Rikki Tikki Travi The walls around her stretched outward, making the room much larger than she had ever possibly seen it before. It took on a pattern not unlike a chessboard, with interchanged black and white squares adorning the walls. A thundering boom steadily grew louder as something approached her. It wasn't large by any means, but it's psychological impact would be known to Theresa. It was that woman. The one who felt no pain and couldn't die.
Theresa glared white hot death at the woman. The woman that represented what she had desired her whole life: an existence without pain. While she could repair herself quickly enough if she had the energy to do so, every step of the process was agony. The child ran away, leaving Theresa to take the pain. But this woman, Cassandra, didn't bleed, didn't bruise, and for all intents and purposes didn't seem to feel pain. Theresa had seen the woman act as erratic as many of the other experiments, but it was Cassandra's invulnerability that enraged her.
Theresa feared pain, and this woman (in her mind at least) would be the worst way to experience it. Theresa's power existed to make the pain stop, but this woman never died.
Theresa leveled her rifle and fired as fast as her body would allow. She couldn't hear it, the reverberation of the gunshots echoed much too loudly, but she was screaming.

The force of Theonis' blow would have severed the evil Larry's head, but it passed through the giant's neck like vapor. It had stopped moving. It was no longer straining against Rydia's spectral grasp. Heather's fear had made it physical, but Liv's power rendered it inert.
Elsewhere, Freya was staring curiously at the now still succubus.
"Da ******** who were asleep remained so as they were trapped in prisons forged from their own minds.
Rydia was backed up against the wall and hissing at something that had halted at her feet. It was rats. About a dozen rats had manifested before Liv had stopped the flow of Ray's influence.
The dust within Liv's bubble began to gather and shape itself. It took the shape of a torso, then arms extended from it, and then finally a head. It was a dark ghost of sorts, but it looked vaguely like an older woman.
Sill called out, "Eutha!"
Eutha, the embodiment of death's peace, opened her wrinkled eyes weakly. When she spoke, it was in the language of the Primantigua, which the learned would recognize as Latin. Her words were known to Liv, who possessed eyes that had seen, and Trinity, who possessed the presence of one who knows.
"Is that you, Silhouette? But you're not alone. I feel a wisp of Nymphe below us, and what I believe to be the child of Vivi and Vale...but it is weak, like an infant. Those around us possess the gifts of our parents."
Sill sounded almost panicked as she spoke in the same dead language.
"I thought you dead. What happened to you? Why are you...old? "
Eutha seemed to ignore the shadow's pleas as she looked at Liv, smiled, and then grunted, "I remember those eyes. So wonderful, and so terrible at the same time. Thank you for releasing me from the madness that had taken hold of me."

Theresa's fear had become rage, and the rage tore through her idea of Cassandra like tissue paper. The strange checkerboard world around her dissolved, and it was replaced by the room she was brought to by her captors.

Eutha's face managed a worn smile as she watched Liv.
"Such an inquisitive mind. You humans were always my favorite for that reason. Such short lives, but you always want to learn as much as you can during them. Crosis scoffed at the idea, but I found it rather charming."
She then looked toward Trinity's shadow and scoffed, "But really, Silhouette, the fact that you couldn't feel the other beings here is disappointing. Did those millennium in Umbra's realm dull your senses so poorly, or perhaps your brother's treachery took more than just your sanity."
Sill paused for a moment to consider what she just heard.
"You knew?! If you knew, then surely some of the other's must have known. You knew and did nothing?!" she was almost shouting.
Eutha's smile faded. "The trauma of losing your physical form must have done more to your memory than I thought. A shame, especially since I don't have much time to catch up with you. Perhaps the one's with the eyes can peer into your being and find your solution."
Sil was growing more impatient as the elder ancient spoke. "Enough of your side stepping and vague hints! If you know something, spit it out."
Eutha sighed and looked at Trinity, "I remember you, or at least the one that was made a pawn. It's truly marvelous that you can contain Silhouette without losing yourself. Good for you."
She looked among the group and spoke English so that all could understand.
"This human, Charles, has only been my host for a short time. It was Eclipse's doing. He found a way to contain my very being ages ago. I have aged because Silhouette's brother has been siphoning my power since he took me captive. I suppose he was done with me, because he betrayed Charles by inserting me into him. The poor man was just looking for a solution to, what is it you humans call it...cancer. Isn't that funny Silhouette, that they made a name for those suicidal bodily functions?"
"I regards to Nymphe, Vivi, and Vale, I was merely commenting on their familiar yet weak presence here. If I had to venture a guess, there is a being made of water below us. And I suppose that foolish child, you know the one Silhouette, the one that made herself a tree out of spite, got herself killed and re-birthed herself from the ashes."
She paused for a moment and took another deep breath.
"I don't have much time. I know because I can see my brother waiting for me, but he assures me that I have a moment to answer a few more questions. Then I'll have to be killed, or I'll be forced to kill you. Fire should do it. That way there's no danger. But I digress, ask away."
