The forest is quiet; by now most of the birds have migrated south, and the only sounds you've heard for the past several minutes are the rustling of the breeze in the trees, the plop of acorns falling, the quiet scraping rustle as a leaf descends to the forest floor, and the occasional rasp of a squirrel gnawing on a nut's shell in the distance. It is peaceful — or, depending on your character's preferences, a little eerie.
The shrill, almost-human scream of a rabbit's death cry shatters the silence. Once you've taken a moment to recover (or, if you're a badass mofo, coolly evaluate the situation) you head in the scream's direction. It could be the work of a hawk, but there's still a good chance a fox is nearby.
You win three points this turn.

They were....lost.
"What have we gotten ourselves into, Deerheart?" Chinua mumbled the words into the back of the doe's neck, and received a flick of an ear in return. The girl and the doe had ventured out into the Wardwood, intending to stay near the border of the forest. But Koke, ever the willful creature, had decided that dashing through the woods at breakneck speed was much more exciting then a steady, sedate pace. It hadn't taken long for Chinua to lose track of where they were, and for whatever reason, Koke was being somewhat distant. Luckily Chinua had thought to bring out her warmer clothing for the "leisurely" ride. It was already starting to get dark and the temperature was starting to drop. Koke had slowed her pace to a walk or Chinua would have been freezing.
"C'mon Koke, let's head back..." She pull on the doe's collar, indicating the direction she wanted to go.
Koke kept going forward. Her attention was solely focused on something in front of her.
Chinua squinted. She could faintly make out tracks in the dirt before them. She Sighed. "Fine, have it your way." She released her chosen's collar. Bravely, the doe ventured forward; deeper into the Wardwood.

Wardwood Mule You hear a hoarse panting noise above you. An injured hawk rests on a branch, visibly bleeding. It looks as if it's been abandoned by the hunter who owns it, though it seems alert and could probably be rehabilitated given some time and care. But coaxing it down might take a while…
1. Umbrology 2. Umbrology 3. Umbrology All three hawks are companion pets, not familiars! You may choose to either take a hawk or walk away with three points. Please quote me with your decision! If you choose a hawk, provide your order of preference (omitting any you aren't interested in). If we don't hear back from you within 24 hours, you will be given three points and the game will move on. Hawks whose uncert links are crossed out have already been claimed.

Chinua gasped and gazed intently at the beautiful bird above them. She wondered how the creature had come to be injured, but it definitely answered the woman's question as to why her chosen was not listening to her. The silly doe wouldn't leave a hurt animal to fend for itself.
For many hours both girl and doe stayed in the forest, slowly coaxing the bird closer. Just before true darkness had settled in for the night, Chinua managed it. She had successfully captured the Kingshawk. They ended up staying that night in the Wardwood, before returning to Oldcastle in the morning. A girl and a doe, jubilant in their successful rescue.
Wow Thanks guys! Can't believe I got it on first roll xD I'll take number 3 please! Awesome event and good luck everyone!

It was a rare day that saw Jack alone. If it wasn't a roomful of strangers who don't stay unknown for long, it's his men or his brother or one of his friends. But even more than that, it's Aster. The buck rarely leaves his side. This day, however, was proving to be most rare, indeed.
His Guardian was doubtless frolicking with his sister and dear Jordun was otherwise occupied, leaving the soldier to his own devices for the time being. It was a little lonely, but even someone who enjoyed company as much as Jack could use a little time to himself now and again.
So there the morning found him, alone in the forest, taking in the peace of nature's own music. Or at least, he was. Until some tracks caught his eye. Fresh, from the look of it. Interest piqued, he changed course to follow the trail.

It had been months without even a yip from a wolf, but that didn't mean the Wardwood was safe yet. Despite the possibility of danger, Theron's livelihood depended on what he could bring back from within the forest, so he packed his bags, sharpened his knives, and left a bowl of honeyed milk perched on a gnarled root. He and Stormstruck disappeared into the forest like ghosts, one bright and one dark.
Their luck was good, at least. Not two hours in, he found fresh tracks, stamped into the loam so cleanly that he could have taken an imprint of them. He crouched, and studied the shape and spacing. Whatever he found interested him enough that he straightened and set off, following them. Stormstruck followed behind him, gingerly avoiding disturbing the tracks.

Maggie, after extricating herself from the young spruce she'd leaped upon at the hideous sound of the rabbit's dying shriek, dusted the needles out of her skirt and headed in the direction of the sound with all due haste. It was, after all, that time of year, and it was possible, just possible, that the Wardwood was trying to tell her something.
The healer's hair was now full of pine needles and she smelled of pitch, but there were worse fates. She had wandered the Wardwood nigh-daily for years now, but one still never did get used to that godawful noise. It cut right to the soul, it did...
