Strangely enough, it really didn't make him feel much better. Attempting a smile, he laughed. "I don't know, Grigori. I mean, I think I've been competing with your memory ever since Nikolai and I first met. It feels like only recently that he's finally let you go and let me in. At any rate, i'm still happy you came. It's always great to see a familiar face. I should go check on Aysun and Nikolai. They've been gone a while." Handing his glass to an attendant, he smiled kindly and nodded to Grigori, then turned and started for the dressing room where Nikolai and Aysun had disappeared into.

Seeing his enthusiasm not shared, Grigori blinked and watched the man of the hour walk away. He turned to Anthony. "I wonder if it was something I said?" he pondered aloud. "Boy, wedding's sure are weird, huh?"

The two were still in the bathroom. Aysun looked down with a shameful look on her face, Nikolai leaning against the wall across from her, his arms crossed. He absorbed everything, having listened to Aysun's explanation. The question, however, was how Leon would react.
As if on cue, Nikolai noticed his dashing husband walk towards them. "Mmm, you've good timing." the Sin said and straightened up. "I've come across a very interesting secret of Aysun dear's... although I'm not sure if this is the best place and time to reveal it."

Anthony shrugged. "I guess it doesn't help that you're the former love of his new husband's life and you're here, as perfect as ever. I mean, about half the people here were too busy staring at you to even take note of Leon. It's gotta be hard for him, at least a little." Drinking more of his champagne, Anthony moved his shoulders a little, then gestured to the dance area. "Hey, I kinda wanna dance. You up to joining me out there?" he asked.

The man blinked twice in confusion, then looked from Nikolai to Aysun. "What's wrong?" he asked, moving over to Aysun and kneeling down in front of her, looking her over to check that she wasn't hurt or anything like that. "What is it? A secret?"

Grigori laughed. "You're giving me way too much credit!" He looked at the dance area afterwards then shook his head. "Umm... Naw, it's okay. I'm not a dancer. Don't let me keep you, though." he said and motioned for the smaller man to go have fun.

Aysun frowned and moved to hide behind Nikolai's legs, for once preferring the lazy Sin to Leon. Nikolai glanced down at her then at Leon. "You'd love Aysun darling no matter what happened, yes?"

Nodding, Anthony started over to the dance floor. "Well, at least I've better than him at something." Anthony muttered to himself before grabbing a random woman and starting to dance with her.

He stood upright, looking at the two with concern in his eyes. "Of course I would. There's nothing that could make me love her less." He answered, this line of questioning making him even more confused by the second.

"Even if "she" happened to be a "he"?" asked Nikolai with a raised eyebrow. Aysun didn't move from her spot.

Leon froze, his eyes on Nikolai's face, half-hoping that he was kidding. A he? Was Aysun... "It just might make me love Aysun even more." He answered truthfully, kneeling down again and looking Aysun in the eyes. "Aysun... Aysun, are you a boy?" he asked, prodding carefully.

Aysun was quiet for a moment then looked down and gave the shortest of nods. Even if Leon said he was okay with her being a guy, she wasn't convinced, and still felt scared about his reaction.

"Oh, Aysun." Leon moved closer, reaching for her small hand and holding it in his large one. He spoke very carefully and fairly quietly, making sure to keep a sweet smile on his face the entire time. "You could be a frog, or a goat, or a monkey, and you'd still be perfect in my eyes. I love you, sweetheart. This doesn't change a single thing."

She - Or now revealed to be he - hesitantly looked up at Leon. "Y-You don't think I'm weird or gross?" he asked with a soft whimper.

He shook his head. "No, Aysun. Boy or girl, you're still the best kid anyone could ever ask to be in their care. You are precious and perfect in my eyes. Nothing will ever change that." He reached out both of his arms, inviting Aysun in for a hug.

Aysun hesitated for a second then wrapped his tiny arms around his uncle and hugged him as tightly as he could. He wasn't used to feeling relief, and there was a strong wave of it washing down on him like a waterfall. He felt lucky and happy, having uncles that would love him for who he was and the things he did.

Later on Aysun ran out of the bathroom, giggling and ready to run around and have fun. Nikolai walked out and stood at the end of the bathroom, watching the child play. "Mmm, he said he dressed as a girl because he was afraid of being bullied like his siblings were." he explained as he crossed his arms.

Leon stood beside Nikolai, tucking his hands into his pockets and watching the little boy laugh and play. "It makes sense. Besides, he has more elder sisters than brothers. The girls' hand-me-downs probably fit him much better than the boy ones. Still though, I can't believe he didn't want to tell us. We're more his parents than his actual parents." Shaking his head, he looked to Nikolai and smiled at him. "Look at you, bonding with a kid. Who woulda guessed it, Nikolai? Marriage looks good as hell on you."

Nikolai looked at Leon and gave him a disgusted expression. "Dear me, you're making me sound so responsible. Stop that." he said and lightly slapped his husband's shoulder. He then grinned at him. "You're enjoying that word, though, hmm? Marriage?" he teased.

Laughing at the slap, he rubbing his shoulder lightly, then nodded. "What can I say? I'm a very traditional man. I can't see myself living very long without making an honest man out of the one that I love." Moving closer, he took Nikolai's left hand and touched his thumb to the ring. "I like the word even more whenever it means I'm talking about you too."
