Someone had tossed him some bandages on their way past, which October barely had time to yelp out a thank you. He pushed himself to his feet, dragging himself vertical, and took a breath, Tuesday's relieved voice squawking about in his head (how she had so much energy as a disembodied voice inside of his head was still a mystery to him).
"Up and at 'em," he said gruffly, reaching out to snag Nash's arm and haul him upwards, towards where Dean was, currently prostrated in the sand. Nash was dimly aware of Sonja's voice, carrying over to him, but it was hard to tell where exactly she was among the chaos.
They made it only a few feet; October let out a startled yell as a leg came down beside him, spraying sand everywhere; and something slammed violently into Nash's side a second later, sending him sprawling sideways with a gasp of ******** - " October was grabbing for Nash's arm again, dragging him up, staggering over to Dean as Nash wheezed for breath, October shaking sand out of his hair, goggles still over his eyes. "Come on, Nova, one foot in front of the other now."
"Stop calling me that - Dean?" Nash dropped down beside the other, reaching out to grasp his shoulder. "Get up, man, come on - "

( October ) 1: You take -5 damage as a massive, massive limb rears down on you, just a single leg, and crushes the sand next to you, causing a backlash tidal wave to nearly suffocate you.
( Nash ) 10: Something rams into you with the force of ten freight trains. You swear you've nearly shattered every bone in your body, if it weren't for your weapon. Lose HALF your remaining health.

Nora was pleasantly surprised to see Abbi coming over too. Everyone wanted a piece of the action. If it hadn't been so hectic, or if she had lost more blood, the Sun would have soaked it in like a day at the beach. And then the precious thing had the luck to get tossed onto the creature before she could think of something sharp to say, though not before the bandages had done their work.
She sat up and winced. There was going to be some bruising later, that's for sure...She might have cracked something too. But then the sand started to broil around her, and she sighed.

3. Smaller centipedes appear, they wrap around your legs and try to drag you into the sand. You or anyone else must do 10 damage to them to make them let go. (No need to roll 1d20 again until you do).
"Gods, a girl can't catch a break," Nora sighed as she flicked one of the insects off idly. More were squirming up and around her legs, but she couldn't be bothered to panic. Right now, it was extermination duty, and the things had the nerve to attack her while she was on break.
Luna nodded quickly, “Yeah, hell of a lot better then I was.” She prodded her ribs and only felt a dull ache of pain and then moved to wipe blood away from her lips with the back of her hand. “I’m fine right now, worry about you?” She gave the other girl a light push before she stood up looking around as the giant beast moved again.
“Jesus it’s like Shadow of Colossus…”
That in mind she started to look around, there was no glowing weakness on the massive bug. If there was it was probably on its back or head. Her gaze shifted to the desert. Sand. Sand. A hunter dipping into.
Wait where did the hunter go?
She tugged on Sol, “Look over there! I just saw someone dip out of sight there has to be a bunker or cave or SOMETHING.” She didn’t wait, she instead sprinted for the Shelter as fast as she could tumbling through the sand in her mad dash to a safe zone.
[SHELTER / ALCOVE]
Once she got closer she tripped, rolled and slid into the alcove, thankfully not slamming into any hunters, but the Trainee’s arrival was very sudden and hardly subtle. After a few deep breaths she adjusted her glasses, looked back for Sol, then looked up to see what she was hiding under

13. You manage to find an emergency shelter from the chaos in a cave alcove. If you roll this post, you do not need to roll any more. You can try to invite players into this, but they cannot reach this shelter unless they roll it as well. If you are there you are in the [SHELTER/ ALCOVE]
4. Ouch! You got stung! It begins to swell into an angry red welt. You don't feel so good, a strange dizziness overwhelms you. You now take 5 damage for the next 3 turns.
They had been so far away. After freeing herself, she began to belt it out beneath the glossy beast towards her... Friends? Sure, going with that for now.
Sonja quickly scrambled up and out on all fours for a moment to give herself a good head start.
Til she felt something hit her. Sharp and painful. Right her shoulder. One of the insects had decided to lay in wait for someone and their time at payed off.
"Jesus fu-!" Her feet carried her a bit further to land in the sand on said stung shoulder, her hand flying up to clasp over the rapidly growing welt.

5. A massive shape descends towards you - you realize belated it is the body of the centipede and for a moment your legs seize up, and you can't move. You need someone to QUOTE YOU to pull you away (or, if nobody does, you can just take the -10 damage).
This was what happened when she seemed to get a little too cocky. Great.
Just as she had noticed something wrong with her. Her vision was blurred and she felt heavy like a large block of lead... And she was sure something was blocking out the sun... Or had her vision gotten that bad?
She turned herself around, knees weak and hand still clutching her shoulder to stare up at the imposing form of the centipede... Slowly descending towards her...
'Well s**t.'

Vasily's leg hurt like hell, his vision a little dark: spots blocking out his view of the people around him as he fumbled with the pack of runic bandages in his hand. Before he could get them open, though, something slammed into him hard enough to steal his breath away.
For a moment, he was turned around, knocked off his feet and into the air. He lost track of up and down, all of him one long bruise.
As he hit the ground, he coughed and finally sucked in air, as well as more sand. And with shaky fingers, he finally pried the bandages open to heal himself.
Stormy's hand was on his, and then he found himself being thrown bodily sideways, Gale staggering in the sand as the flash of the sword came flickering into his vision. Sand exploded around them, the centipede's leg crashing into the ground, and Gale pushed himself back up again, gasping for breath.
A hand reached out instinctively, brushing sand from Stormy's face. "Caelius making us do his dirty work again," said Gale grimly, trying to ignore how fast his heart was beating. "I - "
He felt the sand beneath him shift, and then, with a startled yelp, he was being dragged under, Gale bellowing out a sound of fear and surprise, trying in vain to drag himself out from underneath the massive, roiling body of the centipede.
"Damn it - "
