Draconian Pheonix Corbin Noir I say most of the acronyms (rofl, fwiw, brb, etc) and I've been on the internet since 96 (and before that, bbses). People can think whatever they like. 3nodding I can see how with BBS' bandwidth might have been a problem, but otherwise it just seems an excuse to be lazy. I think it's funny, I've been told in passing not to speak spanish as "in this country we speak English" yet it seems young people aren't particularly satisfied with that language either. Next thing you know we'll be back to hieroglyphics to convey meaning.
I hate it when jerks say "in this country we speak English." My grandmother spent many bitter years getting used to speaking English, but she never forgot the cruel teachers who punished her for speaking Spanish in the boarding school she was sent to... I don't think she liked the boarding school much, either.
Me, I don't really speak 133t or whatever chat slang is called at the moment. And I'm a fast typist, so I enjoy trying to be grammatically correct (even if I am a rather horrid speller.)
But I think it's rude and somewhat oppressive either way to tell someone they can't type in 133t or to tell them that they MUST type in 133t.
Suxxors.
