Seems like everyone is interested in the steam punk thing and I wouldn't mind taking a shot at that. to be honest all of your ideas sound great tho.

Apologies yamazaki sweatdrop gaia doesnt send any notifications about guilds do they.

*face palms* I'm an idiot... I completely forgot I have the power of guild announcements. I swear it's 'cause I'm new to this whole Guild Captain thing. I've been a mod on several occasions, but usually I just abuse my power to make edits to fix spelling and grammar issues lol

One announcement about the RPs coming up!

It's pretty infuriating that you don't get informed by anything that happens in the guild (unless it's an announcement) and can't subscribe to a thread yeah.

In my boredom, I have typed up a more complete summary of the Eternal Night RP.

"Every story has its beginning, so I suppose it would work best if I start there, huh?

"So ages upon ages ago, there was this vampire called Dracula. Okay, seriously, forget Bram Stroker's Dracula for a moment here, along with all those shitty movies you grew up with. This guy was serious business. Every so often since the 11th century, his castle would appear and Dracula and his minions would cause some serious chaos and carnage.

"From what they say about the guy, he was pretty pissed off at humanity and mortality. Something about his wife dying of an illness or something like that. Either way, he had a rival, a family of vampire hunters dedicated to killing him. But each time the hunters would kill this vampire, he'd come back to life after some time. Usually, it'd be a few generations before he returned, but sometimes it'd be quicker than that.

"Let's fast forward to 1999. From what I've heard from those guys from the Arcane Order, Dracula was finally destroyed for good, and his castle sealed within a solar eclipse. This sounds all fine and dandy, but Dracula had one last trick up his sleeve. One that took 13 years to deploy.

"If you did your math correctly, you would've come to the year 2012. Apparently, those Mayans were onto something when you predicted the end of the world. Dracula had left a curse on the world, one that would plunge the world into eternal darkness. Dark clouds now cover the skies, as if a permanent storm was above. And if you thought the lack of sunlight was bad, let's toss in the hordes of dark creatures. Every creepy crawly thing that ever existed came out from the hardwood - vampires, werewolves, zombies, demons, etc.

"Four short years later, almost every government has fallen. It didn't help that nuking the creatures of the night wasn't that effective. Those who did not swear allegiance with the forces of darkness have been consumed. I should mention that most who did side with the Night are dead, corrupted, and/or transformed into something else, so that's not a great option. Only a few groups stand against the creatures of the night: the Guardians of Light, the Arcane Order, and the Survivors. There are a few others out there, but that covers most of the bases.

"So welcome to Chicago, IL, the year 2016. The Vampire Lord Sammael rules the city, while a small group of Survivors (that's us) struggle to resist or at least not get themselves killed. It's not much, but it beats being dead."

- Isaac Forland, Survivor and would be writer

While I voted for my Arcanus game, in hindsight, I should opted for Eternal Night. While Arcanus is really freaking awesome, and undeniably my child of a setting/campaign, it requires a lot of work and plotting. Just setting up the PCs so that everyone is secretly going to try to murder each other is already difficult.

Meanwhile, Eternal Night is a lot easier on myself. Not as much diabolical plotting needed. Just a basic overview and people will set themselves on course. Not to mention, Castlevania was bloody awesome, Hellgate London is an unappreciated gem of a setting, and with a small touch of Fallout/Metro 2033 for good measure, we've got a fun setting full of things that will try to murder everyone. BTW, the choice of using Chicago as the setting is not set in stone.

Regardless of the final choice of what to run and what to shelve for now, I will eventually run Arcanus. Maybe not now, but down the line, I promise I will run it. I just need everyone's A-game for it, 'cause there's a lot of role-playing, action, and back-stabbing to happen. It's a pretty epic story.

Yeah, I wish Gaia would put a little more support into the guilds. And their mobile support - the app is complete crap, and it's rough to surf the site on a smart phone.

Honestly I am leaning more towards Eternal Night but thats just because I loved Hellgate London and miss it dearly. Also if it is easier on you Yama, then that's a plus at least if you ask me. I agree with you that the blend of the other influences will make it alot more fun to say the least. Would like to play something like the templar class, nothing quite like a tech knight with some magic lol.

Although if we end up going with Arcanus, a steam knight works just as well if you are cool with something along the lines of steam power armor. Why because its just cool -shrugs- wish I had some better reasoning lol. Also if you need any help with management, plotting or what not let me know I will be more then happy to help you out where I can.

I will mention at this point, I am interested in any of the rps mentions not that it helps much but I am on board for whatever we choose.

So, I got part of my new Fallout fix, so I'll be posting a bit more often again. Although I'll be obsessed with the game for a while lol

Alrighty, so I shall officially start writing up the Eternal Night RP thread in the morning. Of course there will be an OOC thread for plotting and scheming as usual.

As for anyone who also wishes to start an RP, they are welcome to do so as they wish. No forms to fill out or anything. Time to let this guide do the thing I made it for!

I'll be joining the eternal thing soon enough.

I just had probably another idea that I would of probably gotten if I was inebriated. Some roleplay that is basically a reverse pirate roleplay.

An apocalyptic, dry world where there are very few sources of water. A band of water borne folk roam the land together on some water filled vehicle(tank, car, ball, something). Pirates that steal water (or find it via locating rain), and other goodies. Rain Chasers. I feel silly
