Soon, and without much of an effort, the redhead was immersed in the tale of Death the kid's trial through the book of eibon, along with the rest of spartoi among other friends.
The book could be thrilling, exciting, enraging.. just as if you were to lock yourself with madness and choose what sort of madness should dispose of you.
Of course that was just a way of seeing things. There was much she couldn't understand, her poor soul perception made her get around 60% of what was actually happening, If it wasn't for Patchouli's accurate description as the tale was told, she would probably fail to understand around 90-98% of the whole story.
Melani had catalogued Madness itself as a disease, but only from what she har read on in books. But, having actual experience with madness was a mystery to her. Just as if she walked blindfold unable to tell just how many times she had being subdued by madness which affected her perception and personality.
She could get the essence of the story, or more likely the idea of Spartoi's efforts to rescue Kid from the book. But nothing more beyond the obvious point of Spartoi's mission.
Despite being dedicated to her studies, her practical knowledge or awareness of madness was actually quite poor.
"That...was... interesting. I didn't knew a book could be that much of a problem."
She replied, concerned to a degree, more likely because of her lack of comprehension around the matter, but the fact that a replica of sad book was standing just in front of her made her shiver as well.
"Yes? What is it? Is dinner ready? "
She answered back at the monk using her mind, but communication with Illo was difficult because of her lack of concentration at the moment. It was just as if her mind was broken and scattered over the library.
In between lines with Naraiki, there was another conversation going on. Focus Melani... You're thinking of nothing but books. Naraiki is having us tour because he is not ready yet. Learn all you can about the kishins while you can.
Illo could only get a rough feel of the room Melani was in as his powers were, but the thoughts about the Book of Eibon were helpful clues. He'd only been briefed on the subject once, and since had not heard of the man or his writings. The monk was interested to hear more of this, but most intrigued by the way in which the help was carrying out their tasks. It would seem that the goal was dual fold in that there was stalling for Naraiki and a spread out tour of the mansion. Naraiki must have wanted the two to see as much of the manor as they could before sunset. Could that be why Izayoi kept chasing the sun away with his time warp?
After an extensive tour, the mystic-ballistic duo finally began their training. The sun was finally allowed to set for real, and the thundere finally rediscovered the comfort of a bed lost for over a month.
The monk was so excited, staring up at the ceiling that night thinking. Thinking of how good it felt to have sparring partners like the house help; thinking of just how far he could go and the friends that would join him on that journey; thinking of what his master had taught him, and how long ago that seemed. He could hardly get to sleep, despite how tired he was.
Excitement isn't the only thing that keep a man up, though, and as Illo knew there was often a healthy dose of worry that came with every excitement. He worried: how was he going to defeat Abel? What was the presence he sensed in the cave? Why did Melani's feel like what he sensed in the arena against Carmen?
But, as another inevitability, Illo eventually drifted off to sleep. And the next day he awoke to find the thoughts had stuck to the pillow, a knew day calling the pair forth.
They made their way out, albeit a little slowly; one last breakfast, one last broken vase, and one last goodbye. There they were by the gate, but on the more adventurous side.
Well, that was nice, wasn't it? We should make this a regular stop, eh Melani?Illo turned to wave goodbye to Naraiki and the help, and then it would be back to the trip.
{Ok, so I think it would make more sense for Melani to make the move for them to set up shop. Cause Illo is a little too good at this nomad stuff to care. lol) {EXIT}

After regaining some intense workout and a heavenly bed, Melani was refreshed and more than grateful to Nariaki because of his welcome and attention towards them. "Thank you Nariaki sama we'll visit you more often you'll see."
She waved at the distance between the duo's figures would be lost. [exit]
