Mal had long since dived back beneath the turmoil filed surface of the water. He was done with this whole affair but he swore if he ever saw that winged wonder again he was owed something a bit more than that metal collar.

Davros was running on pure adrenaline, uncaring of who or what got in his way, all he was interested in was hauling butt out of there. He thought he felt the walker's jaws snap near his hindquarters but he kept on moving. His wings carried him high above the lake and then quickly over the trees and the forest surrounding the water. He eventually found a calm rocky outcropping high up on a cliff's edge. He lowered himself gingerly to the rock formation and noted with some satisfaction that there was a cave just down from his nice, wide ledge. It would due if he needed to drag himself out of the rain. For now though, all he wanted to do was rest.

Rotti furiously stuck his head down under the water looking for whatever it had been that had cost him his meal. Snarling he pulled his head back out and roughly shook the water from his face. Narrowing his eyes to search the skies, but he knew it would be a fruitless effort. The bird was already long gone. Growling he kicked and sloshed his way from the lake and glared back at the murky surface of the water. What should have been an easy meal was now nothing. He made notes of the location and considered the other settlements in the area. "I suppose it's time that my saddle carries another passenger," said the dark fox. "And then...I'll be back. And I'll take good care of this place." After all, he was the type to hold a grudge for a Very long time.

Safe beneath the surface of the water, or at least as safe as any soul could be with an angry walker with in 100 feet of them, Mal listened to the monster's words. "Looks like it's time to be clearing out of this watering hole," he muttered to himself. He was willing to take some risks to help his family make ends meet, or to grow Zo's treasure horde - but he had a family now to think about, a mighty pretty merlady that he wanted to prove himself to, a pair of sons, and a sweet little daughter - add all those in with his occasionally air headed little brother and he had a number of motivations to keep him from tempting fate too much. Of course he would also have to convince the rest of his crew to stay clear of here too. He would just have to depend on his charms, good looks, and extraordinary abilities as a leader. Yeah, this was going to go well.

Rotti looked around one more time mapping out the landscape and turned to the closest tree. He reared on his back legs and set about marking this territory as his own to infest. Using his front claws he dug deep scratches into bark of several of the nearby trees. Stepping back to observe his work he found he was satisfied. To an untrained eye one might suppose this was the work of a simple bobcat or puma. But it would serve to warn others of his kind away. If anyone was going to bring pain and misery to this region it was going to be him or they would pay the price.

Mal swam away as fast as he could. Up the river, away from the once peaceful lake that would probably never know peace again. As he made his escape, he couldn't help but think that this was somehow that blasted flyer's fault. If he had just given up that collar none of this would have ever happened. But nothing to do about it now. In fact, Mal figured it would be best for everyone if he simply didn't mention the whole thing ever again. Aside from warning his family and especially Zo and Tash away from this place. Last thing he needed was any member of his family getting all mixed up in anything with a skinwalker.
