if you fish in the pond in the resort area with a super rod, it is possible to encounter a level 100 magikarp. i do not have the game, i just read this.

CULT.

it is your job to catch such a magikarp and name it fish. he's too much of a b***h to make this topic himself. maybe you could name it b***h instead, that would be funny. while you're at it, get me a sammich.

Sounds like bullshit.

I'll definitely name it Meta_Fish if I find it though. xd

It's true. I actually mentioned this a while back in the S.Can so it's kind of old news. The pond he speaks of has only Magikarp that range from L1 to L100.

What's so good about a level 100 Magikarp?

Yes it's 100% confirmed.

And not all the Mew methods were false. One could indeed get Mew in any Gen 1 game by exploiting the games low-tech programing.

Bulbapedia
The Mew Glitch is a software bug in all three of the Generation I Game Boy Games, discovered in 2003.[1] This glitch is famous for allowing players to catch any non-glitched Pokémon in the game, most notably Mew, without the use of GameShark or other hacking device. Method #3 allows one to catch a combined total of 171 Pokémon in the Red/Blue/Yellow versions: 151 regular Pokémon, and 20 Glitch Pokémon, including previously unknown Pokémon such as LM4 and X - x.

Or there being a pokéball with Mew in it underneath the truck.

I don't have Platinum yet, but I'll have to go fishing when I get it.

Occasionally those actually would work...but it depended on the extent of the cheat....for example, the mew cheats rarely ever worked....but other ones like cloning did when you had to shut the game off and turn it back on...although cloning is very stupid....

Ya i used to whore the cloning cheat in the second gen. simply for masterball and nugget purposes.
