This had seemed like a wonderful, amusing idea at the time, but if she were to tell the truth (which she wouldn't!), the Queen hadn't thought it through entirely. Like what she would do if she really did get knocked into the mud and made a mess of. She wasn't entirely surprised when he shoved her off, but it was a bit startling to go tumbling into the water with a splash and a splutter.

Forgetting herself for that instant, she flailed her way upright until she stood panting and staring at Vyoga from under her sopping forelock. And, after a long moment of silence, she laughed.

No, he didn't sound very sorry, but Khara didn't mind, at least not in this instance. She grinned and shook herself off, flipping her white hair out of her eyes. "That was fun."

"Maybe we could...do it again sometime," she added after a pause for consideration. It was approval. Sort of.
