(Hello again, All. <3)

Cecelia took the amulet from Micheal and turned it over in her hands. It was a simple piece, but pretty. She wondered briefly where he got it. Unclasping it, she put it around her neck. She had always had a weakness for pretty things. She was pleased to see it fit her neck perfectly.

Micheal looked hard at Estelle, concentrating on understanding her through her thick accent. Usually it wasn't so hard, but the woman's agitated state and fast talk was making it difficult.
Knooked up? They were... knocked up?! He looked more closely at the two. He couldn't really tell. He had examined the girls before they had tested the rituals. None had mentioned being pregnant, and he doubted a mother to be would put herself through experimental testing. So the ritual had more side effects?
If what she said was true.... He really didn't know what that meant. Except they needed to solve the monster problem soon. He needed to make sure he heard her right.
"Hey, Alex." he said, walking up to her friend. "Can you carry Cecelia? We need to get her with all the others. I'm sure we will find some place to put her at the observatory." They did need to leave here, and it might gave him a second with Estelle. He wanted to be quiet about it. Alex would definitely overreact, and he had no idea how Cecelia would take it.

Shikoba nodded her understanding. She took off the cloak and mask, figuring it really didn't matter what form she was in. Magically, the injuries would be the same. Plus, she had already shifted earlier. She really doubted that another would make a difference.
"Feel free. It hurt like hell, but for some reason I feel fine now." She still allowed Finita to take a look.

As Estelle continued ranting very loudly in dwarfish, a change fell over Cecelia as she donned the Amulet. Her scales tingled and she felt her tail separate? She found she suddenly had legs again! ... Unfortunately, she also was lacking a pair of pants...

Titania waited until the servants had taken the empty cup from Rakia, wearing an approving smile as she drank it without complaint. She then made some quick and elaborate gestures with her hands. A giant snowflake formed beneath her, crystallizing out of the icy air into its delicate pattern, as the swirling snow began to fall faster and thicker, dissolving the scene into a white blur. The whiteout faded and silence replaced the steady pitter-patter of windblown snow. The snowflake beneath the faery queen had expanded to cover the entire floor, which now was a glassy surface of ice that strangely emitted no cold. The walls of the palace were the same, though there appeared to be a clear and beautiful light shining from within them, giving it a magical, enchanted feeling. Everything glittered and shone in the soft clear illumination, the way the winter sunlight shone through icicles and made frost sparkle and sheet ice gleam.

Traceries of flowers or individual snowflakes were sealed inside the palace’s walls. The faery queen, Titania, drifted down, twirling, and alighted upon a throne carved from ice, lined with fluff woven from bearded hawthorn and cotton plants. Above, on the ceiling, hung crystal chandeliers made with ice shards. And the faeries that had been dancing and celebrating with their queen in the clearing now filled the throne room, surrounding them. Titania’s beautifully dressed servants stood to either side of her throne, in silent obedience. A pile of soft, thick cushions had materialized around the floor, before the throne; for her guests and visitors to sit upon when granted an audience with the queen.

"Please, sit, make yourself comfortable" Titania invited the kitsune woman, who should be the same size, give or take, as the people around her. A small table appeared, with delicacies and steaming cups of tea. The tea pot and cups looked as though they too, were ice. Kept from melting by a preservation spell.

***

Trying to stay out of everyone’s way was difficult in the confines of the smaller room, with her winding coils piled on top of each other like some kind of artsy pancake stack. Interchanging bands of colour tricked the eye so that it was hard to tell where one part began and another ended. She wrapped her arms around herself and closed her eyes, mulling over everything thus far.

She regretted her handbag and phone being back in the observation room. The gorgon was wishing to call someone and just explain she was going to stay on for further testing and trials. She could tell them that she was having a great time, the pay was good, and she didn’t think this would be so involved. Not lies exactly. She couldn’t tell the whole or exact truth but she could let them know some things, so they weren’t kept in the dark. Well, it had only been a day or so. Isaac was understandably wondering where she was and why it took so long to test some makeup products for a company.

She doubted her parents would be that concerned since he probably hadn’t voiced anything of his concerns to them, wisely enough. But if she didn’t make her weekly call to her mother, there’d be questions. And her girlfriends and work colleagues. Better ring in and let them know she’d be away on leave.

Helena found that strange, heavy feeling begin to weigh her down. Her thoughts started to drift, and she tried to open her eyes, only to realise she couldn’t, neither could she lift her head away from the wall.

'So…freaking…sleepy…ugh!' Concern pushed at the boundaries of her conscience when she realised her serpents had gone into their equivalent of sleep mode, like that incident in her room when the temperature went to Antarctica. Except it really wasn’t that cold in here. She shivered slightly, sagging against the wall. Oddly, she could feel herself slipping sideways, falling down the wall, and knew she must have looked a right sight. But there was nothing she could do. Helena was dragged off into dreamland, thanks to some weird narcoleptic spell that felt as comforting as a warm cocoon of blankets on a wintery day.

***

She stayed where she was after Ratchet had finished with her scrapes (on the floor, near the table). Lifting a hand, she felt the thin medical band aid he’d applied to the cut on her face, fingertips grazing the textured and porous fabric. She winced at the slightly sticky feeling of the adhesive on her skin, the stinging cream on her cut. Faint tremors still traced through her body, and she tried not to focus on the medicinal smells in the room, emanating from whatever disinfectants were used to clean the place and the medicine that had been put on her wounds. Her stomach felt tensed with nerves.

She used to always hold her sister’s hand. When they went to the doctor, they were always together. They’d help distract each other and would comfort each other. Today, she had a better replacement for the soft toy she used to hold though. Silvia was warm, soft and cute. She nodded without looking at Ratchet, still overly warm and feeling awkward from the earlier eye contact and communication. She’d probably try to avoid him for a while.

It was all right to be afraid, he said. The words, though she knew they were intended to be comforting, were somewhat unpleasant for her. Corel looked down at Silvia in her lap, sadness and guilt wiping the smile from her lips. She was always afraid, it seemed. She caused so much trouble because of her fear. It made her want to run, hide, escape in various ways. Often it made people angry and upset them, because trying to explain it was hard and she tended to avoid that too.

“There’s nothing…” Corel’s started in her timid voice, barely audible. She had something to say but quickly became alarmed at her own audacity and trailed off as the words got stuck in her throat. What was she saying? She couldn't say that! She couldn’t choke the words out, too embarrassed and ashamed to say. ‘There’s nothing okay about being a coward’.

She was sure none other of these women were as wimpy as her. They weren’t ruled by their fears. They weren’t controlled by them. They…were normal, and healthy.

A nod was given at Ratchet’s gentle advice to stick by him and the others; her to-be new family. What he said about Silvia made her pause though, eyes wide. She stared at Silvia, “G…girlfriend?” Oh. Oh…she was…his girlfriend! Which means, she must have a human form too. Well of course she did. It wasn't something she wanted to think about. Not right now. But…that meant she was hugging his girlfriend, didn't it? No. No, she was Corel’s fox. Her fox. Hers.

A soft whisper emitted before she could stop it. “I-is that so?” Well, that was just…how was she supposed to feel about that? Her mind was spinning again. Did she sound a bit hurt just then? A bit possessive? A bit confused? She hoped Ratchet hadn’t heard, or would let it drop if he had.

Something moved against the back wall, diverting the girl's gaze towards the fearsome snake woman. “Eh? Ah…! Um, sister Helena is...!” the girl shot to her feet, looking at Helena with alarm as she exclaimed aloud. Her older sister was apparently passing out and falling down the wall. Was she THAT tired? Kind of an inappropriate time to take a nap, and adults had more self control than that, so there had to be something wrong, hadn't there?

((I'm picturing the ice castle from Frozen now. Very nice.

And OMG. Ratchet has competition for Silvia's affections!))

Indeed the Kitsune had become an appropriate size to match Titania's. She was a tiny bit taller, and she looked about at the sudden change of scenery. The Kitsune woman saw the cushions and smiled, settling down as her nine tails wrapped around her. She settled on a cushion, sitting on her knees as she looked up at Titania. When the snacks and tea was presented she reached forward and took a cup and a snack, sipping and nibbling as she waited politely for Titania to speak first...

~~~
The little Giesha doll giggled, her tiny little wings fluttered at Ratchet's attention. Oh you~! She said sweetly. I'm sure I can make some time for cuddles! She hovered there as Ratchet left the room to get the X-ray machiene, giggling and seeming to dance where she hovered.
As Helena seemed to hit the wall face first and start to slip and slide down it, the little Gisha doll stopped in her floating play to look at her. She hovered closer to where Helena was laying comatose. The little geisha doll hovered over the gorgon like a little gossamer winged silver and red fairy, a frown on her little face.
She doesn't appear to be cold... narcolepsy? Asked the little Giesha to no one in particular. She waved her hands, and a sort of mane of purple fire lit up and down Helena's back, crackling and flickering merrily. The flames were warm, close to hot, but the heat wasn't uncomfortable and didn't burn the snake woman.
If she doesn't wake up from that... Declared the little Giesha, Then it IS narcolepsy!
~~~

Finita glanced over at the exclamation of both the little doll and Corel. She sighed and shook her head, her ears wiggling. She held up a finger to Shikoba.

One second.

She turned and headed over to the sleeping Gorgon, and looked at her piles of tail and her rather awkward face-plant into the wall. The Minotauress glanced at the doll, then hovered a large four fingered hand over the fire. When it didn't grow uncomfortably hot, she picked up Helena's torso and re-arranged her into a more comfortable position.

There, that's better. She said, looking down at Helena who was now propped up against her coils. Should be easier on her face too.

That's when Ratchet returned with the X-ray machiene. Finita stepped over (careful not to step on Helena's tail) and with an approving nod to Ratchet picked up the whole machine, cart and all-- mainly, again, she didn't want to run over Helena's tail, which in this section of the room was coiled up everywhere. Peering around the machine and the cart in her arms, she then headed back to Shikoba.

So you feel fine now, Hmm? Said the Minotauress as she set up the equipment quickly and deftly. Do you have any idea why?

~~~
I watched all this going on from the safety of Corel's arms. However, once I had my Giesha doll help make sure Helena was okay, I returned my attention to Corel.
I glanced up at her, tickling her chin with my ears. I wondered what she was thinking. The intent I was feeling from her felt muddled, confused, as if she didn't know what she wanted to do. I licked her chin and nuzzled her throat.
Could it be that the Mer-queen in her was waking up?
Titania regarded the woman with concern; her dishevelled appearance, pale skin and bruised eyes, and the fox features that marked her clearly as one of the mythical races. She could tell that the woman must have experienced or seen much and felt sad for her, but also worried about whatever news she was bringing. Already she knew that it wasn’t going to be easy to hear. Titania suppressed a shudder, steeling herself for what would come. She didn’t know if her heart could take this, but she would do her best to listen to what the woman had to say. She almost wished that the kitsune was here on a visit, nothing more. If she didn’t hear the message this woman brought, it would be like it never happened. But that would be careless of her. And while Titania was often caught up in being carefree and encouraged others to be the same, she was far from careless when it came to her faeries.
“Why do you think we Faeries will be the next magical race to be…to be wiped out?” she questioned softly, finding it hard to say the words. The thought of her beloved court being destroyed was almost too much to consider. Titania swallowed, and took a gulp of tea to steady herself. Her court did not harm anyone. They oversaw the natural world and the cycles of seasons, looking after the flowers and plants. Without them, things could quickly tip out of balance.
“What or who could do such a terrible thing?” She murmured, looking into her tea cup and lightly tracing a fingertip around the edge. She appeared to be talking to herself as much as her guest. The faeries either side of the throne did not change their positions, though shadows of worry crossed their faces at how troubled their queen was appearing. Titania’s gaze drifted back over to the crimson lady and alighted on her thoughtfully. She then gasped. “Oh, forgive me! Here I am asking you these questions and we have not been properly introduced. Pray, what is your name, dear woman?” Titania meant no harm in asking her guest’s name, unlike some of the more conniving, dark faeries who might use it for a person’s harm. She simply wanted to know the name of their helper. “And please, stay here and rest as long as you like. You look like you could use a good sleep and some decent food”. She smiled, “We have plenty to share with friends”.
***
The snake woman shifted in her sleep, uttering a soft moan of contentment at the warmth of the flames. If anything, they soothed her into a deeper sleep as her reptile body absorbed the comforting heat. Her face relaxed into a peaceful expression and her body became less tense and rigid. She was unconsciously basking in the purple fire.
Helena, were she awake, would tell anyone who’d listen that she’d never had a sleep disorder in her life, and that this sort of very specific narcolepsy was really strange. She’d had people drop off all the time whilst giving massages, but this was nothing like that. It came on all of a sudden. Was it a side effect of being a mythical creature? Or maybe she was more stressed than she realised. Perhaps she should have some fun, give a few makeovers. Drifting in and out of the phases of sleep, she dreamed of the sunbathed stone, a favourite basking place near the lotus pool in the palace garden, a little secluded area of jungle where she would retreat to. She was draped over the rock, fingers trailing lazily in the water just below, her eyes closed, her scales catching the sunlight. Not a care in the world…
Except, in this dream, there was something different, apart from the fact she now was Sarakshi, enjoying her sunning stone, and not an outsider wondering why she had some fixation with a random large rock. The gorgon queen’s free hand was gently stroking her belly, which protruded, rounded, and smooth, and very much pregnant.
The dream shifted around her, and Helena was momentarily disoriented as the rock beneath her seemed to move and the world to sway. But the movement stopped and her mind quickly supplemented the information that she had merely rearranged herself into a more comfortable position.
***
Corel stayed on the ground with Silvia, petting her ears and scratching her under the chin. She was thinking of the things Magz, the little firebird, had said to her, and the things Ratchet had told her. She hadn’t known it this morning when she was dropped off here that her whole life was going to change. It was still scary and overwhelming. Maybe it wouldn’t be so bad with others around who were in the same situation. But she couldn’t shake her fears.
She worried that she would be the odd one out even after she went through the transformation. What if she somehow managed to annoy everyone? What if she got powers and couldn’t control them because she was too scared? She might hurt someone. She could become a monster instead. What if she turned into something she didn’t like? She felt sick to her stomach wondering what sort of procedure she’d have to go through, hating the odd feeling, the pull that she couldn’t disengage from. It was so irresistible, and she wanted to follow it, yet…yet it seemed to grow stronger if she concentrated on it, and that made her head spin. Images of water splashed the edges of her mind and she quickly shook her head.
If she focused, she almost fell into a trance again, with the sounds of waves rushing in her ears. The loss of control was terrifying. Corel felt a little dizzy, as though she were underwater. The air felt thick, and she took deep breaths, having the odd sensation that she couldn’t get enough into her lungs. She tried to distract herself, focus on something else. She glanced around the room again, taking in the different appearances of the women there.
All the other women seemed comfortable enough in their new forms, even the *shudder* slithery snake. Magz said that her transformation didn’t hurt and that none of the ladies here knew what they were in for before they transformed, She said they were coping the best they could. She said they were meant to come here and to transform. Indeed none of them could be called monsters, but…but it was so different to anything she knew. Corel knew it was all true though. She’d promised Magz that she would try as hard as she could, to do her best and go through with it. Anyway, there was nowhere and no way to escape, even if she wanted to. And the sparrow sized phoenix had promised to oversee her transformation. She had Silvia now, too.
“Thank you…for helping me…Silvia” she whispered, just for the kitsune to hear, hugging her. “Sorry for causing so much trouble. I don’t know why but, I feel calmer so long as you’re with me. The idea of losing you scares me to pieces. I don’t know why, but I want us to stay together”. She admitted softly. Corel glanced around, making sure no one was listening or watching. She leaned down, allowing her hair to fall forward and kissed the fox on the top of its head. “So please, stay with me, at least until the tr-transformation part is over. Sorry to trouble you so much. I know I’m a burden. I feel like someone else should have been chosen, and not me”. She took a shaky breath “Except I also feel like this is completely natural, and right and I want to transform. But I don’t want to! Do I? It’s all so confusing” She was pretty sure she was crying again as droplets landed on Silvia’s head, though thankfully she was good at doing so silently. “I..I’m starting to feel really strange”. It was hard to tell if the images of water, the sound of underwater bubbles, the sea...were memories or just an overactive imagination. Water was her greatest fear.
The fox woman sipped her drink, the cup flat in her palm and the other hand holding it up to her face. She drank silently, as Titania was left to her worries and whispered questions.
Finally after draining the cup, she lowered it and closed her eyes, just after she asked of the Kitsune's name.
My true name is shared by scent. However, know me as Rakia. I am the last surviving Kistune. It... started with my kind. A being, incredibly evil, seems to be following me. Some places I reach after they have been wiped out, others peoples I get in time to warn. You, thankfully, I have managed too. Rakia spoke. Her words were quiet, but they traveled clearly in the uncomfortable silence of the room. It has possessed the most powerful and wise wizard in the world... The Merlin.
To this the collected fey gasped in shock and horror... and terror. He was known to the Seelie Court over which Titania rules as a Friend to many; he also was the one human to know the most about the fey's strengths... and weaknesses. For such powerful knowledge to fall in the wrong hands...
~~~

Sarakshi soon heard the slither of scales approaching. The sound was soft, and had it not been for the silence of the pool and her sunbathing area, she may not have heard them coming.

My queen. Came a familiar voice, a voice beloved to Sarakshi. Next to her was a kingsnake gorgon, with white hair and purple patterns, holding a tray of fresh food for her. He was handsome, though he had some scars across his chest, arms and tail and over one eye, though for all his roughness he looked to Sarakshi with nothing but a loyal and loving gaze. It wasn't Re Sthart... it was his father.

I have food for you, my love.

Funny thing was, to Helena, that face was familiar to her current life, not merely to Sarakshi's...

~~~
I licked her cheek and nuzzled her as Corel confessed all this to her. She was strong, she had courage... she simply had to find it. and only she could find it, for no one could find it for her.
The images, the memories, seemed to tease her, reminding her, tugging at Corel's mind until...
She found herself swimming with amazing speed through the Deep Blue. It was known so because she was surrounded by the color, all around her, as far as the eye could see. The water flowed through her hair, casuing it to sway and move in an almost ethreal manner. She had a trident in her hand and a big smile on her face as she swam and swam, not a care in the world. She felt not an ounce of fear in her heart at this moment.
She was chasing something. A hint of red? A siren! No, not a siren. Something in the form of a siren. A land creature in the shape of one. Very skilled, she was. And a friend. The siren looked back at her, a cloud of crimson and silver strands whipping about her face as she was far ahead of Corel. The siren ahead showed signs of age now, though not in her face-- in her hair and scales, red tinged with silver.
The red Siren was fast approaching a large creature... a great white shark. Corel knew it had been terrorizing her kind recently, thinking of them as prey. The beast, the size of a pickup truck, needed to be put down.
What happened there was an expert show of team work; both her and the crimson siren worked to slay the creature, as the siren-- Rakia? That was the name she put to the face-- taunted it and made the creature swim in circles chasing her, before Corel found herself sinking her trident's prongs into the huge shark's tail and fins when it got too close. All the while the two had talked and laughed like good friends, not worried at all about the massive shark and the danger it posed.
And then Corel found herself back in the Medic room, holding a tiny silver fox kit in her arms like nothing had happened...
Ratchet kind of watched everyone in the background as he began to fiddle with the X-ray machine. Thanks to it kind of being an old model, and not being used in a while, it was acting up. Ratchet wasn't that good with mechanics, so he was leafing through one of the manuals he found with the machine.
He had an odd sinking suspicion that it was going to be needed a lot more soon. Yet it wasn't like they were pregnant or anything, so it would probably be needed for medical properties like seeing broken bones and such. Looking up he noticed how attached Corel seemed to be with Silvia. That woman was a magnet for all kinds of attention.
Frowning he wondered what life would be like after this fiasco was dealt with? What next? he wondered returning to the pages of the manual, Is everyone going to try and breed their races back into this world? That could be a possibility, though what about the relatives on the outside and everything? I'm lucky I don't have to really worry about my family much, not like they really cared what I did anyway,
~~~~~

A young brown haired boy sits in an empty playground, surrounded by empty swings. As a boy he was always teased for being so shy and quiet. His parents fought often leaving him alone. Ratchet would run out of the house and swing in the playground until one of them came to get him.

It was like he was cursed or something. As a boy he was timid and shy, not one who wanted to be noticed much at all. He felt like his life didn't matter one bit, seeing how his parents always seemed to fight. Ratchet was embarrassed, lonely, and unsure how to reach out.

Most of the kids he grew up with either made fun of him or just ignored him. There was one child that seemed to try and cheer him up. A girl, there would be times she would just randomly show up at the playground and give him flowers or asked if she could join in. Then she would talk about all sorts of things. If ever there was a happy moment in his younger days it was during those times he swung with that little girl.

She eventually moved away before he could really get her name. She appeared in his mind from time to time, Ratchet wondered if she was doing alright for herself? He sometimes wondered what would have happened if she stayed in the town he grew up in?

Would they have fallen in love and married? Would he just get a regular nine-to-five job supporting a growing family? Perhaps, then again maybe it was always his fate to be alone. Even now as an adult it was hard to express his true feelings for love and romance.

He was afraid of becoming a father honestly. Mostly due to his parent's bad examples. Sure he found Silvia to be cute, but how did she really feel about him? What if there were other kitsune out there? Maybe everyone will end up leaving once this is all over, leaving him alone in this lab while they go experience their "true" forms.

Everyone left him in the end, Ratchet was always forgotten, even by his own parents. It had been years since he heard from them. No letters, no e-mails, no phone calls. He had tried to call several times but they were always too busy to talk.

Maybe these women were only Human for now, but when their true feral instincts kicked in they would probably scatter and find more of their race to live with. Ratchet felt a bit out of place now, everything had been moving so fast.

Sure he was used to all of this, but he couldn't help but feel that something big was going to happen to them soon. Something that would just overshadow him again. Heck, Finita didn't need him anymore, now that she was taller than he was. Part of him still felt kind of useless.

Turning around he wiped his misted eyes as he began to work on the machine. In a half-hour or so it finally decided to work. Quietly getting up he walked back into the room to wheel out one of the spare X-ray beds.

~~~~~
Alex stared at the Siren and Micheal with odd curiosity. Did he have the hots for Cecelia? He couldn't blame the dude really, she was kind of hot actually. For a siren...a creature that ate souls. Or something like that.
Estella was pretty much lost in her own little world. She was so odd too, were all her kind this odd? When Micheal asked him to carry the siren he smiled but then blinked watching as her tail suddenly changed back into a pair of human legs. She was also pantless...a deep blush fell upon his face as he quickly looked away and began to comically scramble for something to give her. Grabbing his coat he handed it to her.
"H-Here..." he stuttered out one of his hands covering his eyes as another held out his coat for her to cover herself with.
PostPosted: Wed Jul 23, 2014 10:47 pm
Cecelia feel a weird itchy-tingling all over the body the minute she put on the necklace. She shuddered, grimacing but it was soon over. She looked down and the first thing she saw was legs. Legs! She loved her gorgeous gem covered tail, but she had missed these a little. She could be out of the water for awhile! Being by herself was getting lonely.
In her excitement, it took her a few moments to realized the problem. It wasn't till Alex handed her a coat that she noticed. She looked from the coat to him confused and then back down. Her pale skin turned a bright pink with embarrassment as she took the coat from him.
As fast as she could, she stood up and covered her nakedness, ignoring the sand stuck to her legs.
"T-thanks, Alex. I wasn't expecting that." she said, feeling awkward about it. "Should... should we get out of here?" she asked, glancing from Alex to the ranting Estelle and anxious looking scientist.
Magz woke from a nap, shaking her blazing feathers. She looked about the room, curiously. It seemed everyone was getting along well since she had closed her eyes. Even the shy one, Corel. A sweet girl.
Her eyesmdrifted around the room, taking in the varied amounts of activity. Her eyes feel on the glum looking Ratchet. After a moment of consideration, she flew to his shoulder.
"Are you alright? Want to talk about it?" she asked softly, concerned.
Micheal put a hand on Estelle's shoulder. "Estelle, please. Calm down." he said soothingly. He needed her attention and he really didn't want to panic the other two. "I don't know if I heard you right... Did you say you were pregnant?" he asked softly.
Shikoba waited patiently for Finita to come back to her. She was in no rush. Honestly, she hoped that her "check-up" would be dropped, but the Minotauress was too thorough for that. She was glad the Gorgon was okay. Today was an exhausting day, she wasn't surprised the snake woman passed out.
Shikoba looked herself over again and shrugged. "All I know, is that I felt awful and then the girl and the fox ran by. There was a silvery glow and I was better." she explained with a shrug.
“Rakia” A strong name, with sharp edges, yet hints of feminine that made it shine. Olivia nodded, memorising the woman’s name. She was sad to hear the kitsune was the last of her kind. It must be lonely or at least, difficult to feel so detached, none of her race left but for memories. This person, though, was selfless. Instead of wallowing in her misery or focusing on her losses, she was trying hard to help save the other races, and she was reaching out to the faeries. Olivia offered a kind and gentle smile again in her guest’s direction.
Her face fell when she heard what the woman had to tell and though her smoothed expression showed no fear in front of her beloved court; her dainty gloved hand was paused midway in the act of lifting her teacup, oddly stiff and stilled.
“This evil sounds as though it may not be following you, but that you are pursuing it. Or perhaps it can predict your movements; such is its power and knowledge, and is playing some sick games with you. For you state that sometimes it reaches the peoples before you discover the aftermath”, she spoke, trying to make sense of the information. One look into the fox woman’s eyes told her there was no lie in what she said and her fairies seemed to know it too. There was a rush of panicked whispers and cries, frightened reactions when the wizard was revealed to be possessed.
“The Merlin, oh my poor friend, it is understandable that the evil would choose such a powerful person for its ends. But he knows so much of our ways, our weaknesses, our strengths. We know him well, we trust him, we have grown so fond of him and now this. I know he surely must never have meant for this to happen. He was a kind and wonderful man”. She couldn’t help feeling angry at whatever had taken over the kindly old wizard and done all these terrible things. Olivia placed the teacup down with a small c***k of iced dishware, and quickly folded her shaking hand into her lap, clasping her hands together tightly. She drew a deep breath. “In that case, we will simply have to, to come up with something because that will never do! There is always a catch, a weakness, a clue. How long do you believe we have to make plans, a defense? Our magic is strong. Maybe we can find a way to save the Merlin, free him from this evil” she asked Rakia, making her voice sound calmer and more confident, acting more proactive than she felt. Inside, her winter heart was weeping jewelled tears through the cracks that had been rented in it, for this girl, for everything. Outside, she had to be the queen her people needed, and that meant showing no fears.
“My King” Sarakshi smiled broadly without opening her eyes, tasting his scent, her snakes sending back visual and sensory information that formed a clear image behind her gold-shaded eyelids. If it had been anyone else interrupting her, irritation would have reared its head, but it was all right, because it was him, and he wasn’t here to annoy her (he knew better than that). A more delightful warmth than any the sunning rock could provide washed over her, centred in her chest, a steady, comfortable kind of feeling that she relished.
“I love how thoughtful you are. You seem to know just when I need something” Sarakshi commented. She laughed softly, rolling slowly onto her side and opening her eyes to look up at him through sleepy lashes, and strands of striped hair. Her tongue slithered out to sample the food particles dancing in the air and her stomach rumbled, but she was looking directly at him.
“Mm, tasssty!” Sarakshi’s eyes sparkled mischievously and her hand drifted over to lightly brush a scar on his chest with her fingertips. Her other arm was cradling the side of her belly. She was certainly hungry, and interested in the meal. But when they were alone and she could let her guard down, she was allowed to be a little playful.
In her slumbering state, smushed half against the wall and half leaning on her own coiled body and folded arms, Helena gave a rather loud and long snore, the kind of contented snore of one that was fast asleep in the middle of the night. Her mouth hung slightly open and because her cheek was pressed up against her arm, she couldn’t close it without turning her head slightly. Thus, there was a thin stream of drool leaking out from the corner of her mouth and her fangs and tongue were partly on display for the world to see. Helena looked absolutely charming, in the most sarcastic expression of the phrase. The beauty therapist and massage specialist, lover of makeovers, champagne and shopping, would normally never be caught dead in such a pose outside of the comfort of her own house. Alas, her pregnancy-induced narcolepsy strangeness wasn’t picky about where it chose to shut her down – on full display to the public or not.
Except that something had happened. The giddy thrill of it had left her reeling, grinning like a loon. But the vision couldn’t last forever, and when it faded, her smile faded with it. What the heck was that? She was losing control of her own mind. She had to be. She was having a breakdown. She was melting under the pressure. She couldn’t take it! That was the only way to explain the weird trip her mind had just taken her on. Geez! Corel wasn’t a psychic. She didn’t have powers. She hadn’t even been through her ritual yet for crying out loud! This was obviously her body’s way of coping with the large amounts of crazy it couldn’t deal with. Yeah.
Things still weren’t right though. The rest of the room had faded. Everything and everyone seemed distant. She could still feel the salt water tingling against her skin, the sleek satin of her scales, the rush of happiness and adrenaline, the assurance of the gleaming trident in her hand. Corel looked at her open hand, and then slowly around the room. The ghosts of her memories left traces, so strong they left afterimages, a golden handle against her palm, a deep blue tint to the surroundings. Things wavered slightly, like they were under ocean currents. Corel blinked and tried shaking her head. When that didn’t work, she closed her eyes and heard her heart beating faster. Maybe if she could relax, this spazzy vision would go away. Yeah. That’s it. Just…relax.
But when she opened her eyes again, the afterimages were still there. She could feel water rushing into her mouth and nose, gliding through her gills…that she didn’t have. Something lurking deep in her brain triggered in that moment, and once the switch had been flipped, there was an abrupt shift. Her current incarnation rebelled, rationalising, and shoved away the happy, carefree queen of the mermaids playing with her friend and defeating the shark. Instead, the four walls of the room shrank, closing in, the thickened illusionary water caught in her human lungs. She choked on that and her terror while the image of her sister flashed into her mind, smothering her ‘true self’ so she was drowning in an ocean of sadness.
She had grasped her sister’s limp body with her thin arms, panicky, pulling her towards the surface. Rochelle was heavier than she’d thought, and she could feel the tight fear in her chest almost forcing her take a breath but there was no air, only water. She tugged, kicked. Her hand slipped, her sister’s hair swaying gently in the water as she drifted back to the bottom of the plastic pool. There was something wrong with her. She wasn’t opening her eyes. Corel didn’t know what was wrong. She knew she had to get her out of the water. She grabbed her twin again, pulling on her arm, grabbing a part of the spa pool and using it to push up. Why was it so hard? Finally Corel pulled them both out of the water. Her sister was dragged to the side, and she could hear herself yelling her sister’s name over and over, yelling for their parents. “Mummy! Daddy! Something’s wrong! Heeeellp! Mummy! Rochelle! Rochelle got hurt! Help me!”
The room began to tilt and the young woman fell forwards, leaning onto one hand, her eyes distant, lost in the nightmare. She didn’t seem to see Silvia on her lap anymore, or indeed, anyone or anything else. “Rochelle…Rochelle!” The girl was hyperventilating; probably what was making her lightheaded. Her voice wasn’t meek and timid now. She was shouting for the whole room to hear and sobs broke through. Tears began to fall, but she couldn’t seem to break out of it. “Don’t drown! I’ll save you! Rochelle!” She was falling….drowning. Her sister could be seen beneath her, waiting on the ocean floor, with arms outstretched and joyful smile on her face; her three year old sister, whose voice echoed in her heart’s memory, happy, alive.
“Corel! …Let’s play! Let’s swim together. They won’t know…”
giggles, mischievous and playful, were the last thing she heard, before she hit the floor.
((So there you have it: Mey manages to knock out all of her characters within a couple of posts. I promise I’ll fix that. Lol.Helena should wake up soon, or Olivia - maybe both of them))
Lady Aryana of the Seelie
She kept her eyes closed as she listened to Titania speak.
I... have no idea. She said softly. It could be months, could be a matter of moments. I have heard the tales of how time flows in the Faewilds.
She opened her eyes, but they had taken on a glow of gold. What was visible of her eyes showed that they were unfocused as if she couldn't see what was infront of her. Her face was drawn up in a heavy wince as crimson blood started to drip from her nose.
Not... long...
She swayed heavily as she blinked, her eyes returning to normal, and slumped down, unconscious. Her cup clinked loudly on the icy floor; her illusion shattering in a violent shower of fiery violet sparks. Before she hit the floor she had transformed immediately into her crimson furred nine tailed fox form that was still dwarfed almost all of the fae there...
Just then, another figure strode into the room. He had short white hair, deep blue eyes, and the wings of a dragonfly. It Titana's husband, Oberon! He was in his furred leaf hunting outfit, hauling a mouse that was 3 times the size of he. He had just got back from hunting and it would make good feast for the palace.
My dear? What do I hear of a weary travelle-- His words were brought up short by the sight of the crimson fox out like a light in the center of the throne room floor.
His eyes narrowed as he dropped the mouses tail and strode over to her immediately. He knelt next to the fox's head and ran his fingers through the soft fur on her neck.
Huh...
~~~

Rajesh, Sarakashi's husband, smiled at her. He coiled the tip of his tail around hers; He loved Sarakashi a great deal, and he couldn't help but think of her beautiful no matter what she was doing or what was going on.

He slithered closer and set down the tray on a small stone table set up near her sunning rock, and leaned in to gently and affectionately brush the strands of striped hair from infront of her face. He gave her a gentle kiss on the cheek as his snakes nuzzled her own.

You are as beautiful as ever, my queen. I am happy to bring you your meals. How is the little one doing? He asked, lifting up Sarakshi gently and righting her. He was being rather affectionate.

~~~
I started to yip loudly as Corel hit the floor started having a hysterical panic attack. She was crying for a Rochelle. Who is Rochelle? A little sister? A dear friend? I held her against me as my tails curled around us both. Ugh... too late. She was out light a light.
With a poof of violet fire I was in human form again, wearing a silver and red kimono and my silver tails splayed about behind me as I was the one now holding the girl carefully. What had happened? A vision? Possibly. A vision of her past life most likely. What had she seen? From what I remembered, Mer were very happy creatures, almost fearless. What had...? Or was she simply afraid of everything that wasn't super soft and cuddly? Humans minds were so resilient to healing.
I closed my eyes and shook my head. When did I start thinking like that?
~~~

Finita has just started running the x-ray when Corel started crying out in terror. Her head snapped up again, and she glanced back and forth between Shikoba and where Silvia had poofed back into human form, before the machine nearly smacked her in the face with a printout. Finita looked it over, seeing no visible damage whatsoever, before tossing it over her shoulder.

You're fine.

She then hurried over and knelt next to Silvia, who was now holding Corel. The two looked at each other, before back down at Corel...

~~~
Estelle looked up at Micheal as he put a hand on her shoulder. Her hair was still coiling, but it was not longer looking like an afro made of bronze wire. She glanced back at Alex and Cecelia, debating something in her little dwarf mind. She felt like this wasn't something a dwarf would do, but her human side, what of it that was still there, told her that Micheal wanted subtly.
Oh, aye. She said quietly. Et started after these rune's showed up after mah transformation. They're... not lyke tha othar runes. They were floatin arund, all dramatic lyke, befer sinkin into meh. I onleh just nou figured oot what they mean. The othars... they ended up knocked uup beforre theh even finsihed their tranformation. Cecelia, I... Ah wouldn't be surprised ef the others were too.
