Nero quietly breathed a sigh of relief as Chris engaged Skiverdra. Now I can find Jean before he takes us all out from a distance, he thought to himself, swinging his Bo around threateningly, feigning action in the battle. After a moment, he slams his Bo into the ground behind him and uses it to launch himself into the tree line. He took cover behind a nearby tree, wondering if anyone had noticed his sudden disappearance...

Chris used every defensive move that he knew to block most of the strikes thrown by Skiverdra. He then brought his sword behind him and swung it powerfully at Skiverdra, knocking him back again.

That's what you get for using a gardening tool for a weapon Chris thought to himself. Rage doesn't get you anywhere. You must remain calm in a battle to succeed.

"He... hey...!" Jean cried, surprised by Nero's short yet sudden appearance in the canopy, his eyes meeting the other's momentarily. Of all jumps possible he landed very close, way too close, to his current position. To top it off he was spotted. He could only smile though, as he cocked his gun and fired another round.

"Click, click, click..." was the sound from Jean's gun...

Jean froze for a short while, a stupid mistake caused by slight overconfidence in his stealth. "Damn...! I need to reload!" he scowled as he turned one-hundred eighty degrees and leaped from branch to branch again, hoping Nero nor anybody else doesn't notice his movements. He fished in his pockets for more ammunition, muttering obscenities as his hands dug from one pocket to the next.

"Damn... where are they... where are they...!" He thought out loud before his hands touched a familiar cardboard box of rounds.

The sudden appearance of Jean, and the subsequent click of his weapon, took Nero off guard. Instinctively, his arm whipped out, tossing the closest thing he had towards his opponent: his Bo. Before he realized what happened, the staff was soaring through the air like a javelin, headed directly for where he had seen Jean a moment ago...

He fumbled, adding another cartridge of tranquilizers into the gun. A whistling was heard, his eyes scanned but he was too late to react to what he saw. He watched as the bo flew through the air, hitting him in the stomach. He coughed and lost his balance, dropping back into the forest floor, the gun moving a distance away from him.

He got up and rubbed his stomach, eying the bo with apprehension. He looked around for his gun with no avail, eventually giving up with a sigh. He stood up and hid behind the trees, thinking of his next course of action.

Now it was Nero's turn to curse himself. Idiot! he thought to himself, Now I'm unarmed, with no way to deflect any of Jean's darts. If only I could get it back from the ground. As if responding to his thought, the Bo shudders on the ground for a moment before flying back up into the canopy, Nero barely reacting in time to catch it. The sudden return of his weapon made him lose his balance, and with a yelp he fell from the canopy, crashing to the forest floor and curling into a fetal position as he fought off the heightened pain while its strength was transferred to the Bo...

Skiverdra got back to his feet, his ring blazing with the infernal power he possessed. He didn't say a word as he rammed the staff end of his scythe full-force into Chris' stomach, then disarmed him with a swipe from his Scythe.
