MDM 2015: The Great Cape Caper CYOA

. MAXX DAY MONTH 2015 - THE GREAT CAPE CAPER CYOA .

Shadowy figures in the night, a cloak (ok, a cape), a dagger… mysterious machinations the depths of which you’d never guess… that’s right, it’s time for a CYOA!

This is a single elimination CYOA, which means that if you forget to post once, you’re out. If you make the wrong choice, you’re out. However, this is also a Russian Roulette CYOA, which means that every day there will be AT LEAST ONE elimination. If nobody makes the wrong choice? Well, there are other ways of knocking somebody out of the running. You’ll need a little luck, a little skill, and a lot of boldness if you want to survive… THE GREAT CAPE CAPER.

Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is one fit for only the bravest of the brave- or maybe just the luckiest of the lucky. You’re going to steal one of TACO’s capes, using a combination of skills that would make any international mare of mystery openly weep in your glory and greatness. You have been contacted by a shadowy figure, known only to you as The Boss, who has given you your extremely vague instructions: Acquire one of TACO’s capes by any means necessary. You may not have seen The Boss in person; they called some of their agents from pay phones and approached others in dimly-lit restaurants with giant hats on, ensuring their face was never seen. From the intelligence you’ve gathered, the cape is an item of interest and great rewards will come to the one who manages to acquire it… but you also know that TACO himself must never know that his cape is being hunted. If he finds out, he’ll hightail it out of town, taking the cape with him- and the jig will be up!

. THE RULES .

As with all things in life, no good spy game is without its rules. Please look over this list and adhere to them carefully.

1. You stand no chance at success if you don’t post every day.
2. You must post the letter of your choice at the top of your post and you must RP in your post. It can be as short as a few sentences, but it must be there. Posts without RP in them at the deadline will be eliminated! You may also edit your posts before the deadline.
3. You may use any character you choose, be it a phony or an OC- but you must follow Phonyland’s house rules in regards to RP- this means no quest characters and no outside characters based on the My Little Pony IP! Also, this may go without saying, but for phony owners it would be preferable to play a phony- it makes things a little less confusing for The Boss, who has a highly specific knowledge of Phonyland but probably has never seen the outside world.
4. Also, be aware that this is a CYOA and sometimes acts of god happen- especially during the elimination stages! Not on your part, though. No god-modding, and if something happens to your character via moderator action, it happened. (However, don’t worry- your characters are in no actual danger and nothing bad will happen to them. This CYOA is rated PG-13 for slapstick violence, horrible puns, and maaaaybe a low-level cuss here or there.)
5. You will receive notifications of character actions or instructions via in-thread quotes. This means this thread, not the main thread. You may want to consider turning guild quote notifications on if you haven't done so already!

. SCHEDULE .

This game will run in CST and will run quite quickly. Signups will run from now until 11:59 PM CST on the 19th; the game will begin on the 20th. You can sneak in a signup on the first day, but once the second choice and the first choice results go up, that's it- no more entries! There are seven rounds; Choice 1 will be made on the 20th, Choice 2 on the 21st, and so on and so forth. The rounds will have a soft closure, meaning if you get your choice in before the announcement post you will not be eliminated (example: if the announcement goes in at 12:15, any posts before then will be counted, despite the technical deadline being at 12:00). But! Do not bank on this! Get your posts in before midnight CST to be safe!
