Tafari sighed and knew that this wasn't going to be pleasant but oh well, if the Chieftain wishes to punish him then so be it, he would accept it (not like he didn't have a choice, ) he wasn't against being back here completely, it was home, he did love the tree but still, he just wasn't in the mood for this, why couldn't he just be left alone? He just wanted to live his life away from this place.
Tafari looked the cell over and then noticed the bed and walked over to it and climbed on the bed, pulled his knees up and just hugged them, burying his face into his knees as he waited, hoping this would be over soon and hopefully get back to his daughter.

The Chieftain riffled through some parchments; some old and frail, others seemed newer, less damaged. He'd pause from time to time, squint at the runes on one, then after a moment, move to the next.
The Seer sat nearby, seeming to stare out the window, enjoying the feeling of the soft breeze that wafted through. It carried scents and sounds from outside the Tree, that danced and whirled through the Chieftain's chambers, bringing peace to the tension of serious business.
Tiring of peering at runes, Rais set the parchment down and leaned back with a sigh. He reached up to rub his eyes, pausing to massage the spot between to relieve some of the growing pressure that preceded a headache. "So," he started after a moment. "What's your feeling on some of these new allies?"
Though Rais hadn't specified, the Seer turned back from the window with a smile. "I have had the pleasure of spending time with a few of the new arrivals. They seem to be settling in well, many of them already making official their new loyalty to the Tree. Of course, you know that already; you wouldn't be asking me for my opinion, when Laisidhiel herself has already shown her approval. Even of our new ally to the south, the young lady of demonic origin. She seemed more a Faun than a Demon when we spoke, I'll admit. It was...perplexing, but pleasant." Vanya chuckled, shaking her head. "Though, did you not also sense it when speaking to her?"
"I did indeed," Rais replied with a nod. "She seems as much a creature of the forest as you or I. It is somewhat reassuring to know that there are those beyond our own numbers who feel as we do. I would like to think that not all hope is lost, that peace is still possible with--what is it?" he questioned, noting that the Seer's posture had gone rigid.
Vanya frowned, wondering what had caused the sudden wave of uneasiness to pass over her form. Her ear flicked once, and she turned towards the door, drawn by the distant sounds of hooves. "I do not know, but company comes."

Rais listened gravely, nodding as appropriate as the Captain of the Rangers related his tale. This was troubling indeed. It was one thing for a Faun to choose to live away from the Tree. It was another to claim loyalty to the Tree, and yet show disrespect to his Inner Circle.
He folded his hands, leaning forward in thought, eyes closed momentarily. "You have done well, Gulliver," he finally said, opening his eyes and turning to his Captain. "Before passing sentence, I would like to speak to this individual. His instant, unprovoked defensiveness tells me that he has something to hide. Usually only the guilty behave as such. I would like to know whether he poses any threat to our people."
He turned towards Vanya. "You should come as well. Let me know if you sense anything about him that we should know."
The Seer nodded once. "Of course, Chief." She rose from her seat, waiting and following the two males as they left the room, letting Gulliver lead the way to the Root Cellar.

"I'm asking now," the Chief stepped in, voice firm and touched with contained irritation. He had just arrived and already this stranger was treating his Captain with disrespect, right before his very eyes. Either he was a complete fool, or he had some hidden reason for his arrogance.
Rais was having trouble thinking it might be the latter, but he was prepared just in case. This strange Faun had gotten himself restrained within Laisidhiel's very heart. If he had an ulterior motive, surely he would have had better sense than to spring a plan here.
"Who are you? And who do you think you are that you can claim loyalty to Laisidhiel, then disrespect my Council in the same breath?!"
Vanya stayed a step or two behind the males, though her senses were focused on the stranger in the cell. She did not think him familiar in any way, yet he greeted her and the Chief by name. This disconcerted her slightly, for some reason, though she was normally used to Faun knowing her name and her not knowing theirs. It was the nature of her position. Still, it did not fit with his behavior thus far. Was he truly a stranger? Was he perhaps even dangerous? Or perhaps...unstable instead? Afterall, she'd spent some time away from the Tree...there were berries in the woods that some should not eat... Would a healing potion be all that was needed to fix this? Or did the issue run far deeper than that?

"I told you I never wanted to do anything at the tree because I was busy finding food for my family I NEVER actually stated I would NEVER do anything for the tree, you just got me when I was busy so yes, at that time, I didn't want to do anything for the tree because I was out hunting for my daughter and granddaughter who were at home waiting." Tafari said as he nodded "and yes, I agree with that, I may have been quick to assume the wrong thing and I apologized, so, once again, I apologize for assuming the wrong thing about you and I also admit I was not the most politest of Faun so, once again, I apologize for not being more polite to you and at least introducing myself at least, it was wrong of me" he said to the other sincerely.
Tafari looked back at the Chief "Sir, it was just a bad day for me, I ended up falling out of a tree and so I was a bit brash because my idiocy for falling asleep up there was heard by your Captain when I fell, I admit it was wrong, he was only coming to see if I was OK and I overreacted, I apologize for the events that happened today" he said sincerely to his leader.

Rais frowned at the Faun called...Tafari, apparently, trying to make sense of what he was saying. He considered Gulliver's words before proceeding, though his temper was beginning to heat up. "So, you're trying to say that you are loyal to the Tree, but not to the Faun that serve it. That's not how it works."
He neared the bars of the cell, his tone steady and soft, and somehow all the more threatening as such. "We serve the Tree first, then our fellow Faun second. However, these are not exclusive. And you do not get to pick and choose which Faun you like and which you don't like. If you serve the Tree, you serve the Faun. And you serve us all or none; there is no in between. We are a family, and our lives are connected to all our brothers and sisters."
Vanya continued to feel uneasy about the Faun in the cell. His actions did not match with his words. Which then was the false? Or was he honestly so mixed up that he himself didn't know anymore? Maybe, if she focused her other senses...
Taking a deep breath in an attempt to keep himself calm, Rais stepped away from the bars and turned to rejoin the others. He noticed that the Seer had gone completely still, her sightless eyes focused on the floor, and the only thing moving was a slight twitch of her ear just now. Was she trying to read him? Had she picked up something with her otherworldly senses that they could not? He could only trust that if she picked up something that he needed to know, she would speak up. Eyes back on the stranger, he asked, "Tafari. Explain to me how you can swear loyalty in one sentence, then take it back in the next. First, you say you are a loyal, contributing member of the Tree, despite our Captain not knowing of you or your hunting in the lands near the Tree. Then, you say that you are disloyal to most within the Tree, then swear that you would lay down your life for them in the next. You say you would never do anything for the Tree and its people, but only at the time. So never only means sometimes now, does it? I guess I missed that," Rais snapped, then caught himself before he could let any more sarcasm flow.
"So, to summarize, you were in a bad mood because you fell asleep in a tree when you should have been hunting to feed your family. And you took it out on my Captain, because you woke up and realized your own mistake. That's not a legitimate reason for your disrespectful actions today. Nor an explanation for your suspiciously defensive behavior towards my Captain if all you did was fall asleep in a tree. Why should he care? Why be so angry at someone for trying to assure that you were not injured? Explain this to me." There had been too many strange situations from the Isle as of late. Rais wasn't about to overlook an oddly aggressive Faun when strange teenagers had been threatening his Seer, and his own wife had been attacked by creatures from Dragnid. The safety of all in Laisidhiel rested on his shoulders and he wasn't going to rest until he was sure that this 'Tafari' wasn't a threat to them all.

"Alright, lets put it a little clearer shall we? I don't like authority, yes it is bad but I don't but I LIKE the Faun within the tree, the Faun are NOT authority so yes I would lay down my life to protect them and the tree BUT considering you, Chief, and the others of the Inner Circle, are part of this tree as well then I, regardless if I like you all or not (and there are a select few I WILL happily listen to), will have to protect you as well and I will be willing to do so. Confusing? Yes, but that is just me. I am nothing but a Faun who moved away from The Tree because I don't like authority, yes I understand there is no in between which is why I am no longer living here and why I thought it better to be away from here then living in a place where the authority isn't exactly my favorite thing" he said as he walked back to the bed, sat down and pulled his knees up and hugged them and looked at him.
"I will tell you anything, ask and you will get whatever answers you want from me, I am not keeping anything from you and I am not being suspicious at all, i just wanted to have a little morning hunting before heading home to my daughter and her baby chick for breakfast, nothing more and nothing less, I was wrongly defensive, I admit that, I just don't like authority so yes, I was defensive against him, that is the only reason why I am defensive, nothing else. I met the Captain, part of your Inner Circle, I don't like authority so hence why I acted like I did, add on top the fact that I was caught making myself look like an idiot well..." he said as he trailed off, what more does this guy want!? He was willing to tell him everything he knew and with that Seer there it wasn't like lying would be an easy thing to do, what more could he do? " and as I already said, I apologize for being too defensive when all he wanted to do was check I was alright, what more do you want me to say!? I apologize, I will shout it from the highest branches of The Great Tree, there is nothing more I can do about that, I am sorry, how many more times do you want me to say it!?!"

"ENOUGH!
Rais' voice boomed through the small, enclosed space, and a stomp of his hoof caused the ground to shake and soil to fall from the ceiling onto the heads of the other Faun. The others would have to act quickly to keep their balance, but that was not his concern. He wanted this fool to shut up before he continued crucifying himself, and Rais was forced to take more violent action than he was already contemplating.
He slammed a hand into the wall next to the cell, causing the earth to shake once more. "I don't care if you don't like me," he sneered in a dangerously low voice. "But, my concern is for my brethren. Obviously, you do not feel the same equality as all Faun, since you don't have to follow the rules. You must be better than the rest of us. It must be nice up there on that pedestal, with no one to answer to. I don't know what we could have done to you to make you despise us all so, but don't worry. You won't have to concern yourself with your lowly brethren anymore."
He pushed off the wall, whirling and stalking away. "Vanya?" he barked at the Seer, shaking her out of her trance.
Vanya shook her head, tearing her attention away from Tafari only to be startled by the flaming red aura surrounding the Chief. She had...never seen anyone this angry before...let alone the normally stoic Chieftain. She nodded obediently, not wishing to add to his fury and gave him the information she knew he wanted. "I sense no ulterior motive. He harbors a strange hatred towards our ways, though I cannot see the source. However, he seems to only wish to be left alone, as he said."
"Then, he shall have his wish. Captain!" He turned towards Gulliver, nodding back towards the cell with a glare. "See that our friend is left alone down here, for some peace and quiet. A couple of seasons should do nicely. It will give him ample time to reflect on his attitude and superiority. And if nothing else, perhaps it will give him a legitimate reason for hating his brethren so. When that time is up, he shall be freed from this horrible, oppressive authority. I never want to see him within the Tree again, am I understood?" He waited for an acknowledging nod from Gulliver, then stalked angrily from the Cellar, the ground trembling for some time after his exit.
Vanya suppressed a shiver, the remainder of the swirling emotional storm more than a little unsettling. She laid a hand on Gulliver's arm and nodded as if to take her leave. She paused though, glancing towards the cell and the unfortunate Faun within. Should she say something? Let him know that as horrible as this sounded, he'd gotten off easy, considering the violent urges she'd felt radiating from the Chieftain towards the end of the confrontation?
No, perhaps it was best he remained in ignorance. That bit of information, she felt would be better kept to herself. She excused herself quietly from the Cellar, following Rais in her exit.
Nafretiti ((Tafari's incarceration begins now. He will be given basic food and water, but left alone the rest of the time. He may not attempt escape from his cell without permission being obtained first from the shop staff. The only way anyone will know where Tafari is at this time is if they make a specific inquiry at the Tree. They will be informed that he is safe and unharmed and will be released when time has elapsed, but will not allow him any visitors, without Rais' explicit permission. Visitors may request this permission to visit, but may want to consider Rais' state of mind and give him some time to cool down before making any requests. Tafari will be released in two seasons, which is six months, meaning he will be released on 9/30/2013. If he is RPed at all before this date, it will have to be within the confines of this cell.))
