Welcome, Brothers and Sisters, to the Glade. Here, we have begun to make a home for wayward Kin, a peaceful place where all may come and relax, so long as they contribute, even a little, for the betterment of the community.

This tribe is based around this location rp which I had an idea for when I came to Matope.

The Backstory

The place was a glade the MotherFather had provided, with a spring-fed lake, and a blueberry and raspberry bush twinned together- here's a more in depth description, with the founders and their usual places.
This little section of the swamp is actually not so very little- it could easily shelter thirty or so kin comfortably. Flowing Freely often can be found tending her Raspberry and blueberry bushes, as well as a few herbs that taste good, and is always looking for more berry seeds to start growing. She also digs out the spring-fed pond that is on the northern edge of the glade, expanding it to ensure it can always support more Kin. It currently has a small population of fish, and they seem to be spawning well in the fresh, clean waters. The raspberry and blueberry bushes are along the western edge of the pond, and seem to be well-cared for. To the eastern edge of the pond can be found the trees from which Dream's Desires hangs his kills from scavenged vines, with crudely tied knots, to keep other creatures away from them. Gathered twigs and branches for the fire are kept to the south of that. Towards the center, in a circular fashion, Snaptwig has cultivated soft moss beds, each one big enough for two kin, around Dream's improvised stone fire pit, with a flame that is never allowed to go out.

Flowing Freely was the first to find this place, and settled in after seeing the bushes growing together- they matched her hide, and she took it as a sign to settle down.

The Goal of the tribe- Free had originally intended to make a kind of waypoint and safe haven for travelers. It can currently shelter up to about 30 kin comfortably.

Rules and Regulations of the Clan
Every Kin who calls this Glade Home shall provide a service or good, be it through skill or wit, in order to earn his or her keep. This can range
from horticulture to story-telling, so long as it is held on a regular basis.

Younger Kin may work with any adult to learn their trade, so long as that adult is open to it.

Kin born of the Glade may, at any time and of their own volition, leave and return freely. However, failure to provide for the Glade will result in
being viewed as a guest, albeit with connections, rather than a permanent resident.

Clan Leaders
Those who came First
Leadership is shared between four unrelated Kin, and of those four, Free is considered the top leader, although her shyness makes her rather... difficult to follow, to say the least.

Flowing Freely, the settler of the glade. She is a quietly playful soul who cares deeply for her fellow kin. She has no current mate. She was originally a wandering doe, but found this glade, with a raspberry and blueberry bush, and decided it was a sign from the FatherMother. She settled in, and began to harvest and cultivate the berries and a few other plants that she found there.

Free is looking for a gentle, compassionate buck to lead the Glade with her, and help her overcome her shyness. She would likely become his mate and near-constant companion. She loves younger Kin, and shows them her kindness most often, often forgetting her shyness momentarily.

Harm Undone is a flirtatious buck, and the second to stumble into the glade. He became fast friends with the female who was there, tending to the plants, and began to help her dig out pools for fish, showing her how to transport fish using crudely made bowls of wood. Though he often wanders off in search of other does, he always returns to the glade. He views Free as a sister, and a great companion.
-----Other Information-----
Voted most likely to gather a harem of does. His marks may be simple, but he is quite clever, and adores making wooden things, such as bowls or even nets out of particularly bendy saplings to capture his favorite food: fish.

Snap Twig is the third settler, and an extremely curious, friendly doe. She will follow her first impulses strongly, and can be considered stupidly brave- she'll stick her nose into all sorts of odd places. Including, but not limited to: a caimen's nest, a wasp's home, a foxbun's birthing den, and a glade that seems to be lived in and loved. It is this doe who started making the soft moss beds for the dwellers there.
-----Other Information-----
A bit of a space case, but Snap's heart is in the right place. She is looking for a male who can explore with her, protect her if need be, but not try to cage her curiosity. She loves to help people, and knows a surprising amount about herbs and such.

Dream's Desires is a very odd buck. He wandered into the glade one night, and, after a strange series of events, decided to make it his home. He often brings home kills, and his small foxbun companion has been trained to carry grass embers to make small fires. He set up a small fire pit, and ensured that the others knew how to feed it properly, so they always have light to sleep by.
-----Other Information-----
The LEAST friendly of the four leaders, this male prefers solitude to company. That said, he respects other kin for what they can DO, not what they say. Wanna impress him? Bring him a large snake or massive fish as part of your tribute to the Glade. And maybe a quiet, powerful Doe would be able to capture his heart. Maybe.

Joining Requirements

Basically, the only way to join the Glade permanently is to convince one of the leaders that you can be helpful. Not too hard to do, really. Set up an rp with me, and we'll work it out from there!

Clan Heirarchy

There's not much of a ranking system, but it's there all the same. It goes like this:

Freely Flowing
Other leaders
Adults who do whatever is needed
Hunters and Gatherers/Artists and Item Makers
'Teenage' Kin
Children and Outsiders

That's it. Everyone is viewed pretty much equally aside from that, although the levels of respect may vary.
