[META ORP] JOURNEY ~ To the Desert Obelisk! [p. 16]

Singing Sands, who had mostly been wandering about with a dreary smile - how lovely the desert sounded! - turned to the group with interest once strange colors started appearing. "I don't think there's a right or wrong way to do this," he called to Jester and Unforgotten. "We can only learn new information, right?" He tilted his head. "But of course, it's up to you - "

Someone had made a suggestion, after all.

Unforgotten had heard someone call out "Someone try two blues, a green, a purple, and whatever the four-touches one would be!" So Unforgotten gave it a try... He went to the first stone tapped it until it was blue, the same for the one next to it. Then he went to the third and tapped it until it was green. The fourth, he tapped until it was purple and the fifth stone he tapped four times.

The leftmost stone in the right group glows red. All other stones do not glow.

After a minute, everything but the obelisk fades.

The Acha cheered. "Yay! Good job! We know that the last two are the same colour, now!" he reported, for everyone following along.

"But which colour?" he asked. "That's what Blue-and-Fluffy's gonna help us find out!"

Jester snaps to attention and scrambles to his feet. "Oh, oh, okay, um..." He checks the stones, and then concludes through watching what to do. He taps the middle stone, then taps the first stone farthest to the left and works toward the center stone with tapping it yellow, the next to red, the one next to last to purple, the next green, and then the last stone to red. When he's sure he got the colors right, he dashes back to the sand dog stone, and taps it again with his nose, hopeful.

The leftmost stone of the right group glows white. The next three glow red. The last one is plain.

After about a minute, only the Obelisk remains glowing.

"One's in the right place! Purple or green is the last colour! I'm guessing... Red, Red, Purple, Yellow, Purple!" The buck crowed excitedly. "Can anyone try that? Is there anyone else?"

"It's my time to shine!" Apathy said, pushing her way to the stones. Wouldn't it be perfect if she was able to get it in her first try? She batted her eyes at the nearest kin, ready to impress, and proceeded to crash onto the middle stone. Clearing her throat and righting herself, she went to the leftmost stone and changed the colors to red, red, purple, yellow, and purple, before touching the middle stone again.

For the first time, all five stones light up. The three left stones on the right side glow white; the other two glow red.

[red - red - purple - yellow - purple] --> [white, white, white, red, red]

After a minute, everything fades but the glow of the Obelisk. They've been at this for quite a while, but still for some reason the group feels as though new energy is passing through them. They must be close - surely by now they can try again.

All right! It was time to try again. This time, Sea of Butterflies decided to enter the configuration: Red, Red, Yellow, Purple, Purple!

"Oh, I think--" Breach's voice died as the doe rushed to touch the sanddog stone and then began to touch the left stones until they glowed purple, red, purple, red, yellow. Satisfied, she touched the central stone again.

"Maybe..." she breathed, quiet and hopeful, but not entirely confident.

The two leftmost stones in the right group glow white. The other three glow red.

After a minute, everything fades until it's just the Obelisk left.
