I don't understand why there is so much difference. They are both pronounced the same. It's not like the 'k' adds a whole nother sound. I have seen magick spelled magyck. It's actually the title of a book the author wrote. I was interested in reading it, but I never got around to buying it XD So I have no clue what the differencee the author is trying to create. Maybe I'll go to the library and find it.

Interestingly enough - I'd associate "magick" with fantasy magic well before I would "magic", as fiction authors are some of the main people who use it (or some other funky spelling) in that context.
Funny, I used to use the spelling "magick" in my fictional stories when referring to all the glitz, glam, and sparklies that was magic in my stories. I think it was even someone's name in one of my earlier works. I should dig that up.
