The Training Arena

The Training Arena is set to the West of the Palace (on your left if you're facing the front of the palace. And yes, I stole this from How To Train Your Dragon, only it's supposed to be, like, 10 times bigger). It's a huge pit with tall stone walls that curve quite a bit, so there's a bit of a ledge up above. It's covered by a big iron grate has a vast catacomb where supplies, armor, and weapons are kept.

Aurora flew into the area, landing gently. She whipped her head back and forth before settling down and crouching low to the ground in order for Euphie and Sora to get off.

Sora released her grip from Aurora's saddle once they had landed. Flying was always such an exhilarating experience for her. It terrified her, but she loved it. In any case, she was excited to spend time with her friends. She swung her leg over and slid off of Aurora's back and gave her a gentle pat. "Thanks Aurora." She smiled gently. She always thanked a dragon for letting her ride it.

Once Aurora had gently landed in the middle of the arena, and after Sora slid off, Euphie duly slid off as well. She smiled at Aurora as she took the saddle off her back. She placed the saddle propped up against the wall and then turned to look at her friends. "Alright, let's get started," She said eagerly as she stretched her arms and legs for a moment. After doing so, she went to where the weapons were kept and rifled through them, looking for a suitable katana. She could have brought her own, but carrying those things around were always a drag.

Aurora returned to her human form once Sora and Euphie were safely off. She looked at Sora and nodded tersely. "Yep, no problem," She replied. She walked over to Euphie and stood beside her. She turned her head to look at Sora. "Hey, Sora, what kind of weapon do you normally use?" She asked.

Sora looked over to Aurora and shrugged. She wasn't actually that good at fighting, she didn't usually need to. It wasn't part of her job description. But her brother, Kizo, had interested she learn something to defend herself with when he was away. "Depends. Long distance or close range?"

"Close range," Aurora replied without a second thought. "Close range would be easier for us to spar with each other," She said as she grabbed a katana similar to the one Euphie got. "Long distance is usually when we want to practice our aim or evasion," She continued.

"Oh..." Sora tried not to look disappointed. She was better with a bow and arrows. She shrugged and glanced around Aurora at the selection of weapons. "Maybe a bo staff...or twin short blades...something light."

Aurora nodded as she grabbed a rapier. "A rapier then?" She asked, "They're really light but it's not like a traditional sword. It's not broad enough to cut someone." She handed it to Sora then smiled light heartedly to try to ease the seriousness in her voice.

Euphie unsheathed the katana and carefully gripped it on its hilt with her dominant hand. She began to swing her arm, testing out the katana; its lightness, its sharpness, etc. She turned look at Aurora and Sora. "Rapiers are great for stabbing people," She commented in a joking manner, even though that little trivia was indeed true. She smiled, then continued to swing her arm.

Sora stepped up to Aurora and reached out to take the rapier from her. She weighed it in her hands for a moment, then swung it through the air. She'd never used a rapier before, but it felt good good in her hands. She gave a little nod. "Okay. This works"

Aurora looked over at Euphie and smiled. "That's what I basically said," She replied. She looked back at Sora when she took the rapier and nodded. "Alrighty, then," She said as she picked up her chosen katana and unsheathed it. She held it tightly and swung her arm like Euphie was doing. "Who's gonna go first? Or is this going to be a group thing?" She asked, grinning with contentedness.

Euphie suppressed a low chuckle, smiling at Aurora. She continued to swing her arm holding the katana, keeping her gaze straight ahead of her. At Aurora's question, she turned her head to look at her. "I'm fine with whatever," She replied. She can tell that Aurora was happy. Fighting was something she liked to do.

Sora lowered her thin blade and took a step back, motioning at the other two girls. "You guys go ahead. I'm gonna warm up" She walked over to a nearby wooden dummy. "I'm so rusty, I wouldn't stand a chance against either of you. Let alone both of you." She grinned slightly and nodded to her friends.

Entering the already occupied arena without the slightest noise, took rest for a moment on the solid ground. As both his mind and heart were still racing due to the speed he had kept up to simply enter this naturally heavy guarded location. The prospects of it all however was well worth the trouble. As he had saw numerous dragons along the way, enough to prove of the lands whereabouts, and of its existence. The land where dragons and humans cooperated. The thought never reached his mind as a sane one, but could not deny what he himself had seen already. While rested down upon the cold platform beneath him, his eyes were set on the arena's current happenings. Keeping a fair distance away from the center of commotion had watched as three individuals were about to clash. Each of them being of the opposing gender from what he could tell, and each of which held their own respective weaponry. None of which held any lethal values. However, despite his own tired body, did he stand and begin to walk into the arena with blades concealed, and hidden. Upon reaching close proximity with the female holding the rapier, stopped behind the girl and reached out for her shoulder as to get her attention.
