The sun shone high in the sky, reaching its zenith in what felt like mere seconds. Its brilliant rays of light poured over the Kawani lands to bathe it in a vast warmth. Spring would soon give way to Summer by the feel of it. The busy denizens of the earth would find themselves seeking a shady shelter from the growing heat. For now, however, the days could be enjoyed with the soft breezes that blew in from the north. Atieno was one such individual. Her wings spread wide, she sailed across the sky with an agility and grace learned from a young age. She had recently started journeying away from her family’s home on short trips. A way to see what the world had to offer, but little by little.

She had very few encounters with others in these brief trips. Not many traveled their way for whatever reason. Still though, there were a couple of times where the young mare had taken flight to find an unknown individual walking about. Atieno greeted each one in turn and, so far, they had all seemed pleasant. Of course, she knew that not all such encounters would be so. But she would cross that bridge when the time came. Until then, the young one could enjoy the different personalities and stories that came with them. I wonder if I shall come upon someone today. A small smile graced her features at the thought. Anything was possible. Her wings flared wide as she closed her eyes, letting the wind guide her where it may, though being sure not to lose track of where she was.

When next she opened her eyes, she peered down at the passing earth. Her shadow zoomed past the rocks and trees and animals. But, as she skimmed along, a bright flash of blue caught her attention. She had already flown a good distance past the oddity before it fully registered in her mind. Curious, Atieno peered back over her shoulder. Nothing could be seen, however, due to the thicker foliage that had popped up in the meantime. “I wonder what that was…” The mare pondered to herself, debating on whether she truly wanted to turn back to find out. A few seconds passed before she ultimately decided that, yes, she did indeed want to know what she had seen. Angling her wings, she effortlessly glided back in the direction she traveled. “Let’s see here…” Her glowing yellow eyes scanned for the blue. There!

Atieno circled around the spot, noticing that the blue had moved. “Is that…” She tucked her wings in, allowing the wind to carry her to the ground below. The patch of blue growing more and more distinct until it resolved into the shape of a stallion. “Hello?” Atieno called out to him as she came to a nimble landing not far from him.

Questrille had been enjoying a nice stroll away from the glen. His mind on thoughts of where his children that have left the glen for adventure are doing among other things. In his life he knows that he has been blessed. To have such a large family. Five children in total. Three of his own blood, one brought forth by the wishing star and one they had found in the winter alone and abandoned. All their children that he and his mate Zorion adopted have brought great joy in his life. But every so often he needs to take a break from them to recharge. Such quiet strolls like these being one of the few activities in which allow that. With the peaceful scenery and comfort of nature. It really does wonders for the soul.

He has to stop though when his ears pick up the sound of wind.. almost like a whistling or whoosh sound. He looks up and spots another being as it lands before him. He takes a moment to gather what he can from them. A mare.. Definitely a mare by its voice. She has three wings.. Tri winged.. He has only heard of those. Never once encountered them before. Interesting.. And somewhat glowy? He isn't too sure. " Hello! Quite an entrance you had there. Do you do that often? Diving towards the ground?" He would think that it would be dangerous.. He wouldn't even know how to feel if his children did that. Two in which have wings. But not the kind that would really support long distance flying.. More like fluttering.

Atieno studied the stallion while he spoke. His coat was a mixture of blue and pink with black markings. Golden yellow mane and tail fluttered lightly in the breeze and there were no wings to be seen. Peering up, her glowing golden eyes connected with his pale colored ones. "Hmm?" She cocked her head to one side as she pondered his question. "Only when the occasion calls for it. I grew curious when I spotted you walking here and so made a quick dive. It is quite fun to do, however." There was a brief pause before she added, "My name is Atieno by the way. Are you from around here?"
