Sliding on foot back and slightly moving his elbow down he managed to take only a blow to his elbow, which caused him to seize up, his other foot and his thigh. Slightly jumping around on a foot but even more surprised he actually moved to block and dodged, but unfortunately at the same time which he wasn't ready for. He re-rubbed his elbow and thigh before returning to the position for another go.

Shiva nodded approvingly and did another similar attack that aimed for his lower legs, stomach and head. He was learning. Maybe he'd actually be able to defend himself by tomorrow.

Dirim managed to block the leg and head attack but he took the blow to his stomach. With much grumbling later and a bunch of rubbing of his side, he moved back into position for another one of Shiva's attacks, already feeling sore from the small amount of defending he has been doing.

Shiva waited for Dirim to get back up and immediately made a feint towards his stomach pulling to pole up to catch him on the chin with a light tap and swung down again towards his knees. Hopefully he'd catch the little twitch she got when she made feints like this and was trying to give only a tap. If she was fully attacking the retch went away, but harmless tap made her twitch.

Dirim crossed his arms instinctively and instead of stumbling he nearly jumped back, rotating his arms to catch his balance and looked at Shiva shocked like he had just did something bad.

Shiva chuckled lightly and leaned on the pole. Why do you look so guilty? It's ok to move if it will save your butt. Come on get set again. Oh, but here grab a pole were moving on to blocking with a weapon. Shiva tossed her pole to Dirim and wrenched the other out of the ground. Setting her own stance she readied to attack.

Dirim was rather slow about his reaction time and took the pole to the face but managed to catch the pole as it moved away, he rubbed his face in pain and moved into a position to defend, a red mark forming on his face as he waited.

Shiva sighed and walked over to Dirim taking a close look at the forming bruise. You do realize you're not supposed to catch it with your face right? Maybe we should work
on your reactions first. I want you to throw your best attacks t my pole and I'll add my own attacks at random intervals. Try to block them. Shiva stepped back and held out her pole waiting for the attacks. She wasn't exepecting much.

Like someone quite inexperienced at fighting, Dirim nodded and he swung the pole like it were a really long baseball bat, not intentionally swing dangerously, but more so because he thought it was a good idea at the time.

Shiva felt the blow jarring through her arms. It was a pretty strong blow, but not useful in a fight. Shiva sighed and gave Dirim a tap on the knees which became open after the blow. That was a strong blow, but not effective if your opponent can block it. You'd have to sneak up on them everytime to use that effectively. Otherwise you're left completely open for attack afterwards, and anyone attacking you will be fast enough to take the blow. You'd be dead. Try to keep
your body moving and your eyes on me. Or well your attacker, but you get the point. Try it again.

Dirim quickly rubbed his knee cap where she tapped him as if expecting it to hurt. Dirim nodded and he brought the staff up and tried to bring it up for an under slash which wasn't very strong.
