Valvatorez HP:
25/25

"Oh the Skarmory is fine for the most part, if a tad unique in his combat choices for a Pokemon" Raven said rather casually gesturing with a hand "Although the Cacnea has something of an attitude" He added with a roll of his eyes before turning his attention back to the battle "Valvatorez latch on and twist, then Poison Sting!" He ordered, seeing exactly how they could make use of the Turtwig's own attack against it. He'd made contact, but underestimated the solidity of the Gligar's own shell!

Pincers opening briefly the Gligar would reach out to grasp the edges of his opponent's shell, using the aid catching under his arms and his weight to twist them mid-air before lashing out once more with that poisonous barb of his ">There is no help in this world. Only darkness. Life is despair, our own personal hell wrought of disappointment and pain<" Valvatorez said darkly while he was face to face with the Grass-Type.

"The only one that matches your description would be Fable...as for how I survived this long though. I said they were insane, not weak" Raven said, looking to Lieutenant Rose once more.

West himself was born upon the fair grounds during the Hunter's Tournament. Ironically this event took place in front of the Whack-A-Diglett stand, where upon his release into the world the Riolu promptly cracked his skull upon the pavement after Raven had tried to untangle the Fighting-Type from his cloak. This event is blamed by most for the Riolu's somewhat odd personality, that of an old west gun-slinger, accompanied by numerous but unfounded claims of being the Fastest Paws in the West.
Shortly after his hatching, an old cowboy hat floating upon the breeze landed upon the Riolu's head. Both boy and Pokemon took this as a sign of the Riolu's future, and thus he was dubbed West. The Wild West.

Pokemon: Gligar [M]
Name & Level: Valvatorez, Lv 6

Bio: The story of Valvatorez is a short yet dark tale. His past otherwise unknown by his trainer, Raven discovered Valvatorez in a tunnel while following a set of train tracks back towards the city. Valvatorez however was not alone, accompanied by his apparent mate a female Sandshrew. Both Ground-Type's fought fiercely, but the Sandshrew was eventually, and somewhat gruesomely slain through the efforts of Genn and Diabound. Watching his love die before his eyes sent the young Gligar in to a rage, but victory was not to be his. Liking the fight he saw in the creature, and seeing the advantage of the Pokemon's Typing, Raven chose to capture the Valvatorez, eliminating any hope the creature had of revenge. Since his capture Valvatorez has a state of severe depression, bring about somewhat suicidal tendencies, though even that is consistently denied to him. At present all the world is blackness and despair to the Gligar, his meaning for living not but a bleak shadow of it's former self waiting for the light of hope.

"I don't mean survive the world as much as survive each other. I know for a fact, that some of the craziest creature can be mad strong, but their own survival instinct tends to be ...dismal at best."

She would point towards the Gligar as the Turtwig saw an opening in the weakness of the attack. He would try and charge his way though as he throws his weight forward as the Gligar latches to try and throw. If he can sweep the pokemon up in his charge ...he would literally aim his tackle downwards to use the momentum to hurl flatten the pokemon into the earth beneath him.

It was another take on a tackle.

"Insanity has it uses."

Valvatorez HP:
25/25

"So does outright resilience" Raven said as he looked back to the battle. Valvatorez would strike the ground with a heavy thud, but as the Ground-type rolled it would be clear even at a glance the Turtwig had failed to do much in the way of harm.

From there the Gligar would use their shift in momentum to disengage, actually kicking off the Turtwig mid-roll to get back into the air and glide for a short distance. Being so low to the ground wasn't much use for hunting or defense, but it gave him a head start as he moved to more rumble, clinging to the sides of scrambling up before taking off from a higher vantage point. ">The weight of a body can never match the weight of my sorrow...<"

"...As for survival instinct..." Raven commented, turning his attention back to the Lieutenant "...that would probably be the Steelix. On more than one occasion he has gone sailing over a cliff for no particularly valid reason." Well that was mostly true, the first time Genn had been an Onix and they'd sort of had a reason he supposed. The second time around however he'd landed in a tree. That fact the Steelix pretty much viewed himself as indestructible was clear.

Turtwig HP: 8/26 ( -2 due to poison)

The Turtwig wobbled as the Gligar used his poor, abused body as a kickstand. Of all the... if he came out of this battle alive, he'd have a healthy hatred of human trainers and their pathetic little lapdogs. Lapbats. The point remained. With great effort (for the poison still coursed through his veins), he lurched forward at Valvatorez in a clumsy but no less passionate tackle.

With an aerial advantage on his side this time the Gligar would remain out of reach of the Turtwig's assault, if only by a leaf. Twisting about the Gligar seemed as though he were going to crash into the ground, but rightening himself after a few moments he would make a beeline for the Turtwig, waiting only for the command.

"Poison Sting" Raven stated calmly.

And there it was, the command to transfer the poison and sorrow flowing through his veins into another once more. Lashing out with his barb from above like a proper predator the Gligar sought to make the Turtwig's position that much worse.

Turtwig HP: 6/26 ( -2 due to poison)

The Turtwig lurched to halt, crashing into the rubble in an ungainly manner. He glared up at the Gligar, panting furiously. This traitorous, moronic... what was he supposed to do? All the odds stacked firmly against him. So he did the first thing that came to mind-- and it was, admittedly, a bit childish. He curled up into a ball, and attempted to roll away. If the momentum didn't protect him, perhaps his hardy shell would?

Chance would have it that the Turtwig's actions would place him just out of reach, thew Gligar's stinger digging into the ground mere centimeters from the body of the Grass-type. Rather than landing over the Gligar would use this opportunity to land on his upright tail, managing to leap back into the air with a little luck and a stuff breeze. The Turtwig was just delaying the inevitably after all. It's fate had already been sealed some time ago...

Turtwig HP: 4/26 ( -2 due to poison)

He felt himself getting weaker and weaker-- even if the Gligar had missed it's attack, the foolish creature still left it's mark on the Turtwig. With whatever energy he had left, he lurched forward, forcing himself into another Tackle. The fight was grim, no doubt, and there was practically no chance of success... indeed, there was a far great likelihood that he wouldn't live to see his next battle. But the Turtwig was still here, and thus, he would fight.

[FUMBLE! -1 TO ATTACK ROLLS]

Battle could be a grim thing at times, war even more so. IT wasn't the elegant, deliberate, and refined thing one learned with the average noble's sword instructor. Truly few of the 'upper-crust' had ever bloodied their blades. Those that had tended to have done so rarely, believing that only the end of the battle mattered, anything in the beginning could be overcome like some great hero out of fiction. In war there were no heroes. A single slip up in the beginning of a fight could easily lead to an ending you cannot prevent....the Turtwig was experiencing that right now.

"Valvatorez! Lets see about ending this now. Poison Sting!" Raven commanded firmly, eyes narrowing on the Grass-type. This had gone on far too long already.

Webbed wings spread wide, the Gligar lashed with his tail and dipped to one side, taking advantage of a sudden breeze and sending himself higher into the air. ">Death from above to send you bellow...almost poetic in a way; but only one of us may receive the soil's sweet embrace<" The Flying-type stated darkly, his voice lacking in emotion as he dipped towards the ground sharply. Closing his wings the Gligar would wrap his arms around himself, beginning to corkscrew as he briefly closed his eyes. When those orbs opened once more to the world so too would his arms, abruptly slowing his descent as his tail swung forward with the momentum. If that struck the Turtwig it would be more than the pumping poison that would do him in!

Turtwig HP: 2/26 ( -2 due to poison)

So this was the end? The Turtwig's thought were only for that of the boy; the Gligar's bathos-laden speech wasn't enough to move him physically or emotionally. No, the Gligar was a pawn-- the trainer was the root of the problem. If he had been more sensible, he would have quit this battle a long time ago. Instead, he dug his heels into the ground, and launched upwards to meet the Gligar's assault with his own Tackle. It was insane, suicidal, whatever you might want to call it-- but it was how we was going out. And if it did kill him? At least he wouldn't have to deal with any more trainers or Pokemon like this.

The Turtwig would find his tactic however falling rather flat; unfortunately the Gligar in this equation would fare little better. Certainly he'd hit his mark, but merely hitting wouldn't get him through the reptiles tough shell.

Heedless of this however Raven would call out "Valvatorez stand down! This fight is over." IT was true, whether the beast cared to continue or not his body wouldn't be able to keep going with the poison still running through his veins.

Stand down?! Had the Turtwig's vision not been clouded, he would have been seeing red. This brat wouldn't even complete the battle he'd set out to? Death by poison was the method of a trickster and a cheat-- so perhaps it fit the youth better than he would have thought. Adernaline course through his veins as the Turtwig forced himself a couple steps forward...

Turtwig HP: 0/26 ( -2 due to poison)

... only to faint. The creature crashed into the dust, still alive, but worse for the where. Well, that was a hell of a thing.
