Nightingale Opera House

Dia lurched out for Myka and grabbed her by the chin. "Dear girl, he gave up Heaven for her. Eternal happiness. What has he given up for you?" She looked down at her stomach, still as bored. "You have two children and none of them are his." she noted in monotone.

She gritted her teeth, glaring at the woman. "One's from before him, and the other's from rape, and yet he's still willing to adopt them both. Tell me that's not love."

"It is not love," she said in monotone. "It is pity." She glanced over the balcony to see the curtain rise for the next act. "He was an orphan himself at one point, Ms. Brennan, why would he wish the same fate on others?"

Myka followed her gaze, tears springing to her eyes."I'll be back before the intermission's over..."Her whole body grew cold and began to tremble as she yanked herself from Dia's grip. "That b*****d..." she whispered, looking down. "He lied to me."
"Wait, Myka, come on," pleaded Trayl as she shook Myka's shoulders. "Damian's in love with you, not Lena. You know that. Don't listen to her."
"But she's right," she said. "He's with her, I know he is. I can't do this anymore, Trayl. It's over, the engagement is off!" Pulling her ring off, she set in Trayl's hand and reached for Arwen, holding her so that the little girl's head was resting on Myka's shoulder.
"Myka, don't do this!" the Rider begged.
"I'll be at my dorm. Tell Alonna to bring me Arwen's clothes later. Goodbye Trayl." With that, she turned and left, refusing to let the tears fall.
Turning to Dia, Trayl clenched her fists. "Are you happy now, you sadistic b***h?"

"No," Dia sighed as she watched the girl leave. "Because she has yet to know that she is lying to herself." she said and glanced at the Rider then vanished in wisps of black smoke, pursuing Myka.

Grabbing Myka's phone that she'd left under the chair, Trayl hurriedly found Damian's number and pushed CALL. It took a few tries, but the second he finally picked up, she practically screeched into the phone. "Damian! You've got to get back to the Opera House! It's about Myka!"

Damian had reached the Opera House just as his phone rang. Before he could even greet the collar he heard the panicky voice and felt his heart stop. His wings unfolded and again he turned into a blur, dashing through the halls and spiraling up the staircases, he got to the balcony within a second or two. "What's wrong?" he panted and looked around, seeing only Trayl.

She held out her shaking hand, opening it to reveal Myka's engagement ring. "It was Dia. She came here and got inside Myka's head, telling her all this crap about you still being in love with Lena. Myka couldn't handle it, so she gave me this, said the engagement was over, and left with Arwen." Stopping to take a shaky breath, she swallowed. "Damian, I think she's going back to Ireland. She never would've asked for Arwen's things for any other reason."

Damian stared at the engagement ring for a long time, he barely heard what Trayl said. He slowly slumped towards her and took the ring in his hands, staring at the diamond for the longest time. "I can't believe it..." he muttered, his words lost in the applause of the audience as another act ended. "I.... I won't believe it." he said. He closed his fist on the ring and looked out. "I'm going to go find her, even if I have to fly to Ireland!" he said and ran out.

Saying nothing, Trayl slumped into her seat, praying that he'd catch Myka in time.

Melody walked into the opera house and ignored the other peopl not really noticing them.She got into her seat and waited for the opera to begin surprised she actually decided to come.

In this world, one cannot say anything without proof to back them up.

Fredrich stepped out of his car and gazed up at the opera house. He looked at the lights and the flashing signs and posters advertising what was about to start then moved to the other side of the car and opened the door for Ellery. "Looks like we've made it just in time." he noted and held a gloved hand out for him to take.

Without proof, you'll never catch me.

"Oh, good!" Ellery reached up to take Fredrich's hand, stepping out of the car and standing upright. "I think we're right up front, so we should be able to face all the 'gore'. Oh, it's exciting!" The brightly smiling male started to tug the much larger one into the building. "Ooh, I hope they do Julius Caesar. That's one of my favorites."

In this world, one cannot say anything without proof to back them up.

"Shouldn't you already know since you bought the tickets?" Fredrich chuckled while walking towards the building. Inside was a magnificent mixture of gold, red, and maroon. The chandeliers were enormous and the staircases elegantly curved over the lounge and back to the next floor. There were some tables that sold merchandise about the performance, but Fredrich wouldn't be buying anything unless Ellery begged him for something. They reached entrance to the chairs, and the tall detective handed the tickets to the employee. Because of how big the opera house was, it took a minute or two for them to reach their seats. Fortunately, the performance had yet to begin and there were still plenty of people looking for their seats.

"Well, I can't know everything, can I?" he said, chuckling. When they finally reached their seats, Ellery bounced into it and clapped his hands excitedly. "Oh, I'm excited! I love this show so much. I just really hope that things don't go as rocky as they could." Looking up at Fredrich, the brunette crossed his legs and leaned back. "Hey. Why did you want to go with me and not someone else?"
