[literally a honest-to-god dragon walks into the cafe and he seems to be a god damned weeb because his attire tries to resemble that of Greed from FMA]

"yo. i don't like coffee. it's bitter."

[no one asked for his opinion, but he feels a need to state it anyway.]

"i guess if you have cold cocoa i'll have that unless i have to pay or something,"

[he's dirt cheap too, but that's to be expected from a dragon.]

[he seems to think he's cool. he's not really, but let him have his dreams i guess. if he is determined enough, maybe someday he will reach them.]

All my hilarious bullshit aside, hi, I am often called Jim, as my amazing Skeletor-including signature would tell you if it was visible on this thread. sadly it is not, and therefore you are all missing out on a Skeletor picture, which is something to indeed be truly sad about.

I really love dragons, and I am a 22 years old artist from Slovenia. As you'd logically deduce from the last information, English isn't my first language, but I'm getting by.

I love to write and draw, and am currently in the third year of developing my own fantasy world and lore called Miladena. Most characters I might use in the future roleplays probably have something to do with this world.

I am often perceived as a jackass (which is hardly far from truth) with a dumb sense of humour that often contains quoting my favourite cartoons and video games, naming mighty god-like creatures very plain names, and getting angry over simple things.
Being easily pissed off is apparently a trademark trait of mine, according to my friends, but even then I try to get some funny into my rants.

I could probably rant about anything, and I probably have opinions about everything. I'm a loudmouth on the internet, but very anxious in real life (aren't we all)

My hobbies are watching shitty movies, drawing shitty things, and having shitty opinions on tumblr.

Also I study illustration.

"Ello, ello!", she said loudly walking through the door. Scanning the place, she finds a table by the window. And, as she heads over to it. She looks at the person behind the bar, "Would you mind making me some hot tea with honey?" She sits down at the table near the window and waits on her beverage.

---

Ello. Call me, Isabol. Or, Isa.
I've been role playing for four or five years now. It started out as something to do with online friends. Then somehow it turned into a hobby. Which, somehow got me started back on writing. I know I'm not the best when it comes to writing. But, my friends love the ideas for some of the stories I have made up. They want me to turn two into books. Just don't know though. Anyway, if y'all want to know more, just ask.

[ Yamazaki pulls out a few glasses, one of which he fills with whiskey and slides it over to Rask. He then makes up a thing of hot cocoa, quickly chills in a tumbler of ice, and pours it into a glass which he passes over to the dragon. "No charge, dragon-man. Only when I have to use proper alchemy do I charge money. Just making drinks for people is fine."

Finally, he brews some more tea, and pulls out a small plastic bottle shaped like a bear filled with honey. Yamazaki places it on a small plate and hands it over to Isa. After a few minutes, he takes a sip from his glass. "Anything else? Oh, and the liquor is for crew only, folks..." ]

Welcome, people!

I suppose it's time I introduced myself proper... *prepares for a dramatic pose, then drops it* Ah screw it. You can just click on my profile and that should be plenty. I will tell you all this - 1. I am married (which still surprises me to this day); 2. I am an undeniably avid D&D fan (3.5 and Pathfinder only, though), as well as a huge gamer and massive anime-geek. And 3. while I am the master of this guild, I run a pretty laid back ship. As long as you play nice, I won't give you crap about s**t. Also, I will happily answer any questions you may have about anything, as long as it's in my power to answer it.

I have enjoyed many a different kind of RP over the years, ranging from fantasy to sci-fi, from super-hero to post apocalyptic. Never any non-fiction sorts, 'cause I like my suspension of disbelief very much. I favor a more adventurous sort of story, with more fantasy settings than not. That said, I have a sweet tooth for steam-punk and super heroes (although I doubt the two would combine well and I'm not going to try). I do enjoy world building quite a bit, and I entertain the thought that I'm not half-bad at it.

I should also warn you all that there is a decent chance that I will go off the radar for a few days next week when Fallout 4 comes out. I'm sorry guys, but even my wife will have to suffer through that.

This may come as a surprise to many people, but I never really got into FMA, nor Attack on Titan, or many of the really popular animu's. Right now I'm keeping up with Gundam: Iron blooded orphans and one-punch man. I tend to stray away from the super popular stuff for some reason.

As for MMOs, I still have not found a replacement for City of Heroes... may it rest in peace. Although FF14 almost did.

FMA never really clicked for me. What I recommend to pretty much anyone is Gurren Lagann, which is completely over the top epic giant robot awesomeness. Or, if you want ********: Madoka Magica, which is the most ******** up magical girl anime in all eternity. Also helps that it's only 12 episodes (which is summed up in 2 movies and sequel movie that's well worth watching). Or, if anything, go watch Attack on Titan like everyone else has. Heard it was good, but I didn't get into it. But if anyone needs a good listing of anime to get into, lemme know. I have a knack for figuring out what's good and what's not (subject to taste, of course).

GW2 was pretty solid, although I'm not socialable enough to really get far in it. ESO disappointed me, as it's pretty much WoW all over again. Wildstar is cool, but I don't have the time to devote to it, while I've never looked into Blade&Soul. I haven't found a good MMO to get into in a long time. Doubt I'll ever go back to them.

Now Fallout 4... One week left.

FMAB clicked with me because it hit close to home with some of the characters (namely Greed), and I'm pretty much a sucker for any story that's about friendship, which FMAB is greatly. Didn't like FMA03 as much tho, it had like two episodes of Greed, ******** that. Also they couldn't keep up with Arakawa's amazing writing style lmao

I'm not big on anime, I'm much more into western cartoons. I watched Attack on Titan when it first came out in anime form and liked it at first but now FMAB pretty much overshadowed every show for me (except Avatar: The Last Airbender, which is my solid #2 favourite).
Attack on Titan got really weird in the manga and basically I lost most interest. I'll probably watch the series when it goes to season 2 because of the breathtaking animation, but I'm really not interested in where the story is going anymore lmao. I tried watching Madoka but I hated the art style, and being a fussy artist a show having a good art style is important to me.
I love Gurren Lagann's art style tho, and character designs so just on the basis of that I've been considering to watch it. Kill la Kill has a similar art style I think?

For some reason anime as general hadn't really 'clicked' with me, I watched a few and they left a bit of an impression maybe, but then FMAB came along and I've never been the same since. It crippled me emotionally so badly that I'm just avoiding anime altogether now lmao, I did start watching One-Punch Man tho, I expect he won't stab me in the heart.

Funny enough I'm extremely anti-social irl but i can only really play MMOs. I have a hard time enjoying single player games for some reason, they make me feel lonely and i ditch them in time, so finding a good MMO is important to me.
GW2 just got an action camera which is A+ and I'll hopefully play it again soon, I've had a fairly decent experience with ESO (got it on sale for 11€ lel) but i haven't played much yet. Wildstar is really stressing me out for some reason, but also haven't played it much yet either. (i got a bunch of new games at the end of summer so i haven't played any of them much)
B&S I expect to be my favourite, but I missed out on the first beta, i had just enough time to re-make Tim into a better looking character. And by better I mean I made him look a bit older and more average because among all the beautiful J-pop characters running around in B&S, I want to be the proud player of an average looking dude lmfao

if only my usual roleplay posts would be as long as this OOC response, wow I might talk too much

I very much do like sci-fi and futuristic rp's, I'm keen to the concepts (even in an apocolyptic sort of setting where there is still some tech here and there).

I never really want to roleplay it too often in gaia though because it requires enough creativity, yet constricting precision that some people expect others to know. You can be almost as creative as you want with magic or super hero stuff, and most people can generate an idea of what's what before it becomes too powerful. I find it difficult in a sci-fi world because we're trying to conceive scientific possibilities (almost) with imagination.

If the rp has some detailed history, a list of popular technology invented over the course of it ect. I think it'd be more popular, it would just take a lot of work to give other people (especially those not familiar with sci-fi nor watch any shows of that genre) some interest.

Some people take their infinite knowledge of of sci-fi shows ( Defiance, Firefly, Star Wars, Star Trek, WareHouse 13, Eureka, Doctor Who, Stargate, Cowboy Bebop, and maybe some good ole Twilight Zone ect. ect.) and shove it either into the rp or into their character to cram down everyone's throat. And it can be a bit of a turn off.

Though I'd be more than interested in rps where people are influenced by those shows or other games (maybe they like one or two things from it and want to build on that idea or that technology that they have?).

Which is why I usually stick to video games or table tops with science fiction, they tend to have a better idea of limits to certain tech available for each player.

Alrighty folks, I'd like to direct your attention over to the RP Planning thread. I would like to see opinions and thoughts on the suggestions that have been posed. I've made a poll for those who are a little shy to jump into the discussion. I'd like to get an RP started here by the beginning of next week. Ideally before Fallout comes out lol

[ Rastko takes a seat at the bar and without asking a drink is poured and given to him. Sticking out his hand, he catches the large glass as it slides across the table, bringing it to his noise he enjoys the fragrance before taking a sip. The liquid warms his mouth and belly, in a few moments he leans back and relaxes/ "Thanks put it on my tab" ]

Sorry for the late response I have just been a little busy over the past couple of days. There never seems to be an end to cleaning....

Death is in the details so to speak when it comes to a sci-fi rp on here because you are right it can get pretty confusing as to what can be done, cant among other things. Things also tend to go a little hay wire after certain elements are introduced, like Mind Uploading, which is one of my favorite topics to read and research about ( in about ten years we will have a computer which can simulate human brain function. Although a software emulating brain function might be a better approach ). It also changes alot of interactions and norms so the world becomes a little funkier in certain ways. Always wanted to explore a sorta of world like that but its hard to write from a perspective you can not even understand ( tends to come with augmentation and what not ).

An rp about the influence of sci-fi does sound interesting but it might be kind of hard to some degree. Assembling certain technologies might simply be improbable, once you understand some elements. However if you really want to see the effect of those shows, look at the world around you. Most of our modern world came from the sci-fi ideas of the past. From cellphones ( star trek communicators ) to pushing nano tech and other advancing fields.

I miss having an gaming group to play Eclipse Phase ( its a table top rpg, generally use it as a base for technology and other things for some rps and characters because it is detailed and offers balance, once you read through the system and what not. I can toss some links if you are curious ).

Sorry for the ramble and if I seem a little off just haven't slept more then 3 hours a night for the past month. More or less what I am writing is coming straight out of my head with little editing. I even confuse myself sometimes ( hard to explain ).

I'd like some links to it, I'm a big table top fan (I'm on the fence about buying a Dragon Age one). I'd like to get into a sci-fi table top, I've been watching these guys play Cyber Punks (it's pretty hilarious, but also good). Also been playing a table top Dead Lands where I'm a mad scientist (not as sci-fi fancy because a lot of the inventions are based on magic, the scientists are just unaware they're haunted by demons and think it's their own brilliance to making these items).

You should get some sleep, lord knows there's more cleaning tomorrow....there's always more cleaning!

[Stepping into the crowded cafe, a young anthro woman takes her first look around. Her large ears brush the doorway despite her average stature, the black, tufted ends sway slightly from their release of the frame. A single green eye glimmers in the light of the establishment, the other hidden behind long, waved tresses of crimson which fall about her shoulders with black ends. Her vulpine features were a little more muscular than most of her species, and her facial markings suggested that of a lynx. She made her way to a stool, a smile tugging at her lips as she glanced about the room.]

Hello, all. I am Red Azide. I tend towards the furry side of the realm, although I can and happily will play other roles. I'm the baby sister of another member here, although I'll let her claim me if she so chooses. In sci-fi roleplays, I like playing diplomats, rogues, and other information gathering positions which run society without a direct insertion into combat. In fantasy, I often enjoy being a gypsy rover or other forms of entertainer. When my sister runs her DnD or White Wolf campaigns, I'm often thrown into the role of interactive NPC or plot development roles as apposed to main party. On the internet, I get to be a quiet, uplifting sort as in real life I'm a firecracker, and entirely too boisterous for my own good.

[Her tail flicked up underneath her jacket to curl into her lap, hiding her thigh from exposure through her dress' long slit. She cants her head slightly, crimson lockes falling away to reveal the subtle scar extending from brow to the apple of her cheek on the left side.]

I do fight, however. I have a penchant for all things anatomically correct, and in depth detailing of the workings of the body during violence, or other such intimate occasions. After all, what is a dance without the orchestra leading it?

Welcome to the School! We should have no real problems with the furry side of things around here (up to a point - keep it clean. I don't need flashbacks from my old roommate's choice of computer wallpaper...)

Rogue-types are always fun. I usually stray away from the talky-type rogues and more for the stealthy/stabby sorts. Surprisingly enough, I'm a big Pathfinder Alchemist fan, and they're just an archetype away from being a unconventional rogue.

It's interesting to see how people write up action, especially combat. It takes a certain degree of imagination and knowledge to understand how a sword fight would actually work, and how momentum and foot work actually makes a difference.
