” “Right you are,” Wolfheart grinned, flicking his tail. “Then to the tree we go.” Without further ado, he started off towards the large tree. Its roots weaved in and out of the ground, seeming to stretch on for yards all around. An impressive and expansive sight to behold, to be certain. Yes, this certainly did have the makings of a wonderful shelter and home.

Shinkuriyuu nodded his head in agreement, it was smart of the mice to have such a place for the mice to seek shelter. Not only that, but if any got lost, they would all know where they could meet up. He followed the other two, making sure the mice were all safe that they were escorting. He hoped the one would not get sick from the wait for help. As the tree got closer, he had to admire how it looked.

"This tree is quite beautiful. It is obvious why it was chosen for a gathering spot for the mice. Good thing one of the mice knew where the others would be,"he spoke. As they got near, he could see the little mice scurrying around under.

"It looks like we have made it,"the little mouse spoke. She felt the stallion begin to get closer, but knew he would need help from the others.
