I'd go for never being able to hear - I was born with lower than average hearing so I'd at least be able to adapt quicker I think.

I really wouldn't want to do either, I like not knowing the future, and the past is what made me who I am today.
But I suppose I'd chose changing my past, so long as I could keep the memories, so I'd still have those lessons I learned.
