Hello hello! Welcome to my contest to give out these beautiful children that Life has had with a mystery stranger! Kin 1, 2, 4, 5, 6 are all up for new homes with the persons who impress me with their writing skillz. You must write for two (2) prompts. If you want to write more, feel more then free, but you have to write for at least two of them. Be detailed, be descriptive! Put your chosen kin's personality into your responses! Each person can only write for two (2) kimeti, and yes, that means you have to write 2 prompts per kimeti. You can recycle them if you like, use the same prompts and/or answers for each one. You can post both enteries in the same post if you want or make seperate posts. You may also update or change posts at any time before the contest ends! (Yes I am requiring a lot of work on your part to win one of these. I want the kin who I invest a lot in to be role played and to have kids and grandkids and adventures and to just be active! ; o ; ) About the names... The buck I chose, number 3, his name is Lifeblood. You do not have to choose a name with "Life" in it, so don't feel the need or pressure to do so! If you happen to want to go with the naming pattern that I and others have used in the past (Light of Life, New Life, My Life, Hard Life etc) I ask you not use the following names: Joy Of Life Past Life Wonderful Life After Life
I'm saving these for very specific breedings. Thank you. heart
Prompts Life has brought you, her new brood, to meet your siblings from her past clucthes. Family is very important to her and she wants all of her kids to know, more or less, about all of their brothers and sisters. How you live your own life after this is entirely up to you, but it's deeply important to your mother that this meet and greet happen. Write your responses in the guise of whatever kin you are going for. If you are writing for Buck 1, then write as you think Buck 1 would react to the prompt you choose for him! Light is Life - A ball of energy, she rushes up to meet you and begins to rapidly gush about how happy she is to meet you and barrages you with questions. "What's your name? What's your dad like? What do you like doing? Are you going to stay with mom or strike out on your own? Do you like my songbird? Oh! Do you think you will get a songbird too?" Answer some of her rapid fire questions! New Life - The only buck of this gathering warily eyes you. He silently stands behind his sisters, watching as you and they interact and chat. You want to talk to this slightly brooding, silent guardian of the sisters you're meeting. How do you approach him? What do you talk about? Do you put him at ease or make him even more cautious of you? Sunlight Garden - This gentle girl smiles at you and greets you pleasently. You're startled a bit when she noses your shoulder scale or sniffs at your hair, and you come to realize that she's blind! Describe yourself to her so that she can hear your voice and picture what you look like. Rhythm Of Life - The blue and brown doe bows her head in greeting to you, but never drops her eyes from yours. You can feel her taking in your every detail and judging you before you have even said a word. Put your best hoof foward, introduce yourself, tell her about yourself. First impressions are important. Lifeblood - All these new siblings have you feeling strange. You catch Lifeblood to the side and confide in him about this sudden, new family. How are you feeling about them? Are there any particular ones who concern or interest you? Entry All you have to do to enter is fill out the little form below and plop it into your post along with your prompt responses! This contest is open to everyone regardless of number of kin owned. This contest will run from June 19th to July 3rd! That's two weeks so it gives you plenty of time to think and write! Name: kamileunaire Chosen Kin: Buck six Proposed Name: Life of the Party Prompts Chosen:
Sunlight Garden She had come up to him first, and he had greeted her in his gentle, lilting voice. It was all smiles until the little female had drawn in unusually close, pressing her slender velvet nose into the tresses of his golden mane. It was strange, to be so close to a stranger, and noticing him tense for a moment, she stepped back, still wearing that kind smile.
It's only then that he notices her eyes; quietly gazing into the unknown, slightly glassy but not altogether unpleasant in appearance. Most notably, however, they are unfocused, unseeing. He utters a soft apology, and she giggles in response.
"You didn't know. It's alright. Please, tell me. Tell me about what my eyes cannot see." she asks in a quiet voice, as if she's talking about some grand secret that no one else should know about.
He feels the heat rise to his face, and is compelled to lower his voice in the same way she has lowered hers. It's almost like a game, and he wants to please her, wants to explain to her like she asked. And so, he does.
He explains that the locks she'd pressed her nose into are golden, like the gentle touch of the sun on one's back during a fall afternoon. He tells her that his hide shares the same shade of a type of berry that grows along the banks of certain streams, tart but delicious, a brilliant burgundy when crushed. He reveals that his body is splashed with the vibrant likeness of a butterfly as it dances across the sky at sunset on flax and lavender wings. He divulges that his scales and horns are all the same dusky purple as the grapes that ripen during autumn. He is Life of the Party, and he is incredibly glad to meet her.
Light is Life
She'd rushed up to him with all the gusto of a busy little bee, which is exactly what her colors reminded him of. Life of the Party loved her at once, and he laughed as he introduced himself, repeating her name as she did so in turn.
"What do you like to do?" She fidgeted from hoof to hoof, excited little creature.
"Social gatherings are lovely. Just like this one, yes? We have such a big family. I like to talk. I like parties, you know? Those acha, have you ever met any of them? They've got that down pat."
"Oh yes, the acha!" she giggled, and kept on talking. "Do you think you'll leave, or stick with the family? Do you like songbirds? Do you have any pets? What kinds do you like? Oh, oh! What's your favorite food? Do you like too go swimming? What do you like better, the hot season or the cold season? Hot is better for swimming!" she laughed again.
He took that pause to answer, a grin plastered across his face. "Yes, the acha. Fabulous bunch, are they not? I may just travel off to see their native deserts, though I've been told the place is terribly different from the swamp. Songbirds are lovely, but I think I'd favor a moth myself. Aren't they just precious with those wings of theirs? My favorite food...mmm, oh, I do love swimming. Aren't the hot months fun? My favorite time of the year, I'd say."
They babbled on that way, each gladly exchanging information, precious tidbits, even a little gossip. If the rest of his family was as lively, Life of the Party could not wait to meet the others.

Name: Blinded By Silence Chosen Kin: Buck Six Proposed Name: You Only Live Once [ Rebel ] Prompts Chosen:
[ New Life ]
Rebel made his way through the throng of relatives, strutting, drinking in the gazes he stole, smirking all the while. At first he had thought that this family meeting would be such a drag, but now all he saw was the attention he was getting. Not to mention that some of his sisters were pretty fine to look at. And besides, it never hurt to look, especially when these siblings of his may have some really sweet looking friends.
So, You Only Live Once was making the best of things in his own way. Prowling through the clusters of does, checking out some tail, when a voice grabbed his short attention span.
"What do you think you're doing?" the voice demands, sounding reserved but harsh.
Rebel quickly turns tail to face the voice and finds himself almost nose-to-nose with a large buck with large, twisting horns. The golden-haired buck tossed his mane and laughed, his signature smirk plastered on his lips.
"Me? Just checking out the scenery, bro, that's all." Rebel winked up at the bigger buck, "Have you seen the blue and brown one? That flank!" The rosewood colored buck laughed and laughed at that one.
The big-horned buck scowled, not finding it very funny at all.
"That's your sister you're talking about. My sister," New Life stomped a hoof threateningly, "Have you no shame?"
Rebel rolled his eyes at that, of course he didn't. What was the point? After all, life is too short for rules.
"I've got no shame in my game, man," The smaller buck grinned before slinking around his brother, "Relax, bro. Life is too short for worries like that."
And with that, the golden haired buck pranced off to the next gaggle of females, making sure to brush New Life's frowning little face with his tail, leaving him in a trail of laughter.
. . . . . . . . . . . . .
[ Light is Life ]
A few tail lengths away, and out of sight of the bigger brother, You Only Live Once was back on the prowl and there was a yummy little yellow thing in his sights. As he approached, he noticed the uneasy, must-get-out-of-here looks in the faces of the kin she had just been talking to as they left. Neither he, nor the bright sunshine yellow doe took any notice however. So, sliding his way into the space in front of her, Rebel threw her a wicked smirk.
"Hey there, honey, what's your name?" He asked with sultry eyes, "I'm Yo-"
"Hiya!" squeaked the bubbly doe as she turned her bright eyes to him, "What's your name, huh? You sure look interesting! Who was your dad? Do you know? Hm?"
Rebel froze, blinking back at the loud, overly excited hyper-doe with a look of distaste, confusion, and hesitation.
"Er... Hi," He tried agian, though at this point he wasn't sure why he bothered, this chick was crazy annoying, "My name is You Only Live-"
"You Only Live? Psh! That's not true! You die too, silly!" She bouncy, wide-eyed doe laughed, "What are your hobbies? What'cha like to do, you know? Oh! Are you going to stick around or what? Hm?"
Rebel's eye twitched slightly. What the heck was wrong with this doe? Ugh, he hated the talkative ones. Almost as bad as those does who wanted him to stay and cuddle afterwards. UGH.
"Okay, look. I have to get goi-" He tried, he really did.
"Hey! Do you like my bird? Isn't it pretty? Don't you want one? You should get one too!" The bright doe went on and on...
"Do I like your bird?" You Only Live Once repeated slowly, not caring that the doe was still speaking. That was it, the straw that broke the camels back, or whatever. He was DONE.
"No, you insane freak! Birds are loud and obnoxious, kind of like you!" Rebel growled, stepping forward, his nose barely an inch from her horror filled eyes, "I don't give a flying feather about who ever my father was! No, I'm definitely NOT sticking around! Ugh! Shut up, already!" The ticked off buck snorted before stomping off, "This family is such a pain! Geeze."
And with a flick of his tail, Rebel stormed out of the family greeting, leaving behind a very shocked little doe with her jaw on the floor. And for a moment, silence echoed through out the clearing.

Name: Amorpheous Chosen Kin: Buck Six Proposed Name: Life After Life Prompts Chosen:
Light is Life
When the barrage of questions hit him, Life After Life had to close his eyes to try to keep up, but when he closed them, all he could see was her life flowing out and away from the bright blob that was her life in soft vespers and so he opened them again, unable to concentrate when all he could she was her life drifting out from her and sinking in the plant life all around them, going back into the swamp, her life after life, as she crept closer to what most other kin considered "death" while parts of her were constantly dying and finding new life in the swamp.
Her vitality, it was slipping away.
All around them, Life After Life couldn't help but see. The entire family, slipping and dying, and sliding into the swamp to be reborn.
When he opened his eyes, Light of Life was looking at him expectantly; she had asked questions, he was meant to have answers, but in his attempt to concentrate on her words better by closing his eyes, he had only become more distracted. He couldn't remember a single questions she had asked, except for his name.
"I am Life After Life."
She was silent for a moment, and when Life After Life looked at her, he could see her life, pulsing, so brilliant bright within her and spreading brightness within the swamp. He stopped her right as she opened her mouth to speak,
"You're beautiful."
And she probably had no idea what he was really referring to, but that was okay. She smiled anyways and her the life within her burned brighter.
New Life
Life After Life drifted uneasily in the periphery of the family, all gathered together in greeting. He had greeted all the more outgoing of his family and now was at a slight loss as to how to integrate himself without the crutch of a hello, nice to meet you, I'm Life After Life. Shifting from hoof to hoof, Life After Life's gaze flickered over to the stolid buck standing slightly distanced from the rest of the family who watched with a careful gaze. It was hard for Life After Life to focus properly on kin and their appearance whenever he first met them, their life, the one that only he seemed to see all too distracting and overwhelming to overcome immediately.
It took several glances and long looks in order for Life After Life to properly discern the exact physical appearance of the other buck and by then, Life After Life was also being the subject of intense scrutiny by the other buck.
They stared at each other over the ever shifting mass of their shared family and Life after Life fought the desire to avert his gaze, allow his eyes to dance and flit around and get taken up by whatever life he saw.
Neither buck blinked and it seemed as if there was a silent battle of non-communication. Life After Life was not taciturn, but he was not always inclined to speak. Despite his usual easy accommodating nature that allowed him to start conversation with others, he knew without knowing how he knew, that this unusual discourse between him and his brother was important.
When the other buck finally broke eye contact, Life After Life blinked rapidly and was blinded by the brilliance of the buck's life, expanding like heaving breaths, and reaching protectively out, sinking new life into all the swamp.
When their eyes met again, the other buck merely nodded and Life After Life returned the gesture. They had reached an understanding.

Name: c h e e r f u l CYNIC Chosen Kin: Buck Two Proposed Name: Quick Judgement (Shallow) Prompts Chosen: Sunlight Garden, New Life
Sunlight Garden Shallow looked around at the gathering of kin with his glowing eyes, carefully inspecting each and every one. You would have to be blind to miss the familial resemblance between them, the reoccurrence of the butterfly motif, the colors, and most of all, the long, twisting mane. But he, the odd one out, looked next to nothing like any of them. This caused a frown to pull at his jaws, and he looked away with a sigh. Sure, he shared the stencil-like patterns on his pelt and the leaf-like shoulder scale with his mother, but he had none of the beautiful, swirling wings on his pelt, the bold markings of their clan. As a result of this, Shallow was nothing if not a bit resentful and insecure.
Hearing a soft voice from the left, the brilliantly-colored buck turned his head to see a gentle-looking doe, incandescent eyes scrutinizing her appearance. He took in her markings, the soft grassy green and sunny yellow, and immediately felt some sort of kinship with her. She, too, had been left without the insect wings, and this caused his mouth to quirk gently. Maybe he could be comfortable around her after all?
This thought process was interrupted when he felt a soft touch, almost as if it was merely the wind, brushing against his shoulder. Luminescent eyes lock on her face as it draws nearer, smooth nose burying in his short, very un-familial hair for a few moments before she pulled away. Brows knitting together slightly, Shallow watches her face curiously; what did she think she was doing? Her eyes draw him in, glowing softly much like his own, and initially he is filled only with relief. Maybe this girl wasn’t so bad after all. But then he notices the unfocused way she looks out at the world, the soft twitches of her milky orbs as she searches for something to lock her gaze onto. "Is...is she blind?" His own voice echoes in his head, and he knows that she is as soon as she speaks again: “Will you tell me what my new brother looks like?” Her tone is hushed, but lighthearted and curious, and puts him at ease. He smiles gently, wondering if she knows what colors look like. How long has she been blind? Perhaps it would be best to simply be creative?
“Nn, hello,” he begins, his own voice quiet. It was almost as if this was some private correspondence, letters written by candlelight to a long-lost sibling you know nothing of. It feels strangely intimate, but Shallow was at ease. He clears his throat, not liking the meek tone he had started with. “Well, to start, my hair is not long and soft like the rest of our kin. It is short and crisp, like river grass,” he murmurs, dipping his head to brush the strands against her chin, so that she can participate. Normally, Shallow would never dream of getting this close to someone he’d just met, but this…this was different. He had been about to describe his eyes, how they glow, but could not think of a way to translate “glow” to something tactile. So, he skipped that small detail. “However, my tail is long and twisting.” He drags the tuft of hair across her leg, for emphasis. “I’m sure you felt this already,” he chuckles softly, “but my shoulder scale is shaped like a leaf, like one from a rose.” He doesn’t bother letting her feel it, and moves on.
“My pelt matches yours in color, with a soft green like the old man’s beard that grows from the trees in the swamp,” he explains, raising his tail to tickle the tip of her nose with the very end like the hanging moss often did, “and a bright yellow like sunlight on your pelt when you lay in the fields.” He pauses, trying to think of what else to say. Should he mention more of his coloring, the red that stained his hair and the small sprinkles of leaves on his pelt? Why not?
Shallow bent to pull a mouthful of grass from the ground, flicking his head to toss it over her. He chuckles softly when she looks around (or at least acted like she was) and smiles, and then spoke again. “I have markings like leaves, blowing in the wind. They are a bright red, like the sweet berries you find in the underbrush, tangled together. It’s like someone squeezed them all over my hair, too.” He laughs at the image he brought to his own mind, and then looks at the girl again. Looking around, he leans in close and whispers to her in a lighthearted tone. “Don’t tell the others, but I think you might be my favorite sister already.” Maybe this wouldn’t be so bad after all.
New Life Shallow had always been a very visually-oriented buck. As he stood off to the side, sort of hesitant to dive into that pool of butterfly kin, his bright eyes caught sight of a lone buck, silent and brooding in the background as well. What initially drew his gaze was the shocking contrast of his pelt; such a deep chocolate paired with a foamy green much like that of his own pelt. His gaze drifted to the curved horns, like that of a Totoma, and Shallow wondered if he had a split heritage. But that didn’t really matter. What did was the sharp curve of a pair of butterfly wings on the buck’s hip, and Shallow felt his mood shift to jealousy. Not only did he have the family markings, he had those horns, and that brooding “cool-guy” demeanor. But he supposed it was justified. Being the only buck in a cluster of does had to drive him to be a bit protective.
Feeling insecure, Shallow turned his gaze away, back toward the does chattering away. They didn’t annoy him per se, but he couldn’t help looking at all the similarities between them. He let out a huff, and shifted his weight on his hooves. But nonetheless, his gaze was drawn back to the other silent buck, and he resolved to make his way over. Peeking at the naturally-colored buck as he discreetly moved closer and closer, Shallow got a closer look at his markings. Small specks of gold caught the light and shined, and Shallow’s lips tugged down slightly. Of course.
After a while of just awkwardly standing there, the bright buck turned his head and glanced at the group, but was obviously speaking to New Life. “They sure get excited, don’t they? How do you deal with that?” He asked, glowing eyes shifting to the other male. He expected some sort of answer, some sort of acknowledgement, but the buck simply glanced at him, grunted softly, and then looked back at the does. Shallow blinked, huffing through his nose, and his mane bristled slightly. "Fine then," he thought, and trudged away in silence. Well, that was one sibling he wasn’t going to be close to. It probably wouldn’t have worked anyway; New Life was very handsome, and Shallow’s level of comfort was inversely proportional to someone’s attractiveness.

Name: Chrystali Chosen Kin: Doe Five Proposed Name: Gift of Life (Faith) Prompts Chosen: Light is Life Beneath the sudden torrent of words, questions, and the innate feelings that spilled forth from the vivacious Light, Faith could only blink olive eyes in perplexed silence as she tried to commit each barraged question to memory. The last thing she wanted to do was insult her sister, though she wasn't entirely sure that Light would notice if she forgot one question in the veritable avalanche of the ones posed. It was even harder to concentrate because she could not help but marvel at the Doe's colors; she was like liquid sunshine, all feather-down whites and golden drops of light, so very opposite to her own coloring. "Ah, w-well," she started, trying to gather her wits in the face of those earnest ashen eyes, "we're family, so you should call me Faith!" Flicking her tail to the side and briefly over the chatty female's back, she hesitated before answering the next question. "Since mother found him worthy, then I'd think him stellar." She smiles then, almost apologetic in her gesture. "Otherwise, I haven't met him. I'm sure he's much to tend to, and mother is able, so..." Ticking her head to the side, she offered a bemused smile. "I like to collect flowers. I travel to find those that are most vibrant or unusual to me and take the roots back to this beautiful clearing I call home -- sometimes it doesn't work, but if the flowers take to the soil there, it's glorious! So many varied petals, it's a myriad of rainbows, which I'd adore to show you sometime." Tucking her hooves into the swamp with a dreamy-eyed, distant stare, she continued wistfully. "As much as I'd like to stay with mother, she's so many things to do and I'm such a dew-eyed wanderer, I'm afraid I'd just get in her way. I suppose that means I'll collect on my own, unless you're offering company?" The question was gentle and unassuming; it was an invitation to her excitable sister so they might have a more leisurely pace at which to acquaint with one another. "I think having a constant companion would be wondrous -- and were it a bird as lovely as your own, that would be ideal." A soft laugh escaped her, betraying her fondness of the bright-eyed Light. "Perhaps if we should adventure together, the Great FatherMother might bless us with such a similar bond." Setting her cheek to Light's, she offered a fraternal nuzzle before giving the golden child a happy smile. "And now, it's my turn to ask!" Sunlight Garden The nosing surprised Faith, but she was not without her own abundance of affection, generously accepting the gentle inquisitive touches and remaining in place for a more thorough inspection. It took her a while to realize what was happening; with the other's warm glowing eyes moving little despite her presence and the filtered sunlight, she understood that this one's sight belonged to the Swamp. This was not something she had ever encountered, one without the gift of a sense, and quietly, she considered how best to introduce herself. Luckily, the other's sense of perception was strong where her sight was not, offering soft words of introduction and inquiry - who she was, and what she 'looked' like. By the Sun and the Moon, but how was one supposed to explain appearances to one who had no sight? She couldn't explain herself in color or association, so what was left? Faith offered a smile and gently touched her nose to the other's, rubbing her cheek against her blind sister's so that she might feel the smile instead. "I am Faith, beloved sister," she introduced herself in her soft voice, tenderness in her tone. "I cannot express myself in terms of beauty but I will do my best for you." With a small intake of breath, she began to speak as though spinning a story. "My pelt is the color of the beginning of the day, that feeling of warmth, the break between dawn and morning." Leaning her head against the elder sister, she lightly touched her nose to her pelt, vaguely drawing with her nose what she was describing. "I've adornments of twilight, and cast from my shoulder to my tail are curls of butterfly wings -- or perhaps a fair leaf --" she wasn't sure if her sister even knew what a butterfly felt like! "-- painted in the dregs of the day waning to night, the closure therein, though it encircles the brightness of spring - the crisp scent of new life." Returning to face her older sister, she again touched their noses. "Hair is like yours - answers only to the wind, colored in the dark embrace of dusk and ending in the softness of swamp moss. The tip of my tail is a lighter memory of sunset, though my tail itself is the canopy of summer, the splendor of life in full bloom. My eyes are the same, a lone bud in a dark setting." Bowing her head, her smile could be heard in her voice. "And no matter what I might be, dear sister, I pale in your presence. It is my honor to meet you."

Name: Chrystali Chosen Kin: Buck One Proposed Name: End of Life (Grim) Prompts Chosen:
New Life
The women were pleasant. Grim allowed himself to be surrounded and fawned over, pelted with questions and otherwise learned of in the way that only his sisters could. He answered all the inquiries with methodical politeness, his slow manner of speaking and gesture allowing him all the time in the world to be judged and observed. Taking comfort in the seeming acceptance of the majority of his kin, there was one or two that seemed a little less forthcoming, and it was to his thickly horned brother that his attention lingered. Grim found that his elder kin was rather beautiful in his own right, but there was a distance between them that was unmistakable; had he seen him in a dream, he wondered? It wasn't likely, but the idea offered him some idle amusement, returning the other's caution with tranquility. Light offered up the male's name, allowing understanding to flicker through his blackened gaze. New Life, meet End of Life. It was no wonder the other was so distant.
With a gentle apology, Grim excused himself from the fairer siblings, making his way slowly to one of the nearby trees. Making no indication of his intent, he circled the expansive growth, not quite lethargic in his movements but utterly unhurried. Nose to the ground, he peered at the foliage of the vicinity as he made his lazy circles, finally coming to a stop when he found what he was seeking. Carefully taking the stem of a leaf between his teeth, he lifted his head to throw back his mane before approaching Bud with the same calm gait as before -- really, he had one speed, and it was 'calm.'
Keeping his head bowed in a rather submissive gesture, he gently deposited his treasure at the front of Bud's hooves: a leaf as green as the other's pelt, slightly withered at the edges where decay had settled in. Quietly making his way to his brother's side - but not close, and certainly not within reaching distance - he folded his front legs to lower his body to the ground, tucking his dark limbs against his slender torso. With his peace offering handed over, he simply curved his tail into the space between them, and settled his gaze off towards their siblings. He offered no words, serene in their mutual silence, his butterflies fluttering to Bud in the greeting he would not make audible. And for him, that was comfortable enough.
Sunlight Garden
Oh.
She was blind.
He could almost feel it before he saw it; the handicap was apparent to him in her movements and the gentle gestures that put her so unusually close to him. There was no small amount of amusement in his features that his sisters were so apt to closing the distance that he often wore like a mantle, but he wasn't bothered by it. If anything, Grim welcomed the rare show of affection and returned it whole-heartedly; they were all the same, from all walks of Life as it were, and he felt rather at home amongst them. Lowering his nose, he gently whuffled into the other's hair as she spoke, taking in her bright scent and sweet disposition with interest. She was lovely, in every sense of the word; her blindness only lended to her remarkable presence, and to that, he was content to dwell though he shouldn't have.
"I am End of Life," he greeted her in his slow, methodical manner of speech, his voice a low hum that was almost soft enough to be lost in a stiff breeze, "but they call me Grim." Unfettered by the daunting task of describing himself, he brushed his tail against her legs and painted a picture as best he could muster. "I am the before-dark; the unsettling inbetween of light's safety and the secrets that the dark keeps, though that nightfall dots my shoulder and back as a reminder of its coming." Each word was carefully chosen, weighed and mulled over before spoken, giving his voice a quality that was close to singing - a hymn, or perhaps, a dirge. "To ward off that promise, fire streaks across one leg and along my body, setting a choking end to the leaf upon my shoulder. I hope you are unfamiliar with the sensation of flame, sweet Sunlight; I can say that it is the color of pain at its core, feathered in anxious discontent. Some may say it is the color of the sun, of warmth, but the sun is never so fearsome or undesired."
He keeps his body close to hers, not to be oppressive, but to assure her that the image he colors is not proof of his character. "My tail is swallowed by the same anxious heat though the tuft is as long as my mane, soft as foxtail. Both are colored with the stain of fire-hazed sky melting into residue of embers: diluted golden sun, bleeding into the last farewell in the sanctuary of daylight." Another flick of his tail, and he finished his story. "These eyes are opposite of yours, fair sister: where yours hold light and warmth, mine are absent of both." Grim smiled as one of his butterflies lingered against her nose, a constract to his tale of decay. "Our family is a testament to everything beautiful and new, but..." he bowed his head, eyes closing, "everything dies, sister."

Name: Amorpheous Chosen Kin: Doe Five Proposed Name: Begin Your Life (Birth) Prompts Chosen:
Sunlight Garden
Begin Your Life tread with light hooves through the throng of her family until she was stopped by a pretty doe of green and gold. She smiled and introduced herself as, well, Begin Your Life didn't know. Birth let out a soft breath, almost the beginning of speech, but did not return the gesture of introduction because though she knew her name, she could not say it. All around her, she could see her family chattering but she heard none of it and could not join in even if she wanted to, only capable of the breathiest words, so soft and most often unintelligible since she was doing her best to imitate the movements of speaking without ever hearing how it should sound. The doe must think her so rude to not be speaking in return, so she moved wordlessly, hoping to impart the fact that she was unable to speak, but when the doe came forward, nosing at Birth's shoulder scale, the deaf doe realized the other doe was blind.
Oh.
How did one describe oneself to somekin who is blind without words?
Gently nosing at the doe, touching gently behind the ear and pressing into her hair, Birth let out a soft instruction, the closest approximation to 'follow' she could manage. She went over to the doe's side and nudged the doe towards a bush of purple berries. Birth pulled some leaves off the bush and pressed them to the does side in an approximation of the markings she knew she bore. She then brought the leaves up to the does hair, brushing against the tips before pressing the leaves to the doe's cheek so that she might be absolutely certain what Birth held.
Then Birth plucked several berries off of the bush and pressed them to the doe's cheek by her mouth before crushing them with a quick push. Birth nosed the berry mash to the doe's mouth, urging her to taste. She had berry markings, she was trying to say. When the doe tasted the berries, Birth immediately pressed the tip of her nose to the upper parts of the doe's hair before moving right to her side and tracing the markings out.
Returning to face the doe, Birth whispered life in a soft sigh, the only word she knew she said perfectly well. That was what she was, life, the very beginning of it: birth.
Lifeblood
Begin Your Life hovered over to her brother's side, their shared the same colored pelt with different wings and though she liked her extended family, she was still the most comfortable her clutch mates. She pressed her nose to his shoulder scale in greeting and when he looked at her she gestured with a quick flick of her tail to the rest of the family.
He understood her and nodded to each other others in turn.
Light is Life The yellow doe, like the sun. Her energy was infectious, especially with the more sedate Birth. Tossing her head, Birth traced frantic patterns on Lifeblood's side and doing a slight dance. She smiled, bright, and then stilled.
New Life Birth pressed close to Lifeblood's side and sighed, just barely audible, relaxing into her brothers side and closed her eyes. She understood New Life and appreciated his watchful eye. She always felt safer with her clutch mates, and it must be the same with such a watchful guardian as green and brown buck.
Sunlight Garden Birth wondered how she and the green doe would be able to communicate and hoped that she had done well enough. Her smile had disarmed Birth in it's softness and she wanted so much to be her companion but at the moment, Birth knew not how. She knew how to settle next to foals just out of their sacs and rasp, whispered nonsense to them to calm them, but she had more trouble with grown kin and her sister was a more difficult case, but she wanted to please, she wanted to love and perhaps they would learn to communicate effectively one day, with time. Birth could only sigh into Lifeblood's ear.
Rhythm of Life The doe was sharp and her eyes were clear and saw many things. Birth felt like she didn't have to try and speak in her presence since the doe seemed to already know everything that Birth could ever want to say. Birth touched the edge of Lifeblood's eye and stamped her hoof before touched Lifeblood’s throat gently. The doe was intelligent and saw with her eyes what Birth couldn’t say.
She breathed the word life to her brother as her attention was called by a low tugging in her gut. A clutch was close by, ready to begin their life and she was always called by the swamp to usher them in their births.

Name: Lural Chosen Kin: buck 2 Proposed Name: Gust Prompts Chosen: Light is life, Sunlight Garden, Rhythm Of Life, New Life, Lifeblood
Light is life:
He hadn't been too sure about this when his mother insisted on meeting the rest of the family, but... it was probably a good idea. He did want to know his siblings. What were they like? Would they like him? As they approached the small herd of does, and a single buck, Gust was quite surprised to find one rushed to meet them. Before he had a chance to open his mouth, she began to ask a long list of questions. He tried keeping up. "My name's -" Wait she was still talking. "I'm not sure, I haven't-" He stopped trying and let her run her questions before he tried speaking again. But she wasn't stopping, so Gust leaned forward and touched his nose to hers to try and silence her. It seemed to work for a moment. "I'm Gust." He tried to remember everything she had asked. "I think your song bird is very cute. But I don't know if I could ever befriend one. I wouldn't know where to look for one, or how to gain its trust." As he spoke, an idea formed in his mind.
"Maybe, I could play with you and your bird? I'd very much like to get to know you, both of you. Maybe you can help me learn more about songbirds, and some day, if I ever befriend one, we can all play together." He had to admit that the bird was very lovely, and it would be fun to have one. He had a long way to go though, if he ever wanted to be confidant enough to care for one.
Sunlight Garden:
After he'd had a chance to meet Light is Life, Gust was able to approach the others. He wasn't sure how to start introducing himself. Meeting everyone all at once was VERY intimidating. However, he felt a soft nose against his shoulder, and the wisp of breath in his mane. He looked at the green doe with long black hair and smiled...
But she didn't smile back. She smelled him, touched her nose against him... Oh... OH! She couldn't see could she? He gently nuzzled her back in greeting. "It's a pleasure to meet you." Gust took a deep breath. "Allow me to introduce myself. I'm your most handsome brother. In fact, I might possibly be the best looking buck in the swamp and beyond. But that's not hard to believe, not with a body the color of autumn grasses, highlighted by falling leaf yellow." He nuzzled her again. "In fact, my colors are not to different from your own." Lowering his voice, Gust whispered playfully "That must mean you're my best looking sister, right? Just don't tell the others, ok? It will be our secret." He held still for a while longer, letting her get a feel for him.
Rhythm Of Life:
While he allowed his blind sister to inspect him in her own way, he saw his other sister stare at him, bowing her head in greeting. Oh dear! Did he hear what he just said to Sunlight Garden? He returned the gesture in kind, lowering his eyes to her for a moment, before looking back at her, looking into her pale blue eyes, praying she hadn't heard him. "Good morrow, elder sister, I'm Gust." Her staring was... slightly unnerving. But he did his best not to shy away from her. He tried to think of what he should say to her. "...How can I be useful to the family?" Well that was stupid. But he went with it. "I feel I want to collect berries and food for us, if I can. But I have no idea if I'd be any good at it. ...And even less sure that any would make it back, or if I would just eat them all." Oh what was he doing? She made him so nervous staring at him! He opened his mouth, and a faint squeak escaped him. "Ah- I'm going.... to go introduce myself to our brother now... Please excuse me!" Gust bowed his head to her and sidestepped, trying to edge away from her quickly.
New Life:
As the girls turned focus to their other siblings to meet, Gust stepped beside the boy the color of mint leaves with a slightly relieved sigh. "I had no idea meeting you all would be so nerve wracking!" He gave a nervous laugh. "By now you're probably tired of hearing me give my name over and over... But I don't know what else to say." He looked to his brother, who simply stared at him, watched him. "...Do you watch over our sisters all the time?" He wondered. Though New Life's lack of response was not doing much to put him at ease and make this any easier. The way the other buck looked at him made him feel... unwelcome. As though this buck didn't wish to have much to do with him. Perhaps Gust had offended him in some way? Perhaps they were both stressed out from this meeting. So many new faces all at once, and he... This boy was looking out for his sisters, right? "...Perhaps we should meet... some other time... and speak. I'd be appreciative if we could." He started backing away, backing up towards his familiar siblings.
Lifeblood:
As he stepped back into the cluster of his familiar siblings, Gust found himself standing beside Lifeblood. Gently nudging him away from the others, inching out of sight, Gust began to speak in hushed tones. "I never thought I'd be so nervous to meet my own family. I mean, it was... Well, those two doe were so friendly and sweet, I was starting to feel relaxed. But did you see the way Rhythm Of Life stared at us? It was like she decided not to like us before even meeting us." His tone was slightly distressed. He wanted to like his siblings, wanted to be liked by them. "Oh mother, I'm afraid I might have said something stupid to her, something that offended our brother." He wanted to hide his face against the crimson-wing patterned boy. "I wish mother had brought us to meet one at a time. I think that may have been easier... Though, Light is Life seemed more than happy to meet us all. She is a darling, isn't she?" He looked over his shoulder at them all. "She likes songbirds, did you know? I think... I think I want to find one, and I think I want to treat Sunlight Garden to some singing. Do you think she'd like that? If I could sing to her with my bird?" Provided he ever got the nerve enough to find one. "I really... I do want them all to like me. I want to be part of their lives. All of them. ... Even if Rhythm and New Life do unnerve me..." He laughed sheepishly.

Name: Ruriska Chosen Kin: Doe Four Proposed Name: Vital Sign (Pulse) Prompts Chosen:
Light Is Life, Sunlight Garden and New Life
Pulse cut in with an annoyed snort. “Shut up girl. Damn, you’re a wordy one.” She sucked in a breath and then let it out, showing off the muscles on her chest. Then, she answered every single one of those rapid fire questions. “Vital Sign, but call me Pulse. A moron. Beating guys up. On my own. Not really. No.” A toss of her head. “Satisfied? Now go bother one of the others.”
Pulse stepped away from Light Is Life, only to have another one of her half sisters start sniffing it at her hair. It took her a moment full of glowers and meaningful looks from the others for the younger doe to realize this one could not see.
“That must suck… you know... being blind.”
If the doe was trying to be sympathetic, it certainly didn’t come through in her voice. Vital Sign shifted; made uncomfortable by the older doe’s closeness. She lifted her head, moving it from Sunlight’s sniffing but seemed to be making an effort not to back away or shove forward aggressively.
“Okay, step off a bit girl. I don’t need you that close. I mean, you’re cute and all and you’ve got a nice smile, but I like my space.”
She waited for Sunlight Garden to do as asked; her expression almost a glower. Then, once she had room to breath, the doe shook her head and rolled her shoulders back.
“Aight. I guess since you can’t see me, I’d better describe myself.” She paused for a bit, thinking about the last time she’d looked into a still pool for her reflection. Ages, maybe? “Well, I’m pretty muscled and strong.” She looked behind her shoulder and studied her markings. “I’ve got this kinda yellow colour and blue and some red. There’s this badass tuft of hair on my head and my tail is fluffy.
Not exactly the most poetic doe in the swamp.
“I’m totally fittest one here.” She glanced around at all her family members, gaze challenging, daring them to disagree. “So, yeah, that’s me.”
She was silent for a bit, tail flicking idly, and then… “So how the heck do you walk around without falling over stuff?”
Her attention shifted to the wary eyed buck near the back and she left Sunlight Garden, pushing past the others to confront him. “You got a problem?” She demanded. She was not a small doe and now she stood as tall as she could, muscles tensed. It wasn’t as if she was actually going to try something with the silent, watchful male; she just liked to make sure it was well known she wouldn’t take any dirt from anyone.
Her point made, she relaxed a tad. “So what, you these girls chaparone? I don’t think they need it bucko. Well, maybe blindy does…” She glanced back Sunlight Garden. “Take good care of that one. She’s kinda sweet.”
The doe stomped a hoof, eyeing the male. “I’m Vital Sign. Or Pulse for short. Remember it.”
Having had enough of this little family get together, Pulse gave New Life a curt nod and galloped away without a backward glance. It was probably not the best introduction to her older siblings, but if they cared to see past her tough, brusque attitude, they’d see a heart of gold.

Name: Vesperiie Chosen Kin: Buck 2 Proposed Name: Lifeline Prompts Chosen: Light is Life - “Big sister!” He exclaims as she approaches, matching her mirth with his own while his mind is whirring away, taking in everything about her - the gushing flow of her words, the light in her eyes, the seemingly boundless energy. All this he evaluates as he laughs, forming an idea of her character as her questions continue to tumble out, one after another. Only when she finally runs out of breath does he begin his answers, smiling jovially back at her.
“My name is Lifeline,” he replies, his voice smooth and indulgent, “I’ve never had the pleasure of meeting my father, a pity I know, and I like what everyone should: having a good time of course! I’m sure you’re an expert at that- now what was that about a songbird?” He is charming, as he always is for first impressions, but he thinks he'll remain that way with this one - he has her pegged as a sweetheart.
New Life - The only boy in the gathered crowd immediately draws his attention, standing there in the corner, all brooding and protective and oh so painfully obvious. He resists the urge to roll his eyes, instead sauntering up to his brother, a jaunty smile playing on his lips, cocking his head appraisingly.
“Why so serious brother? We’re all family here,” he chuckles, tail waving with apparent joviality, but his next comment, while still merry, is barbed. “Nobody’s going to do anything dastardly,” not here with you watching at least. His glowing eyes flash with the implication, and his own disapproval. This brother may have been his elder, but Lifeline knew a lot more about how to find a threat than he ever did. His voice drops to a murmur, audible only between them. “If you really want to protect our family, don’t stand in a corner sizing us all up letting anyone who has something to hide know they should hide it and hide it well. Drop the threatening act, mingle and jest and get to know everyone – that’s how you’ll find out who they really are,” and if they mean you any harm. It's a skill he's already learned and mastered.
And with that, he catches the eye of another one of his sisters, flashes a charming grin, and leaves his brother be, another threat evaluated and his difference in opinion expressed.
Rhythm Of Life - His green eyes meet blue, realizing that her's glow gold as well, and he smiles when he sees her survey him as he would her. Was her intuition as good as he believed his own was? Well, he would just have to see, wouldn't he?
"Well met, sister, my name is Lifeline," he says with a grin, sweeping his head down and bending a foreleg in an extravagant bow that's half-respectful and half humorous. He laughs when his head lifts, "As you can see, I'm a jokester at heart but- dare I say- quite charming?" He quirks a brow at this, turning any perceived arrogance to humor, but also wondering if she'll realize there's usually an agenda behind his charms. "I'm all about enjoying life, living to its very fullest, and don't really give a damn what others think," its what I think of others that concerns me. "I'm an independent sort of buck, and I take care of myself," but those I care for first and foremost. "If I were you, I wouldn't count on me for anything important," lest you take advantage of me.
"Now," and here his eyes narrow with playful interest, "Am I missing anything?"
Sunlight Garden - It is only the blind doe that makes his eyes soften, his jaunty carefree smile turning genuinely warm. He lets her nose at his leaf-shaped shoulder scale, turning back to tuck a strand of her hair back behind one ear with his muzzle, murmuring only for her to hear: “I know it might not seem like it, but I come through when it counts.” The words are not a statement, nor a jest, they are a promise, for as light-hearted and self-centered as he might occasionally be, he is exceedingly reliable for the things that matter most - a true lifeline. He touches his cheek to hers, the fringe of his forehead brushing her brow, and his tail sweeps around to brush lightly over her ankles - the motions and the words telling her all she really needs to know.

Name: Jun D Chosen Kin: Buck Six Proposed Name: You Only Live Twice Prompts Chosen: All of them together, except Lifeblood's, which is only addressed indirectly
"Yes, it is very pretty, like a drop of sun - it suits you well," one response after the other to her endless questions, "perhaps: I am something of a singer, their music calls to me; perchance you could lead me where they gather here, to see if one might take a fancy to myself?" His answers are light and easily considered - how charming the chatter of a maiden so lively! Many a song could yet be spun of one as bright as she - but, ah, he is turned from her latest line by the sudden, subtle pressure against his shoulder scale: he looks down to meet the softly glowing eyes of another sister, hair as burnished night as the first's is snow - oh, but her gaze does not, in fact, quite meet his; she noses gently against his own locks, and he realises it never truly will. He turns to flash an apologetic smile at the first - she returns it with equanimity, an understanding nudge, before skipping away to another of the newcomers - and glances quick but keenly around the gathering, noting the stances of each fresh face, then leans in to half-hum, half-whisper into the second's ear, "Have you been with our other brothers yet? One is looking at you - you would like him, I am sure. I am sure he likes you already."
What began as a private murmur has steadily picked up rhythm, melody, till his honeyed voice is drifting clear over the glade, and he knows they all hear as he continues his serenade:
"His pelt is flushed with the bloom of life: Lifeblood bathes down his neck, down his side, in red monarchs' wings, like a beautiful wound. He tosses his mane, green eyes glitter wild, because he thinks I am very irritating, singing of him where he would introduce himself."
A quick wink at the aggrieved sibling - but at least this one is well acquainted with his wont.
"Fret not, brother Lifeblood - I leave off your story to pick up a tale the poorer, but one, I hope, still worthy: stand here I before you, my family new, but longed for - with nothing but my sheer song, nothing but my reverence. Nothing but my mere skin, the hue of dim crabapple - but never worry, sisters, I am only sweet as the ripest damask plum that sits upon my shoulder. An orchid butterfly rests against my muzzle, curls around my right limb, across belly and flank; it melts, scattered petals, into the gold rush of my tail, lit by the same mellow sun that paints my hooves, and curls half our mother's hair about my head. My eyes are dark, that you may better glow within my gaze - and you do glow, like ardent flame."
Now he no longer sings just to his gentle new sister, but, like any seasoned performer, plys his trade with a flourish to the crowd as all sudden his silk persuasion rips, transforms into a cry more of flood and passion, sweeping extravagant gesture about his companions:
"Look on: here are your brothers! Beget of different father, but one mother, most beloved. We come, flying sleepless, anxious for reunion; we come, through endless waters, dreaming of your laughter. We come, our eyes obeisant, praying but your favour - for are we not brothers? My verdant brother, of majestic horn: honoured guardian, silent so, you watch your sisters - fear not; never will I harm them, I swear to cherish them as you do - for are they not too my sisters? My shining sunborn sister, whom life's light buoys like laughter, your heart pure as the tresses that frame your joyous features - surely you will take me, to be your loving brother? My gentle green-leaved sister, my quiet place of sweetness, the balm that soothes the sorrow I have known on these travels, surely you cannot turn me away, back to my troubles? My heart already holds you. But, ah, my sand-hued sister - do you divine my secrets? Then you must know how it pains me, to see your bright eyes wary: surely you must harbour the grace that runs like mercy through the troves of prudence that keep me from your bosom, like the brilliance of blue water through your breath-taking desert."
His carefully tailored addresses complete, the honey returns to his voice, low and tender, coaxing, pleading, beguiling:
"So can you not, my sisters; can you not, my newfound brother, from forth your hearts most noble, draw will to end our dolour? Be that we only live once, in this one life be gentle: one word, and we know gladness - one word, we know contentment. Share with us your trials, and bear of us our vices; deem me once your brother, my love be yours eternal. So sing I, this humble minstrel: …You Only Live Twice."
And as the final echoes of his perturbing last notes fade, he lays his hooves low for a bow that hides the pleased curve of his lips. His little show, he thinks, will be received well by a few of his new siblings - not so, he is sure, by others. But if they are all to be forced together by sweet mother's meaning, well then, needs must for them to learn at once his way. You Only Live Twice veils no words that do not gleam beauty beneath the veiling, spins no lies that do not seduce their lain truths in the spinning: let them live their one life as they please - for some better, some worse, always he will sing their second as he pleases.
(LONG ENOUGH FOR YOU, ASTRA? Darnit, I'd been trying so hard to sit on my hands but he beat my resolve into the dirt. XD;; Also - sorry, it may seem disingenuous to do this after the Badgerbird contest, but this entry has actually been knocking around in my skull since your contest started: I thought 'spoony bard!' when I first saw him, then the Nancy Sinatra started playing in my head and - well, he's no longer spoony but it all went downhill from there…)

Name: Lolli McHotpants Chosen Kin: Buck 2. Proposed Name: Life of Quiet (Hush) Prompts Chosen: Light is Life // Sunlight Garden Light is Life prompt This particular sister was a talker- There was no doubt about that. Scores of question flew from her mouth like angry wasps from a hive and all of them aimed at him. It was a pity that he couldn't fire back all the answers she sought. Then it occured to him- He was never without a means of communication. Blinking once, twice, and thrice at her he waited patiently until she took a breath. Seeing it as his chance he bounded around her like a new foal. His mouth opened, closed, openened again and a quiet gurgle filled the space between them as he tried to show her that he couldn't answer her in any conventional manner. A head-butt and a silent laugh; then he was dancing around her again as he cast his eyes to the ground looking for anything with which to draw in the firm mud. Pulling a rogue stick from nearby thrush and holding it in his teeth firmly, he cast her another large grin and bent his head to task- First: The glyphs that indicated his name was Life of Quiet. Second: Another glyph, larger, then crossed out with a shrug. He did not know his father and nor did he wish to. He drew next to that the glyph that signaled their shared mother and leaned forward to press his nose to his sister's chest. Where her heart was known to be. Hush hoped that she would understand his meaning; their mother was his heart and with his heart he would stay. If the group could handle the ball of energy that he was. Or rather; if the group could handle another such as Light of Life herself. Before anyone watching could bat an eye he was directing his face at her songbird and puckering his mouth and clickng his tongue. The combination created an odd parallel to her songbird's own trills, but they were not anything near real bird-song. A fact that did nothing to diminish the attempt or the sheer spark of life in the buck's eyes. In one final burst of joy, he kissed his bright sister on the cheek with a nuzzle and ears perked forward; then he was off in a frolic that matched her own manic energy. Sunlight Garden She was blind. Seemingly broken as he was. He'd found another after his own heart. Tears touched the soft inside corners of Hush's eyes as the darker toned sister touched and felt his shoulder and face. Taking painful(for him) means to be calm and slow he pressed his shoulder against Sunlight Garden before moving to face her head on. She couldn't see anything he traced out in the mud- She had no means of seeing his name. He couldn't tell her with his own voice; and for a small moment knew dispair. Touching his nose to her's he huffed out gently against her face. He leaned his head forward enough that as he blinked the long lashes shadowing his eyes could be felt brushing through her own. A smile lit his face and he pressed the side of his face against her cheek so that she may feel it. Their introduction was short. She would never know his name spoken from his lips, and he was okay with that. With her he felt suddenly- Together. Whole. There was someone that understood being limited but free; and she was of his blood. With a smile and a flutter of his heartbeat he realized that it didn't matter. He knew what was in his heart and so would she. [[Okay, I lied. There was no way I could sit this out- Especially after I got bitten with an idea.]]

Name: Samuel Carlin Chosen Kin: Buck Two Proposed Name: Life Goes On (Journey) Prompts Chosen: Rhythm of Life, New Life
Rhythm of Life
Of all of them, she looked like the one who might best understand him. Him and the way the world looked to him. All the little things that needed to be seen and understood and maybe tasted. Felt, certainly. So what if she was more a watcher than an explorer, like him. There was room in this world for both of them.
So he approached, not shrinking or ducking his head, but simply walking toward her until it felt right to stop, and there he stood, letting her look her fill for six heartbeats, seven, eight... Then he nodded in return to her and stepped closer.
"Sister," he said. "I won't stand in your way or steal too much of your time. There are too many things in the world to linger over just one. Too many questions to answer in six different ways, at least." He laughed. "Life goes on," he added. "That is what my dream told me, and I must follow where it leads. But I hope," he stole a sidelong glance at her, "that you would be glad to see me when I come back again to share the stories of all the things I've seen. It would be good to have family to find when I come home."
He gave her time to answer -- she either would or she wouldn't, but he knew she'd heard him -- then leaned his shoulder very briefly, very lightly against hers, and moved off.
New Life
Journey kept moving until he'd taken a place beside the silent male. Not quite the same posture, not quite the same way of holding himself, but at least from here he had a similar view of the others, all mingling and meeting and talking.
Without waiting to be prompted or invited to speak, he said, "Thank you," and twitched an ear before looking over at his elder brother. Half-brother. It didn't matter. "For watching over them. Us," he amended, as he'd been under scrutiny himself, obviously. "For letting us meet you. For letting them play." He nodded toward where Light is Life had cornered another of their siblings and began her rush of questions again. "For keeping them -- us, our family -- safe."
He was silent a moment, then offered, "When I'm back again," because he knew he'd have to wander a while, "if you want to take a turn, I'll stand watch and you can go. If you want," he said again, casting the older, bigger buck a sideways look. "Or I'll stand with you. If you want."
And as that was all that needed saying, that was all he said. He stood there a while, biding his time, then he gave New Life a genuine nod of respect and wandered off again.

Light is Life: Being asked so many questions, so fast, cause her to step back and take in her surroundings again. "Double Life, and yours?" Taking her cue from the other doe, Spy returned the questions. "Do you stick with mom? I will probably venture out on my own, returning now and then. Very pretty songbird, but don't you want something else to go with it?"
New Life: Getting a breather from Light is Life, she made her way to the buck. He seemed a bit on edge, but still she walked up to him with a genuine smile. "Hi, I'm Double Life. Seems like you have a lot to watch over." She nibbles on her hair in a nervous way. With nothing more to say, she waited for him to show if he would watch over her too, not that she needed it.
Lifeblood: Once done hanging around New Life, Spy found Lifeblood. Feeling comfortable around him, she leaned against him. "So much going on. How are we to survive all of this?" Lifeblood was the only one she could be herself around, everyone else made her feel like she had to show a different face.
