Bneut placed some perfectly ripened fruit on Esmee's plate. "They should be tasty, a few more days and it would have been apples instead." He closed his eyes for a moment, smiling. Quickly he realized that if he didn't have his eyes open that he wouldn't be able to watch her speak. "Sorry, did you say something while my eyes were closed?"

Esmée chuckled, shaking her head. "I prefer to eat in silence." She lifted the food to her mouth and took a bite. Mm, fresh fruit was juicy. Giggling, a foreign sound to even her own ears, Esmée attempted to wipe some of the juice away from her mouth with the back of her hand. Perhaps she could get used to these fresher fruits. Juicy fruit was rather amusing with the way it gushed.

"As long as you don't mind, that is. I'll nudge you if I need you to open your eyes?" Esmée winked at him. Hopefully, he was fine with not making conversation while they ate. She always found that a bit annoying...

Bneut nodded, "Silence is nothing new Esmee." He said, watching her as she spoke, resisting the strong urge to wipe the bit of juice she had missed off her cheek. "If you'd like." Bneut smiled, leaning close to her. "Anything you want me for." The demon wasn't thinking if she would be comfortable with him being close for a moment, and slowly reached his hand to her cheek. He pressed his thumb just at the edge of her lip, pulling it down gently, making sure that her face was clean, unstained.

When his thumb brushed her cheek, Esmée counted her blessings. Even if people insisted she had the cheeks of the clown, her red dots on her face hid the bright blush that formed. Why was she blushing? He was doing the simple act of wiping her cheek, but even that seemed strangely ...romantic. Either she was delusional, was turning into Aysu, or actually liked the deaf, artistic, soft-spoken man in front of her. Esmée wanted to opt for option A, but it was hard to tell. Well, this was a learning experience, so she might-as-well go with it.

Esmée opened her mouth to say thank you, but then decided she was better off not saying anything. It would ruin the quiet. Instead, she took her chances and lightly kissed the thumb on the bottom of her lip.

The demon blinked as she kissed his thumb, wondering why she would have done so. It took him a moment to realize that his wanting her to have a clean face seemed a romantic gesture of sorts. Promptly Bneut turned a deep red, masking only because of the fact that he was already such a dark color. He thought for a moment, trying to remember what his father and great uncle had told him to do, but nothing was coming to him. "To chance it or to stop now and not offend her..." The morning glory pae thought to himself, mentally shaking his head and leaning a bit closer to Esmee. She really was the perfect subject, even if she couldn't see the artist that was drawing her.

Was he leaning towards her? Was that a good thing? Why did her heart jump? What did all of this insanity mean? The intellectual, who relied so much on logic, was confused by what her brain was telling her and what was going on right in front of her. Perhaps there was not supposed to be any logic to it, for it made no logical sense for her to be blushing at the advances of the deaf, artistic, soft-spoken man. It also made no sense for her to be leaning towards him as he leaned towards her? What was going on, and why was it so hard to simply shut her process off.

Breathe. Esmée, stop. Just absorb the environment like a sponge and stop worrying. It'll be fine. With that determination, she scooted closer.

Bneut looked at her, blinking a bit more as he was still very confused. The demon had been thinking more along the lines of getting closer so she could see, but she seemed to be thinking of something else. He wasn't sure if it was a good idea, but he scooted a bit closer to her. Bneut brushed a bit of hair out of her face, continuing to look at her. If she wanted to do something he didn't want to assume, something told him that it would be a bad idea to assume things.

She blushed harder at feeling him so close. In her eyes, this was all rather silly--yet, somehow, it seemed enchanting at the same time. She wasn't sure why, but Esmée promised herself she would stop thinking of these ridiculous things. It just was not helping her research, if this could even be considered research anymore. What was it now? Was she supposed to kiss him, though? He was close, so was that what she was meant to do? Esmée vaguely brushed a piece of his hair away from his eyes. Something was thrilling about the strange uncertainty that was coming with this all. Unfortunately, the uncertainty of emotion left her uncertain as to what she was supposed to do now. Was Bneut planning something?

Bneut closed his eyes, mentally shaking himself. It took him a moment before he backed up a bit, nervous and confused. On one hand he wanted to kiss her, but on the other hand he didn't want to offend her or move too quickly and scare her off. She was the only pae he had met that he actually liked to paint and wanted to date or at least see again.

And now he backed away. Perhaps he was just as bewildered as she was. This was a very uncertain situation. She didn't want to do something she wasn't supposed to, but perhaps there was no "supposed to" or "should do" in this situation. If she kept questioning it, she would miss her chance. That was how it was in precise sciences. Some things only happened in one specific instance, and that instance could only last seconds. Perhaps this was her only window, even if the results of such a forward action could not be foreseen.

...Why did she have to think so logically? Esmée shook her head at herself before breaking their distance and pressing her lips to his. Was she supposed to do that? Too late to question that now. How would he react?

The demon's eyes widened in shock. It took him a moment before he remembered what to do, and he pressed his lips back against hers, hesitating a moment before putting a hand on the back of her head, pulling them a bit closer in a gentle manner. Mentally he was telling himself to stop and back away now, but that seemed like such a small voice in the back of his head.

This wasn't bad at all! Esmée's wings fluttered, as she just let herself enjoy these moments of irrational emotion. It was for the best, and indeed, it was through that method that she found the most enjoyment. After a few moments that seemed to last forever, Esmée pulled back, but kept her face all too close to his. Then, she couldn't help the light, mild chuckle that escaped her lips. Well, she certainly wasn't expecting that happen today. ...Not that such a pleasant experience was unwelcome.

"I--uh--wow." Perhaps she should stop talking before she said anything stupid. Esmée chuckled again, her eyes sparkling with a happiness she hadn't gotten from another Pae'il ever.

Bneut smiled as he backed away, opening his eyes to see her. "T-thank you." the male said, unsure really of what to say. Truth be told he was unsure of what to do next as well as what to say. He gazed at Esmee, quite amazed that she had kissed him, even more amazed at how enjoyable kissing her was. It was no wonder why his parents were always kissing each other.
PostPosted: Tue Oct 23, 2007 3:59 pm
They weren't moving too fast, were they? Well, the kiss was rather enjoyable. If she was moving too fast, her brain would have told her the kiss was horrible, right? Well, no matter. She was happy, and Bneut was happy. If they were both content, then Esmée decided that they were not moving too fast. "No, thank you." This kissing thing wasn't bad at all! Bneut was lovely, too, which was probably what made the kisses so delightful. Should she kiss him again? The thought tempted her, but perhaps she should eat more of her breakfast first. The angel laughed cheerfully.

He broke out into a large smile, unable to prevent it. "You suit your alignment Esmee." Bneut wasn't sure why he had said it, or even if it made any sense now that it had been spoken. He had meant to say that she really was an angel, but it came out so funny that he just chuckled after the demon spoke. "Sorry, that sounded funny. I meant to say you're a very sweet angel Esmee. I owe you more thanks than you know."
