I think a lot of it is to do with changes in the way people use GaiaOnline.

Forums used to be a pretty big deal, and this one was really active some years ago, with IRL meet ups and stuff like that. We were consulted by GaiaOnline when they did official events in the UK, an the Guild had a distinctive culture with a range of active daily posters and even non-UK members who just enjoyed the culture in here

Since GaiaOnline switched to more of a moneymaking model, focused on games and items rather than community and discussion, the Guilds have generally become less relevant and less active. It's unfortunate. I'm also too busy IRL these days (proper adult now, rather than school pupil, and all that) to try and push a big publicity drive to get the GBG back on the map in a big way.

I'm still friends on facebook and IRL with several of the old regulars though, so at least there's that.

Any thoughts on how to get this ship back under sail? I'm pretty open minded.

Not a bad idea at all, we could probably float it all on a thread in Chatterbox (or Friends Chat, or wherever has good traffic at the moment) with links back here, and get the ball rolling that way.

Hello!
I've just joined the guild!
I'm Italian but I happen to live in Britain (yes Im pissed off by Brexit)
So I was curious to check if there are any other real-world gaians around me, but from your conversation it seems that actually there aren't many...

With Gaia changing hands and back in management under Lanzer, now might be a good time to try and revive the GBG with whatever you two might have had in mind. As a site it really did loose a lot these past couple of years but hope springs anew.
