BFAA- Around the Manor

[Accio Alice]

Alice, a threatening aura spreading from her small upturned lips, said nothing as she listened to Inei's pleas. It was fun to make people this uncomfortable because of the different reactions it gives. Alice, however, always gets her job done, and sometimes done in very unorthodox ways. Although not everyone sees it, her actions mean well. Not that she doesn't know about it already.

The two neared a double door with Alice kicking it open and lightly shoving Inei in the room. She closed the door before the other could escape. An expression of indifference masks Alice's amusement, but her eyes showed excitement at the prospect of having to dress her friend up. "What colour would you prefer, Inei?" the short brunette asked, opening the grand closet to reveal an assortment of dresses ranging from simple to excessively decorated ones. "Take your clothes off and wipe the vampire blood out of your skin. Hurry, I still have a job outside of the manor," With sweeping hand gestures, Alice stood by the closet door to watch, in hidden amusement, the inner conflict reflected by her friend's eyes.

Cel burst into the manor kitchen, gasping for air.

One of these days...I'm going to....have to....learn that darn.....teleportation gem sequence. This running...is for the birds.

*collapses in a chair*

*Kagura check's over her list of food for the party and finishes arranging them to perfection* There everything is arranged to perfection now to finish the centerpiece of the party *she turns to put the final touches on the 10 layer cake for the ball*

*still half out of it from running all over the mansion*

*weakly*Hey Kags. What's cookin'? Seems like the food end of things is under control. If only all the other hundred little details were as easy to conquer.

*stares at the floor in a daze*

Caelen passes by Chef's security room on the way to check on the lighting arrangement. The resident Jedi Master is giving his team the security rundown for the bash that is to start in less than an hour. Cae pops his head in briefly.

Pardon the intrusion. I know you are busy. Just wanted to say if you need my assistance for anything, I'll be prepping the billiards room.

*shivers* R-rawr...Alice is scary rawr. Agreed. Though, you kind of do have nothing for the ball. Rawr! Just pick something! Wait, I just talked to myself rawr? Ahhhh, what does it matter when you're a ghost? These things-ah dang! I should say something! Hm...White is my favourite color! Or shade, rawr. Anyways I can probably use my ghost powers, and the blood should disappear right about now. I'm not quite knowledgeable on formal events and all that, hehe... *blood vanishes* Did I just...? Yeah, you did. I think that blood's in your stomach now. Blegh, serious? Do we ghosts even have stomachs? I hope Alice can't read minds. Or ghost minds, for that matter.  

[MasturChef]

Chef just finished briefing his team right as someone popped in. "Hm? Oh, Caelen! No worries, I was just wrapping things up. I'll be sure to contact you if I need anything." Satisfied that everything was in order, he started toward the door. The agents gave him a puzzled look; they were expecting him to monitor the event from the security room. "Don't worry, I'm not going anywhere! If you guys start to miss me, I'll still be on the line," Chef assured as he walked out the door. "I got a dance to go to," he continued over comm network. "As most of you know, I can't stand these things, but since the BFAA's hosting this one I don't have much of a choice. I can't just not show up to an event we're hosting, especially one like this. Why do you think I'm in the monkey suit?"

*turn's around from the cake at the voice and see's a exhausted looking cel* Oh dear you look...... well terrible here sit down and have some tea and some treats that weren't quite up to my appearance standards for the party. *begins to pour some tea and grabs some treats.*

Cel nods gratefully at the offer of tea and a quick snack.

Thanks Kags. I tell ya, if my head wasn't attached I might very well lose it. People will be showing up in thirty minutes, I'm not dressed yet, we still have all the refreshments to set out, and I just got off the phone about half an hour ago with the manager of the band that was supposed to be providing the music. They got an offer for a "bigger gig" two weeks ago and didn't bother to call us to cancel until just today. Now we don't have any live music.

Cel was frustrated. Big plans had a habit of falling apart at the last minute when BFAA was in charge. That is not to say that Bartobs were terrible planners or hosts, they just had really rotten luck some times.

I just don't know what to do. I suppose we can just play some records or something, but that really takes all the fun out of a prom. I wouldn't have even minded so much if the band had called as soon as they had taken the other offer, but seriously? Canceling the day of an event when they knew in advance? What ever happened to courtesy?

Cel huffed and sipped her tea rather noisily. The teacup empty, she slammed the poor cup back onto the saucer, causing it to make a worryingly loud ping.

Alice covered a small smile behind a hand and started to dig into the closet full of colour-coded dresses. She let the ghostly girl clean herself up, picking out three white dresses for her friend to choose from. Hanging all three on separate hooks, the brunette stepped out of the way The first strapless dress appeared to have snowy white feathers descending down the skirt, splitting below the hip level and has wings pinning the centre back. The second dress of an Oxford white colour, another strapless, spirals around from the breast line to form a billowy skirt that stops right below the knees, and has silvery lines decorate the hems of the skirt. The last dress, this time with straps supposed to circle the neck for leverage, has a black ribbon adorning the waist and a feathery underskirt to complete its swan-like appearance. The dress has feathers on one of the straps keeping the dress up and it stops a little above the centre thigh.

Alice looked to Inei with a smile, knowing that the girl would choose from one of the dresses and that she would be able to choose her own shoes and accessories. "Now that you have choices, feel free to try them on. If you don't like them, there's more in the closet to pick from," she said, turning around to leave the room, "as for me, I have to go and check on the florist in charge of the arrangement and then help as a runner," With a small wave, Alice left the room.

*smiles, then goes to pick* Hmmm, which one? I like the first one...wait, second one! IT'S SO DIFFICULT TO PICK! Well, you COULD go and try them on. I should really stop talking to myself. *tries on the first dress* Hm...I think this one wouldn't go too well with the stuff you have, Inei. Though I do like it. Next! *wears second dress* It's very comfy...and I do like the design, but..hmm... Let's see the next one! *tries on third dress* Psst! Inei! ....what? You look surprisingly good in this one. Really now? Next course of action; we steal some pretty looking sleeves from Misaki. Nope, not doing that. If I were Misaki, what would she know about formal wear? Oh! I know! *begins to think, picking out shoes*

*Sips her tea and glares at Cel for slamming her set around* Ah no wonder you look so spent try not to take it out on my china if you please *sips some more* well don't worry about those refreshments Cel when it comes to setting them up for a party, I'm all over it as soon as were done here. Perhaps another member has the means to provide or a clue to live entertainment? And well Alice could always help you get dressed if your desperate for time. *Puts down her tea and begins to get things moved around for transportation*

Brunak shuffled down the main hall in a moving box with a small slot opened for vision and a mild amount of comedy in his apparent attire. Periodically pulling to the side of the hallways and stopping for a short rest. The rather outwardly shy gaian often avoided events but has decided to attend for once and hoped to perhaps attend again next year. oh dear, i think im late. well it was quite the walk from durem but alas there's always next time i suppose.

Note: Switching to third person rawr. I think I'll be more comfortable with that.
Inei scanned the shoes she picked, thinking as she levitated off the floor. "Hmm...I suppose I'll go with heels. I don't really need to walk, do I? Wait; now that I think about it I might scare some people...I should walk like a normal person." She slipped on some powder blue leggings, and fit her small feet into the shoes. "Hmm...My hair's not going to do either. I should braid it or something..." And with that, Inei carefully weaved her hair into two braids, smoothing it out with a comb. "I think I'm done! Or maybe I should wear some sleeves with that too." Inei lazily slid the sleeves up her arms, and checked herself out in the mirror one last time. This'll look great! she thought, grabbing a black umbrella with stars on it. "Will I even use this? I'll just keep it around with me if I'm not. How do I warp quickly...oh! Null chamber! Should've thought of that earlier." Little did she know, it was NOT the best idea.

Cel looked up, a bit timid but thoruoghly remorseful at having been so careless with the good china. Giving her closest friend a sheepish grin of guilt, Cel stood up and took her cup and saucer over to the sink.

Sorry about that. I'm not usually one to be so aggressive when frustrated. Lord knows, the tea set doesn't deserve my wrath.

Taking in a deep breath, the Crystalmancer centered her emotions just as the high priest at the Temple of Light had taught her. The methodical, calming breaths made the anxiety dissipate. Now that she was feeling much more relaxed, the old "go get em" Cel was back.

Right then. I know you are perfectly capable of handling the food situation, so I'll just stop worrying about that. I had better go and get ready. I'm not quite desperate enough to ask Alice to help me with my wardrobe. *shudder* I'll see who I run into on the way and maybe they will have a suggestion on the music situation, just as you said.

Giving her friend a confident nod, Cel strode out of the manor kitchen and headed upstairs to get ready for the prom. With only 30 minutes to go until the event was to start, she was pulling a Rinse'n Dry crystal out of her utility belt as she walked. On her way across the grand hall, she passed a box that seemed to be moving of it's own accord.
