"If you try to hurt my friends..."
When Mizuharu first went to grab some pins for the ceremony he felt another hand touch his. The hand was quickly drawn back, and when he looked up to see who pulled their hand away so quickly he saw Ren blushing and biting her lip. Of course... he thought warmly as he smiled to her in the same fashion. He grabbed some pins for himself and walked to his spot to let her get some too.
As the students lined up at each different volunteer, Mizuharu could sense everyone around doing as instructed. He chuckled a little to himself, glad that everything was going smoothly. Whenever a student approached him he would greet them kindly, shaking some students' hands, bowing to others, while pinning the welcome pin to the fronts of their uniforms. Many times he would also give them words of encouragement or helpful advice where he felt it might be needed.
At a time he felt that Yoshiko had finished and started reading nearby, and since he knew she wasn't very used to this kind of thing he decided to let her off. He could also feel that Shiroyasha had finished handing out pins, and decided against confronting her as well, mostly in hope to not cause a scene in the middle of the ceremony in front of the freshmen. He also wanted their two groups to not be on bad terms since the Disciplinary Committee was getting a new Captain that year, and he wanted the fragile relationship between the two groups to not crumble before classes even began.
As he looked around he sensed the next student approach. When he looked down at her with his usual smile, he suddenly felt something dangerously familiar about the girl. He knew he hadn't met the girl before, but the aura that she emanated was dangerously close to that of... But no, she couldn't be could she?... Apparently he had been staring intently at her, for she asked if she had done something wrong. He shook his head to clear it for a second and brought his attention back to the conversation.
"Welcome to the academy..." he said to her a little absently as he shook her hand. Her grip was surprisingly firm, especially considering what he assumed was her true nature. He then held up the last of his ribbons and leaned forward to pin it to her blazer.
"I would keep my head down and out of the limelight if I were you... This place is very dangerous for someone like you," he whispered in her ears just as he finished with her pin. He then stood up straight and said at a more normal voice level "Make sure to keep up with the homework and don't fall behind!" As he said this heartily as pretty much a cover for the real advice he gave her, he put his left hand on her right should firmly and encouragingly with a kind smile on his face.
Out of the corner of his eyes he saw Ren jump back a little from a student and heard her raise her voice slightly out of surprise, which he thought was weird since she only usually acted like that around him. When he looked over at them he saw the freshman looking a little bummed. He overheard her say she was sorry and watched as he shook it off confidently saying how it made sense and that he would try hard for them to get to know each other better. Thinking that all of this was strange, he was curious to know what had happened. In all honesty he could probably take a fairly accurate guess as to the situation, but he still decided that Ren might need some support anyway.
"Please excuse me," he said to the freshman girl he had just given his last pin to whether she was still standing there or not and walked over to stand beside Ren just as the boy was walking away. He waited for her to turn to look at him again as he figured she would before saying "So what was that all about Fae? What did that freshman say to make you so flustered?" When he spoke, it was kindly but also worriedly, wanting to make sure the boy hadn't embarrassed her. If the boy had been rude to her in any way then he would make him wish that he had never caught a glimpse of her face.
"...I'll deal with you personally!"

[2]"You know, you really shouldn't piss me off..."
When all the upperclassmen left the stage and went to their posts, Akantha stood up and looked around at them. She didn't want to line up at the line of that unnaturally over-enthusiastic guy as he seemed like a bit of a weirdo, and she just got annoyed about how much all the student swooned over the three girls that had volunteered, so she chose to line up in the small line in front of the last guy who, for some reason, had a red arm and some yellow bird-looking thing flying around him.
Her first impression of the guy was that he was a lazy slacker, so she thought that he was probably a little out of place here. Either way, he didn't attract as much attention as the others did so he seemed okay for now. She just hoped that he didn't instantly make the very big mistake of pissing her off. Still, his appearance alone seemed pretty interesting, so she hoped she might not be completely bored by him.
When it was her turn to receive a pin from him she walked up casually, he uniform worn loose and her blazer not even buttoned up and said "Yo" with her hand raised up in a casual greeting and the same spacey, bored look on her face.
"...If I had sweets then I guess it wouldn't be so boring."[1]
"...but if you do piss me off, then you better watch out!"[2]

 ~Senritsu Yōsei~
As the ceremony went on, Senritsu watched quietly in her seat. She frowned when she heard another girl be rude to her new friend, but was glad that no other problems started. As all her classmates and senpai introduced themselves, Senritsu smiled at all the freshmens' reactions to them. When she looked back on it, she did have a pretty amazing set of classmates. "They sure are amazing, especially for being able to volunteer for all this," she whispered to herself. She wondered who Suzuka-chan would line up in front of, and what advice they would give her.
When she saw her walk away from the senpai that had organized everything with a frowning face, it made Senritsu worry about her. She approached her after watching her lean up against a wall and leaned forward with a concerned look on her face. "Is there something wrong Suzuka-chan? You look upset..." she asked worriedly, hoping she was okay. |
