You hear a sudden, harsh whisper-
"Did ya hear? Haven't you been paying attention?! Two student council presidents! There's gonna be a WAR!"
However, that whisper's source is nowhere to be found - hmmmm, stealthy or quick-footed perhaps? Authoritatively pacing the edge of the station was an orating gnome who was barely managing to be heard above the buzz of the crowd. He seemed to be spending most of his time waving his arms and clearing his throat.
"....which alliance do you intend to pledge your GOLDEN DRAGONS to?"

CURRENT STANDINGS
Ultimately, not long after your arrival, you find yourself directed to approach one among a group of clipboard-wielding gnomes. They appeared to be reading from a script, and were clearly very, very bored - and surprisingly sober. One of them asks you, in a dull drawl -
"Do you stand firmly on the side of the North or the South? Or are you somewhere in between?"
He indicates with a wave of a hand two identical slotted treasure chests. Students and horsemen are lined up at each, depositing large, golden coins.

Where do you currently stand in this clash for greater power?
Welcome to the Gold Dragons Standings & Pledge thread! Bored gnomes seemed to be a theme at this prom. Not that it was a problem, Kane sort of just noticed as he passed by them to drop some coins in a box. He was planning on dropping coins into both boxes because he didn't even know any of the people in the running so it was only fair (either that or he just didn't vote...), but for now he would give up just two coins to the team with the loudest potential councilman.
Hmm, well there were several coffers to make pledges but Shiki really couldn't choose. He didn't know anyone well enough to make a choice, so the kitsune did the only thing he could think of. He went and wrote down his own 'house' and put the money there. It made sense and it actually made him feel a bit giddy.
Kamakura didn't know a single soul on the council, nor had he voted as he'd been too busy with his studies. However, he had to give the one set credit for being extremely noisy... they certainly got his attention. Eyeing the golden dragon tokens he'd won while playing, he decided to at least give them one.
This is an entirely new concept but it seemed interesting. She had won some more of the golden coins from her games and she assumed it would be 'better spent' on helping a faction of ghouls and boils that, while she didn't know all that well, seemed to have some sensible ideas.

With nothing better to do, Shiki bounced over and poured the rest of his money into the house thing he had made. He smiled happily and waved once more at the gnome there. It was at least something to do with it. It looked nice to see the little pile. Maybe that was why dragons hoarded things at times. He hoarded his foxfires after all.
