I had some Chinese food for dinner. I asked for some of the Chinese chicken noodle soup to go with my white rice and sweet-and-sour chicken (yes, this is highly redundant). My Dad, however, said that we already have plenty of canned chicken noodle soup at home. I think that eating the canned soup we've got with the takeout is just not the same.
So he came back with just the chicken and rice. Bummer.
The moral of the story is that my own Dad is apparently not the one to be trusted when it comes to ordering Chinese takeout.

Wow a male not good at getting takeout food, what is this world coming to?
But yeah I know what you mean, it just is no the same to have takeout food mixed with home prepared food. Even then chicken soup from a Chinese restaurant should taste different from plain canned chicken soup.
chances are as someones who has bills to pay he was most likely just trying to not "waste" money especailly considering what season we are in

You should he appreciative that your family can afford take out AND have more food at home. Some families have nothing. Yeah it sucks you didnt get the soup, but your dad didnt have to get the take out.
While it's true that Chinese chicken soup tastes different from the canned soup, I think you should be glad that you even got Chinese takeout in the first place. *shrugs*
I think GLJordan and Ame's words echo the rest of my thoughts pretty well.

#Firstworldproblems.
We should have a sticky somewhere (maybe the blogs) to post all our petty complaints and first world problems.
